You just did 2 heavy ones back to back. Give yourself a break from the Bardcore and do a lighter one next. Try out his band The Big Push. I shot the sheriff/ Road to Zion/ Hip hop. A 3 song mash up. Then maybe try chalk outlines (live) with Chinchilla. You never know what you are going to get with Ren, but it's always good.

You are only scratching the surface of his talent, try the money game trilogy, back on 74 or anything with Chinchilla or his live stuff with the Big Push and only then will you understand the talent he has, watch his chapters 1-8 to get his back story and understand what a human being he is, but I am glad you found him, keep exploring, you won’t regret it

Shakespeare was "The Bard" and this was a Shakespearian tragedy for sure. But, I agree, Ren did it with music and that's just another level.
Ren has a lot to say about the ills of society, mental health, suicide, and his illness. Many of his songs will leave you curled in a corner bawling your eyes out or furious at the world but, he also loves music and creating. Take an occasional break and enjoy some of his fun stuff too. I will warn you that Ren got sick when he was still a teenager and missed a lot of life - in many ways he had to grow up WAY too fast, but in some ways he's still a kid at heart. Be prepared for some d**k jokes when he's having fun.
When you say to see him live, he just did his first live solo show in 4 years a couple days ago. With his illness and ongoing treatment, he hasn't been able to hit the road even to promote his album release (it went #1 in the U.K. and landed on the Billboard Top 200 anyway).
Fun song? Maybe "Power" or his rap over Fisher's beat, "Losing It (Fisher Rap Retake)". Maybe Love Music part 1, 2, 3, or 4 (variations on a theme, so you can do them individually). His viral busking video with Sam Tompkins "Earned It/Mans World/Falling". His retro tribute to hip-hop "What You Want'. Busking with The Big Push.
Depressing/sad but great songs are too many to list. He lost his friend Joe to suicide at 19 and lost another friend, Mackay, in an accident. "Freckled Angels" is one Ren wrote for Joe's memorial (they never found the body). His live duets with Chinchilla are spectacular (but definitely not "feel good").

Yes, one take and live. He kept it raw and real. Nice job following along and catching on. Some don't catch on and they are surprised in the comments when they get told Jenny and Screech are twins and Violet was mom. Subbed for more. 55 yrs old and the last 2 yrs this 34 yr old man has been my favorite artist/musician. He is so gifted in every genre. I want to say I knew him before he was a household name. He is independent and plans to stay that way no matter how many lucrative contracts he gets offered. His message is more important.

"WTF Ren!?" is the most appropriate reaction to this trilogy!!! One of the best reactions to this song I've seen (and trust me might've seen them all)!
And yes! I totally agree this amazing man should be winning Grammy's and Oscar's and it's a sacrilege that he hasn't reached even 2 million subs on YT! But being independent is hard, yet despite this he's actually managed to beat Rick Astley to the No1 spot when he realease his latest album Sick Boi earlier this year. Ren also has struggled with his health for many years and it's a credit to his fortitude and perseverance that he has achieved what he has.
I'm not sure what type of song you want to do next (he does most genres! 😅).
The songs Troubles and Seven Sins depict well what he's been through healthwise, but there are so many amazing songs I struggle to recommend any!
Apart from those two...top of my favourite list are Dominoes (lyric video), Seven Sins (lyric Video), the Big Push busking videos where Ren is wearing the red suspenders, the money game trilogy, Back to 74/Message in a Bottle Retake (Ren's version of these two songs) and Bongo Bong by The Big Push (always makes me smile). ❤ Subbing for more 😊

Ren wrote Jenny and Screech's tales after reading an article about a 14 year old boy who stabbed a prostitute in an attempted robbery. The boy was shot by the police later that evening. This made Ren think about the senseless violence and how desensitized we are to it. And how we fail to stop this transgenerational violence. He also saw Screech been a victim of his history. Because he learned his behavior from his father and grandfather. Just as Jenny learned her behavior from her silent mother/grandmother. "It's such a Shame" were the words of a police officer at the scene.
I love the detail at the beginning of Screech's Tale: When Ren sings "He melted into the black night just like snow" Ren almost disappears in the darkness for a moment in the video as well.
I just wanted to point out that neither of the twins would have had a parent or grandparent or any family to learn anything from. They would have grown up in the foster system or equivalent. They inherited their traits for violence and silence so it would have been ingrained and not learned to my understanding.

