    It would heat up much faster with the lid on, also try putting a weight over the drain plug to keep it fully open, the water flow when draining will cause the plug to tend towards the closed position thus draining slower.

    How is it on the electric bill 💸, and does it need to stay on all the time? I plan to use it only during the winter months

    • @lstubbs71
      @lstubbs71  2 роки тому

      Hi.. I havnt really paid much attention to the bill. If you are using it regularly the yes you will keep it running so it will stay hot.
      Also Tom , in the comments below, is correct, if you keep the lid on it heats up quicker and stays very hot...

    Hello Mr. Stubbs thank you for your video. I had no clue there was a part to drain it and to clean the pump itself.
    I do have a question, how did you get any settled water where the bubbles come out. Ours sat for some time because I had had back surgery. It had gotten some mildew in it. We cleaned it and as soon as I turned on the bubbles a lot of the settled water in the bubble strip that put dirty water back into the tub. Is there a way to put a hose and cleaner into the bubble strip to flush any dirt in it? Also do you know if you could run some cleaner thru the pump to flush any nasty water that may have sat in the pump? It could very well have been dirty water in the pump that when turned on got the new water dirty.
    Again, thank you so very very much. Any advice would be great. Have a great day!

    • @lstubbs71
      @lstubbs71  4 роки тому +1

      Hockeymom #67 hey there so sorry for the delayed response... I think that would be a great idea. . to add cleaner and flush it through the part that makes bubbles.. I think key is to use it often enough that it doesnt sit.. I used mine last winter but havnt used it this winter yet. if you flush the part that makes the bubbles enough there shouldn't be enough water in there to settle and mildew up to badly. . when I bring mine back out if it has a smell or anything I will clean it that way and see how it goes.. take care, hope you back heals quickly and all is well.. take care.

      @@lstubbs71 thank you for your response. We live in Florida so ours is up and running all year. But with my back surgery I just hadn't used it and we needed to do a deep clean so we had turned it off. Ot was a rough time with the back surgery and emergency gallbladder removal that was 3hrs from home so we just didn't have time to drain it and leave it with nothing.
      Do you ever have the problem with the magnetic piece with the white pin in the pump? We have been thru 3 already in a year and half. We finally made a couple instead of getting a new pump because they won't sell just that piece.

    • @fearxscape

      I do but many use bromine. Bromine takes longer but lasts longer. Chlorine works quicker which is what I need but either is not costly. Some use ONLY baking soda but I didn't want to risk losing my warranty but it can do the trick super fast also.

    • @lstubbs71
      @lstubbs71  5 років тому

      I do use Chlorine... only to keep the water clear and clean...
      I use a Chlorine shocker powder , a big jar of powder to increase alkalinity , and a big jar of powder for PH levels.
      also there is a small floating device that holds chlorine tablets... I use that as well. all can be bought from Walmart..
