Hi Can't you connect the iPad directly to the mixing console without an intermediate DI box? I do it like that at the venue and it sounds perfect. What does that DI box add?
I was able to get the click track to some wired earbuds that plug into the 1/8 inch jack on the direct box. No mixer required but that is for a solo worship leader who has the direct boxes sitting near him.
Great Video! I hope i can get a response from ya. Question, i lead worship at times and i have 2 singers at most. So for simplicity reasons and money. Could i just use the following set up to get by: Ipad ➡ splitter cable ➡ 2 direct boxes➡ XLR to a big wheeled Bluetooh speaker with xlr ports, mic ports etc. ↕ ➡XLR to 2 channel mixer then get 3 sets of in ears with extension cables to reach the 2 channel mixer and plug in so that we can all hear track and click? then the house can only hear track via bluetooh speaker?
So, if I buy something like the Behringer HA800, would I connect the click DI box to that system (HA800)? Then the track or loop to the snake that leads to our mixer?
Hello Sir First of all, many thanks for this vidéo. You do a very priceless work for us living overseas like me in Martinique ( french caribbeans) I would like to ask a question about hooking my Ipad with prime App to the house mixing console. Is it mandatory to plug the Ipad to the house console through DI boxes in mic inputs ? Is it possible to plug directly to the console stereo line input without DI boxes ? Many thanks Jacques
If you have Prime running near enough to your console that you can run the lines directly into the board, you can do this, but often, going through direct boxes provides more flexibility and provides easier accommodation for long cable runs.
All the band will hear in their inears is the click and guide and not the track(or music) correct? Is there a way to hear the track/click and still send track to the house? Thanks
What if you are playing keys? How will the drummer hear you if he has the stems but not the individual playing the keys or another instrument/vocalist.?
You can send the other instruments from the soundboard back to the interface the drummer is using so that he can hear everyone. If you need more info on this, let us know!
Hi there, this huge help for us, thanks again for making this video to understand how it work. I do have a problem, i did everything single step as u did but the clicks and cue are veryyy low. Any idea how it can be fixed? Thank you...
The first step would be to make sure that whatever channel you are sending them to your board with is turned up, as well as your in-ear monitor mix. If you continue to run into issues, email us with how you have it set up at support@loopcommunity.com.
How does this set up work with Prime 7? I'm getting a stereo signal from the app. I can no longer get the click and cues on the Left and the tracks on the right. Why? Help please
hello! got a question..we're just about to start using click tracks.. how do make the click just come out of the in ear monitor? i plugged both xlr to our snake but both are coming out of the house/house monitors. thanks!
You'll want to use the sends on your soundboard to send the click and cues to the in-ear mixes only. Then the other channel with the tracks you can send through your main speakers!
Already setup like this but still don't get the click and tracks to left and right and I already choose the pan in the app. I wondering is there any else we need to do on sound board after set up like? I try to get clicks and tracks sperate in our in ear
Sorry to hear this! Have you tested it with headphones to sees if everything pans properly? If it does work in headphones, there may be an issue with the way you're routing the audio from the Prime app. Let us know!
Very helpful! Thank you. Do you have suggestions or a video on what apps, hardware, etc are best for backing tracks?--- specifically, which tablet and app for playing back 30 or so songs. I'm looking for a pretty basic system. I would play guitar and sing along with the tracks. Thanks so much in advance for your response.
Check out the Prime app from Loop Community! It is a completely free app and will allow you to play back any track with ease. You can change tempo and key from right within the app. Also, Loop Community has a wide variety of worship tracks available for you to use in your setlists! Otherwise, you can upload custom audio to the Prime Cloud for use in the Prime app. Head to loopcommunity.com to learn more!
The tracks should come through their own channel if you separate them with a stereo breakout cable going into the snake. Once the audio is coming through the appropriate channel on your soundboard, you can route the audio from there!
At 6:29 Can you add a 4 way headphone splitter and have multiple headphones? We don't have a drummer and play drums through a track. There occasions when some of us got off tempo and it really messed everything up plyaing live.
This video was really helpful. The only thing I can say is I think you should rename this video. I almost didnt click on it because the title doesnt exactly make it clear what the video is about. I'm glad I did though because it did help me a lot and i appreciate it. I just hope people dont pass it over because the title is a little vague. Maybe something like "how to separate tracks and clicks in a live setting simplified". Ether way thank you.
Unfortunately there isn't a way to do this with the panning of the tracks. However, if you send both the click and instrumental tracks to your soundboard, you should be able to accomplish this on your soundboards end!
Jesus Villa you hook up your iems to an aux output on your mixer, and you can control the level of both click and track and any other instruments or mics connected to the mixer.

So we pre-record our originals (Backing tracks), upload onto the site, then run from my ipad-to a D.I. box-to the mixer. We don't need the click(We don't have a drummer) so i'll probably try just 1 TRS cable, or maybe just tape off the gray end, and only plug in the red(Right) either way this is good stuff guys!!!!
Is there a way to move an instrument track to the click track (move a blue to a red) so that you can control or hear the instrument you are playing while the track for that instrument is not heard in front of house?
Question: For live streaming, we use the sound directly from the sound board (Allen Heath Qu-32) and we use in ear mixers (Allen Heath ME500). How do I keep Click and Cue from bleeding into the livestream mix? Thankfully it doesn’t come through the house but it can be heard in the livestream in the background.
Most commonly click bleed is the result of improper gain staging at your board. Lower the gain levels of your click and cues line and see if this helps with the bleed!
@@dominicpolverino2644 Then there must be an issue with how its being routed. Without having that specific board to test, I would recommend double checking the routing of your click and cues to make sure that they are being sent to the house mix within your board, but not the stream.

If your soundboard has TRS inputs instead of XLR, you could do this. The DI boxes have the audio go from the stereo breakout cable, to two DIs to the XLRs which can be any length.
If you've sent your click/cues and tracks lines to your soundboard, from there you can have them sent back to your in ears and have click, cues, and your tracks all in both ears!
I would recommend using a DI between the mixer and your iPad. If there’s a power surge or someone is using phantom power, this can damage your iPad. Specifically when being plugged in or unplugged. Is being ‘boxed-in’ probably the best way to describe worshiping to an electronic metronome? Ultimately, should worship be about expression through the Holy Spirit, or a machine's accuracy?
Should we be against technological advances? Or should we evaluate our
motivation for click-track? Is it fit for the purpose in Church corporate?
worship?
Hi!
And if I wanna use a stereo multitrack? Can I have 3 chanel to do it?
Example: Chanel 1 - right, Chanel 2 - left, and chanel 3 - click...
you can definitely do this, but you will need to use an audio interface or an alternate output that has 3 or more outputs available!
Thanks!!!
