Ninh explains - the Rules of Timbersports.
People grossly underestimate how much power, speed and skill it takes to do these events. Whilst wielding a chainsaw doesn’t seem physically taxing, cutting those exact discs in the fastest time possible without mistake is difficult. And don’t get me started with the chopping events. Props to these guys!

I have never watched a full event before. I had no idea that on top of being incredibly strong, you have to have serious cardio, serious core strength, and hand-eye coordination that could literally lead to losing a limb if you're off by a tiny bit or if malfunction of equipment occurs. A suprisingly addictive sport to watch. I saw a regional qualifyer live once. Really helps to appreciate what absolute beasts the guys in the top leauges are.
I always cringe a bit when watching them cutting a log they're standing on. Looks so close to cutting of their feets with each strike, and they usually don't use any feet protection (though I think that's a requirement in regional qualifiers with less experienced competitors)
