I bought the quad cortex about 2 months ago as a fly rig since my rack with my axe fx 3 was just to big and heavy to carry. I also have an Eventide H90. I realized after a month I no longer need my rack with axe fx and 2 Syn 2s for what I do. Now I just use the QC and Powercab 2x12. I leave my Powercab at the studio and just take my QC and guitars. When I’m at home I have the QC on a music stand at waist level off to my side leaving desk clear. I love tracking with the QC via the usb and record DI on one track and my tone on another track. The DI makes it so much easier to mix seeing the peaks so much clearly defined. I gave up on the plugins. I realized writing that code would take a long time. Now the editor is here but I’m not sure if I would even use it. My QC is off to my immediate side at waist level and is very intuitive. Like others I was interested in this from the beginning but like a car you never buy a new model when it first comes out. I always wait for the company to iron out the kinks first. I think they came a very long way since it was first released. I sold all my other gear with the exception of my h90. As far as people making money off this, it’s already being done. People are selling presets and captures. They demo them on UA-cam and provide an email link to purchase. Then you follow them on the cloud and they share their preset or captures with you. I’ve purchased a few already. I am very happy with the system. I don’t need anything else.
I just got one of these because the internet kept on telling me how awful this thing is but it’s so easy to use. Sounds amazing and I can literally download a sound from an app and do minimal thinking. This thing is awesome I don’t understand all of the complaining
I have had mine going on 3 months. It is an amazing machine. I think it comes from having certain expectations. When I bought my unit I did not know that there were people that had been waiting for over 2 years for certain features. So if you did not have an expectation you would be much less likely to be upset that the editor, or plug ins, or certain features were not added. It really works well for me as a guitar player on our church worship team. I do look forward to added features and bug fixes.
He needs views because it’s a great modeler. Got rid of my others. They have to do something I guess. This will be deleted guaranteed. And the beta version is coming out with the pc editor which I don’t even need with the great UI and some new amps a few other things. There’s only complaints from utubers needing views or people wanting plug ins which the actual quad sounds better. Oh but plug ins are way cheaper. Got it.

For me the qc is perfect as it is at the moment. But i do wish they made a quad cortex profile shop. So people started competing for the best tones possible.

“We are happy to report that CorOS 2.1.0 was released to beta testers yesterday evening. We expect to release it to the public in the coming weeks. This allows our team to finalize everything required for the open beta of Cortex Control.
Cortex Control is in a very good state. We will be able to share the release date of the public beta before the end of August.
Plugin compatibility is also progressing well. We will be releasing compatible plugins in batches, and the first batch of plugins will be announced later this year.”
Do you feel better now? You put a clickbait title on your video, but except for a few minor "grievances" you didn't really say anything was drastically wrong with it. I guess people just have to have something to complain about. If you thought it couldn't be "saved", you would be selling yours.
You can capture Neural plugins and use them in the QC as a bit of a work around to the direct plugin integration. It's a pain, but it can be done. QC definitely needs a desktop editor!
Imo the UI is so good no pc needed however, pc is in beta testing.
As a professional guitarist. I’m very happy with this unit. Also as an old school guy, I have a ton of gear I have captured and brought out to the ship with me. I was using bias fx with a Bluetooth pedal for years waiting for this unit. The cloud and the community are great.
I love my qc.
1. Not everything has to be all about people selling presets which in my experience don't translate to home.
2. Desktop editor is coming.
3. It does get updated and more is added - you also want the desktop so it takes time.
I have used tons of amps and extensively used Helix both live and at home.
It works great, it's a small footprint. It works at home and on road with amps and headphones.
People love to complain and people want everything right away.
It seems like you put and down and then talk about how you like it. Not sure what the point of your video really is. Hope you find a solution that checks the boxes better for you. Cheers.

Maybe to know that the desktop editor for the Kemper took AGES! I always said "when cars fly" . I use it live, so a desktop for me would be nice, but no "show stopper" for me. Agree about the update frequency.
I don’t need it either with the UI but they have a beta version coming with the pc. Plus, Kemper was so stiff feeling. Sound was mediocre. It needed a lot of help. The quad feels like an amp and sounds great.
i sold my helix floor yesterday , today ordered cortex today ,looking forward get it on saturday , im sure they will do more updates , and i saw desktop video today at namm ,it will be update soon
What are your thoughts about quad cortex now, comparing to the helix. I want to buy one of those. Tks
@@Jehud very good ,easy to use but only problem is adaptor is very cheap made ,i had to buy cioks7 adaptor as i was getting hum or ground noise with a original adaptor ,

And, what about the sound? Does it sound better than the helix?
@@Jehud yes sound much better then helix and much easier then helix cause touch screen , you have a app on your phone ,direct download the patch from your phone to cortex , cioks7 adaptor is not cheap as i paid 235 pound ,
my advice if you have a chance try both but the reason i sold helix ,it eas too big ,i was excited and didnt thini and bought one but trust me cortex make your life much easier

The QC is great, and plenty of people are very happy with it while plenty more are buying them new. It's just the youtube hype train that is hating on it.

I pretty much only use the 2203 amp for 90% of my presets. I own JCM800s so it's always just been my sound.
Why would anyone use the QC in the studio when we have ToneX and NAM?

How many amp models does the average guitar player really need though? Most players, like myself, find something they like and just use that. I think this pedal is perfect as it is, so why update it?

What if the quad cortex was in cloud only, it would take zero desk or shelve space and could be used via wifi only, just plug the guitar direct to wifi.. I also don't want to turn to my quad and push buttons, it would rather turn to my keyboard and mouse and press those buttons.

@@JustinTutor fair enough but the quad cortex doesn't need to compete with tonex. It has way more features with a much better interface. I'm not going to lose faith in the quad cortex yet.

I tried to tell you man. Utubers look desperate for views putting this unit down how about other modelers that truly suck in feel and sound and workflow and promises and poor help? No?
I‘m glad i waited till they implement the plugins. And even 2 years later there are no signs, even though that was advertised. If they integrate it one day, i will re-evaluate if i buy it. But when i consider they‘re politics towards customers i think i‘ll pass it…
As a customer I have to say they really don't treat their customers as well as any other guitar / music related company I've ever dealt with. Almost sold my unit out of spite after dealing with their customer service

@@rejuvenator8966eally? They’ve treated me great. What company pays for everything? Shipping both ways. I had an issue. Fixed asap. They were in constant communication. Nice try buddy. I bought a back up just for the whiners. I still love my amps and pedals but ffs stop complaining. Bigger issues in life. Your pc which isn’t needed is coming and the quad sounds better and reacts better than a plug in. Do what you want but stop whining. You’ve clearly never had real issues in life.

FM9 is way better. If QC was under $500...maybe. I am going to buy one but promise them payments slowly over years- releasing $50 at a time. After all, turnabout is fair play.
The editor is a plus but it wasn't really that much necessary. The UI is so simple and fast that the editor is not a real improvement.
