I think your Clapton video are the best show that you can view on UA-cam channel guitar. Nobody pay attention at the incredible talent that Eric has got, maybe is an old star... But for me remains the master. Your tutorial are gold for me.
One of the best skills you can learn is to clap rhythms.. it will enable you to play super accurate.. get a musician friend to show you some simple rhythms.. I recommend many of my students invest in a Louis Bellson drum book ... it will really help!... or just keep looping it over & over... you'll get it eventually:-)
make sure pick doesn't go to deep... it a bit of an illusion.. the movement looks like its played hard but its the opposite... Clapton & SRV etc articulate tremolando very cleanly because they actually skim the strings... which means u can go back & forth quickly.. hope that helps..
Hellow Mike, thanks for sharing your hard work, you have got the phasing down to a art. Everybody seems not to want to give credit to Clapton for being a great guitarist, as he plays mainly in the Minor Pentatonic scale, its pretty obvious that these people have never tried to play his style, I'm 65, and him and Hendrix have been the hardest for me get their phasing and timing down right, you break it down very nicely. What amp are you using, and do you use any peadals to assist you to get your sound. Thanks John
Thanks John, Yes Claptons phrasing is really great...the amp is 57 reissue Bandmaster, Fender custom shop strat...I'm mainly going straight into the amp at the mo but do also have a bunch of overdrives i like to use like the Archer, King of Tone... these are posh pedals but tbh any overdrive would do once the gtr, amp and and guitar playing are of a standard... thanks for commenting!