Great reaction! I love that you recognized that he was a bard so fast. Identifying your local bard is a skill that hadn't been very common for at least a couple of centuries so I'm guessing that you might be a gamer. I'm a Ren reaction addict. I LOVE pauses. HOWEVER, I think it is a good practice to always rewind at least 5 seconds after a pause. Especially on Ren songs. You don't want to miss a split second. And you DO miss subtle things because right before you pause, you are thinking about what you're about to say. And then when you restart, you are still a little bit on that. And the flow is gone. You did sometimes go back a bit. I've watched dozens and dozens of reactions to this song, and you DID miss tiny things that I was disappointed about lol. Or times that it would have been more impactful if you let yourself get back in to the flow a little.

Yea, Hi Ren then the Tales is a rough run.... I always recommend his 1 million subscriber speech (not music, but you learn who he is with that one), Power, or What You Want as more fun options! THERE'S MANY MORE but those are top of my list ❤
Really enjoyed your first 2 Ren reactions! Subscribed! I suggest your next Ren reaction be something a little lighter😅 His Back on 74/Message in a Bottle retake would be a good change of pace. (it’s kind of a cover/mashup of those two songs with some of his own rapping thrown in the middle too.) Another good one would be with his former band The Big Push doing a mashup of I Shot the Sheriff/ Road to Zion/Hip-Hop (the version where he’s wearing red suspenders). After that I’d go with Troubles, Chalk Outlines (live with chinchilla), Genesis, and Power.
One suggestion/request - after you pause can you got back a few seconds before you restart the music video? You did a few times. It really helps to get the full impact of the lyrics and flow!😊
I quickly scrolled through comments, and I’m surprised I don’t see anyone giving you a rundown of Ren’s story (maybe I missed it). Very briefly, Ren has dealt with severe illness, the last 15 years. He was extremely sick with undiagnosed Lyme disease for eight years. After diagnosis, he “returned to the land of the living“ with a stem cell transplant, but still struggled with a lot of symptoms. He’s been in Canada for a year and half doing intensive treatment for autoimmune conditions and brain damage caused by the Lyme disease. He’s doing a lot better, but will likely have to manage autoimmune conditions his whole life. He’s back in the UK this summer and doing his first solo show in five years at the Secret Garden Party festival on July 27!

I think the song Crutch by Ren would suit you. It is an early piece when he was suffering a lot and is just pure art.Chalk Outlines also but musically Crutch has some sound closer to your home. Great reaction

I have been through that. But it wasn't a domestic partner, it was my own brother assaulting me. I would go into details, not that's not relevant here. He was as always drunk, his ugly side really comes out when drunk. I was a near by punching bag to release his anger at certain circumstances. I was cornered and it was unexpected. I survived in-tacked, thankfully, but the assault was traumatic and left a mental scar that has never really healed.
He has since long passed away, but I still recall many times what happened that day. I have NEVER forgiven him.

Ren is so good at telling stories, sometimes a trigger warning should be issued. Before Ren, there was no artist I thought every song by was great. There are usually always songs that don't meet the taste, but I haven't found any with Ren so far ^^. I don't really like reggae, but I enjoy Ren's music, even if I had to warm up to it first. If you want to listen to less serious songs by Ren, I recommend his band “The big push”.
Ren's last album was mainly RAP music. The next album should be more melodic and include collaborations with other artists. A favorite of mine is his newer song “Back to 74 / Massage in a bottle”. But I think all the songs are good.
If you're looking for a good mood song, I recommend “Humble”.
In any case, I wish you a nice trip down the rabbit hole.
