Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to throw me a like if you enjoyed ☺ - would love to know what you think of smaller pen shows and meetups and how you prepare. Do you have any pen show plans for the incoming year?
I’m going to the Detroit Pen show this month. I went last year for the 1st time but was not into Fountain Pens at that time. I’m really looking forward to going this year. Kirk is going to do my 1st nib grind. I plan to try & test lots of things out. 😊
I hope you have the best time! The Detroit show seems similar to the Colorado one as far as size. Do you know what grind you want to get or are you going to decide after trying the testers??
@@julia-hereI’m planning an UEF or Needlepoint, at the moment. I have a stub min coming that I’m going to try so I may end up with a thinner stub if that’s even a thing. 😊 I’m looking forward to the process. It will be on my birthday that I’m going and getting this done so it will be even more special.
I have never been to a Pen Show, but the Denver Show is first on my list! Not too far away, and I think I would prefer my first show to be a smaller one. I would definitely look at vintage pens (Parkers) and small makers. I'll be watching for your next video! Look for the Karas booth--their pens are made right here in Arizona, and they often have pens at the show that are not available from their website!
Oh that would be perfect for you being in AZ (I’m in southern NM)- I do remember Karas from last year, indeed! I’ll have to take a closer look this year for sure, thanks for the tip! 🙏🏽 and hope you see you at a future show ☺️
Stationery fest was my first ever pen like event so I definitely wanted to try a pen show that wasn't too big. I'm aiming for Philly in January because DC scares me just with the sheer size, lol.
Oh nice!! Philly should be great! (Yeah, DC is pretty crazy from what I hear so I don’t know if you’ll have that “small show feel” you may be looking for) - I’m going to Philadelphia for the first time in May… any food/drink/anything recommendations? 👀👀🙃
Oh awesome!! 👏🏽 hopefully we will run into each other. I like to lurk around for most of the show 😅; Friday will be my first day without my post-surgery boot so I’ll probably be lurking… slowly and wobbly 🥲
@@julia-here I'm always slow and wobbly. We can gimp around together. I have an appointment with kirk at 1pm on Friday so I'll be there then at minimum. If you're interested in flex, I also have Stylosuite nibs and Regalia Cross-flex you should try.
absolutely down for that! I have an appointment with Kirk tomorrow at 2 I think?? So I’ll definitely know where to find you. Would love to try any flex nibs you have! I’m on the hunt for perfection 😅
I’m looking forward to both events too - the Co pen posse people are amazing! Hopefully people in Chicago will be as nice too. I know the Posse crew will have lots of interesting pens for you to try, I joke with my husband that my ‘you spent how much on a pen’ pens are the basic b@*ch when I go to a pen meetup.

@@suzannefortner6065 super special! you can definitely do a thinner stub. Kirk's needlepoint is the best! Happy early birthday!! 🥳

I can highly recommend the Gyro-Cut to cut PET tapes.
Thank you! Will absolutely check it out ☺️🤌🏽

Looking forward to meeting you, hopefully! I have a pilot FA 743 size 15 nib and a 912 FA size 10 if you want to try them!
