I’ve asked my son to show me videos of camp life. You have explained it almost identical to his views. Especially the food. Thanks for the sharing of this video.
I worked for Schlumberger for 29 years and I started in 1987.This is by far the best oil camp I have ever seen. I have never worked in North America as a field Engineer, so I have not seen something like that. Most of the time, I worked offshore, and there were some rigs with very good infrastructure, but not like this one, of course. Even when I worked on land rigs, they were not even close to that.
I start with Schlumberger next week and this is the best camp I’ve seen on UA-cam. That gym is PERFECT! The others I’ve seen look I’ll have to do a lot of pushups and air squats. Lol! Great video and thanks for sharing .
Hey man, wanna give an update on the job? I'm a bodybuilder trying to get my pro card. Thinking of doing rigging for a year or so to make some serious cash to buy a house. A place that had a decent gym would be an absolute game changer as its one of the #1 factors i'm debating.
Hi there, hope you're doing well. I follow you a lot of time and i really appreciate your experience and your daily routine and life with us. Thanks so much take care and good luck with your career and your life
Ive recently considered working in the oil/gas industry and stumbled across your content, love you videos! How's getting fresh or hot food on the fly or on break near your work area and/or if youre in the field? Does the kitchen food ever get old or redundant during the work week?
Hi, I'm studying petroleum engineering freshman year. I have a question regarding lifestyle in the industry. Is it possible to hit swimming pool regularly while working in oil and gas? If there isn't such option on a rig, do you know maybe an other path in the field that could enable me to keep on training swimming aside from working as a petroleum engineer?
LMAO!! The closest you will get to swimming in the oilpatch is falling into a tank full of usually corrosive fluids. There are no pools, hot tubs, or even normal bath tubs, even in the huge 5000 man camps! You get hot showers, most of the time, and usually pretty good food. Make friends with the camp staff, they are the ones keeping you alive. If you piss off the lead cook, your entire crew will get canned medium warm soup and lousy sandwiches for a week! Trust me on this one! We ran a trouble maker/whiner off our crew and the food increased quality the next day!
Thanks for posting, i actually work for the same sector in Colombia, South America in Ecopetrol SA. I just want to know if Mc gills have a enginering camp on Edmonton?.
Hi! Seems like an awesome camp! I'm wondering, if your were able to change something (rather than getting more healthy food, which I'm totally supporting hahaha) what would it be?
What do you think about indigenous people always wanting to protest an stop the Alberta pipelines going through BC invading unceeded territory an kanahus manuel tiny house warriors ?
I wish u guys have a look to Saudi Aramco camps. It’s just unbelievable! only types of coffee and coffee machines are worth as much as this whole food I’ve seen in this video
Why are you lying ? In your one vidioe, you show "Claudia". Her name is covered up, and she dose not look like an oilfield engineer. Also the comments where disabled.
not sure about the US but in Canada, the industry is suffering and petroleum engineers are finding it extremely difficult. I am an I&C engineer and have been unemployed for almost 2 years. Dont come to Canada with that degree, options are very very limited in this industry unfortunately. Try your luck in the US.
