Thänx, another banger review! Interesting thoughts, are they true or not, really don't matter to me. For me the music itself is the key factor, the lyrics are of second interest. If Tarja been such an inspiration for Tuomas to write music, I think Tuomas has found other inspiration sources after that, the music has really evolved after this album, in a nice direction, my opinion.
I don't know why but every time I listen to Higher Than Hope, I just vision angels like from the Renaissance just flying around the Earth and watching it slowly fade away with war and chaos. I see that especially when the chorus kicks in. Am I the only one lol? Possibly my favorite track on the record.
Great break down May, Ive just listened to this album and have to say it has highs and lows for me. The first 4 songs are great but then the sound becomes quite cinematic ,like im watching a western film. At Romanticide it redeems itself ,a great song. Ghost Love Score ,as you said ,is a classic. Dont enjoy the last track. As an album its lackluster however has some excellent classics. Cheers May
yes Tarja said that she wanted to make 10 years in Nightwish but Tuomas fired her with this disgusting open letter...in which Tuomas himselflater admitted that it was very badly handled ,if you watch endof the era tour then you see that Tuomas is crying on stage during the Ever Dream , it seems like Tarja had husband anyway and Tarja wanted to start her solo career after the next album also the reason why Tarja probably wanted tofly separately fromthemis that Nightwish men were very big party animals but Tarja seemed tobe kinda introvert,I think that she just didnt want to be in this environment , inmy opinion Tuomas sounded in that ketter like crazy ex-boyfriend , but I have forgiven that, I was very bitter after what he id to Tarja and I remember that many friends ofmine stopped listening as well until they hired Floor and admitted that ythey didTarja dirty , Floor or was it Tuomas who even said that bthey willnever perform bye bye beautifullive again either out of respect for Tarja and they havent done that but yes Once is definetly my favorite nightwish album another one would be the Human II Nature, also Tarja was one of three originalmembers of Nightwish with Tuomasand Emppu and Emppu was really much against firing Tarja as I have understood and coupleof years ago I saw Tarja and Marco on stage together even in Finland during Raskasta Joulua so I think that they wounds have healed, she even keepsin touch with Tuomas I heard fromone interview she did , I love Floor and all the new members( except Troy) but originallineup will always be closest tomy heart
I always saw the line *Mankind Works In Mysterious Ways* as a sarcastic line referencing the famous line *God Works In Mysterious Ways*. Tuomas likes to poke at religion in songsb especially the older songs and the newer tracks. That's what I think.
