Restoring Rapa Nui - Francine Cousteau's visit to Easter Island

Francine Cousteau, President of the Cousteau Society and the Minister of Agriculture of Chile signed on April 16 a historic agreement with the Rapa Nui people representatives to reforest the eroded lands of Easter Island.

Wrong tree. Trash non=native species like Eucalyptus are being planted.
Concept: do it right. Plant Jubaea chilensis. The closest extant relative to the now exinct trees. Why is this so difficult? Why must cheap and fast outweigh environmentally sound?
