I have never felt this way before after a game. Elated and relieved and so proud of our Bok team - what an exceptional display of South African toughness, vasbyt and skill. But I am heartbroken for La Belle Republique who have a team for the ages and played with such a beautiful combination of skill, passion and physicality. The French fans are amazing and the country with its beautiful cities , stadiums, countryside and culture has been the perfect venue for this World Cup. WR cocked this up. France what a game, I have nothing but respect for you. When we in the southern hemisphere say that South Africa is the hardest team to beat in pressure games, you now know why. Their self belief is arrogance to the rest of the world. Charging down conversions, taking a mark and giving your opponents an attacking scrum in their own 22 literally tell them, watch us take this ball from you , we will out scrum you and doing just that like they saw it was written in the stars. France you were unfortunate today, it seems like if you scored 100 points South Africa would have scored 101, you should be proud of the way you played today, this can only mean your time will surely come. It wouldn't hurt to pray that on that day there's no Spingboks around.

On sait que cela ce joue à peu de chose mais ne pas voir les décisions arbitrales c’est voir la moitié des problèmes 1995 2011 2023 ça commence à se voir vivement des arbitres roumains espagnols portugais argentins j’en peux de ces anglo-saxons et des sud africains au sifflet. le TMO ne sert à rien comment ne pas voir Kolbe anticiper sur la transformation et l’en avant volontaire de Estebez ….des NZ aux sifflets c’est curieux non ? Ils avaient intérêt à ne pas rencontrer la France en finale chez elle 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷
My sympathies to the French team and supporters. The French team was brilliant for about 75% part of the game. It was an incredible game to watch. Congratulations to the Springboks.
RESPECT TO FRANCE, they played an EXCELLENT game, it took me a few seconds to process the victory, ...France played beautiful, I do feel bad for them, they wanted to win just as bad, they gave everything they had, they kept the Bokke on their toes, they played so good, their was a couple of times, I thought I'm going to just go to sleep, .. I have major RESPECT for France, I loved how they played, I couldn't believe we won, .. this was nerve wrecking, both teams played with everything they had, RESPECT to France, .The Bokke played like their lives depended on it, WELL DONE TO BOTH TEAMS, THEY PLAYED GOOD

I don't think a single Springboks supporter didn't, just like me, see our team going down to this most incredible onslaught by arguably one of the best and most on form teams I have ever seen. From the first second France did what our guys normally do, that is pile on the pressure and intensity and all the opponents can do is react to it. It felt like we were at any moment going to go down from this immense onslaught. I still don't quite know how the bokke managed to stay together and play catch-up, but there seemed to be a strange calmness about their act that I definitely wasn't feeling.
This was a massive game and it will keep resonating with me for ages to come, but for the drop of bitter gall in our sweet cup of victory, France and SA should not have ended up in the same pool. Someone deserving was always going to have to fall out while other pools had much easier runs. Whoever worked out the permutations of the pools must have known what they were doing, it was intended that an undeserving team should drop out and sadly this was France. The dice could easily have fallen differently and we would have been crying today. France should also have gone through, they definitely deserved to.

Best test game ever. Stress levels couldn't hold it. Sadly one of the teams had to lose, thank goodness it wasn't SA. I, like the rest of SA, will never forget the 1995 drop goal of Joel Stransky. This game will stay in my mind for years to come. Proudly South African.🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦

The South African staff were complaining about refereeing even before the match, did that also sour the game for you ? I think not.
When Etzebeth does a deliberate knock-on 5 meters from his goal line to annihilate a French try and not even a scrum is given, and on the following play South Africa score a try, I understand why the French wouldn't be happy about that. In a game decided by just one point, this was huge.
Bokes fans are magics : when they loose, it's the fault of the ref, but when they win, the ref was against us ANIWAY

If Fiji had a good kicker, they would've beat England as they played better rugby. England won by kicking only. I dont think the final will be as good as the France SA game, this game was sublime.
Maybe you talking about the coming Semi finals and not the Final. A NZ vs Springboks is always been the standard of thee thrilling encounter and I am sure will be so this coming Final. That is not to take away from the phenomal form and class of current NH teams such as France and Ireland But you can't seriously anticipate that this Final(most likely NZ Springbok)will be anything short of spectacle
Lack of experience cost Fiji the game. Knock-out games are traditionally close encounters, and Fiji tried to force their trademark offloads, which cost them the game.

As a Saffa, I have fallen in-love with French rugby this World Cup and they have become my 2nd favourite team to watch! Ireland were boring in comparison- similar to what SA used to be.
As a nation you should be super proud and super excited because your team is so young and they will take all this experience with them into 2027!! I expect to see you in the finals in the next World Cup without a doubt and would put money on you winning it now already! You would have won tonight I believe if your kickers didn't buckle under pressure (lack of experience, which they now have) and if a couple of the referee's decisions went your way instead. I agree France were unlucky, but please don't blame the players for it. We know what its like to have bad decisions go against you, it hurts!! But maybe learn from out mistakes? You are allowed to charge down a conversion, but you can’t charge when it’s a penalty kick. He was converting a try. Perfectly legal to charge it. Players do it ALL the time. It’s just not often that they actually get to charge it down.
Kolbe had a ‘hand of god’ moment, that will be celebrated for the Right reasons.

Isn't it amazing that Ireland "the best team in the world" at that time, just needed to beat NZ, then would've had a clear run to the final. They would've fancied beating Argentina, then in the final they would've had confidence to atleast match the Boks.
How did we do that? Colbe charge down? bar the Etsebet incident Arendse had a try - 6 points iso 1 difference would feel more like a win. French chip kicks were extremely effective, They matched our scrum in fact all set pieces. Etsebet incident - please look at the replays - he is very tall his left knee is completely bend- he was as low as possible for that tackle.
Hard, he was the tallest... How the hell does the ref expect Ezbet to try harder getting lower... The ref should've yellow carded himself off the field.... AB fan backing SA...

Best game ever watched. On most days France would probably have won. Boks almost matched France in all departments but just had that extra big match temprament. Boks going for the try rather than a certain penalty when trailling was the tiniest diffirence between the sides

Boks did not play at the level that we know they can. It’s understandable when playing against the host nation. We need to up our game against England and to pile on the points. Our forwards must dominate and give the backs better ball. France slots this game more than Boks won it.
