This movie taught me that when you deny closure or is being denied closure by someone who you’ve loved so much and that person left without any explanation the feelings will not die down even with time but instead gets buried in our heart and subconscious mind.
However those buried feelings of hurt and confusion will hunt you back even at a slightest glimpse the moment you see that person again.
So even though we always hear that time helps us move on, unfortunately in some instances it may not simply be enough.
So resolve things while you can. It’ll save you months and years of mind boggling, earth shattering heartbreak and endless contemplation. Did I also mention the withdrawals? Yes. Please save yourself from those too.
But if there’s nothing to save, give that closure to yourself. Even without the need to get that from that certain person. You deserve to be loved at the right time when you’re ready again.
EDITED: Its been 2 years since I commented this and was completely shattered and in a brink of depression because of the heartbreak BUT I’m now in a very happy and healthy relationship with a man who happened to be a childhood friend, got a dog and got myself in med school. THINGS DO GET BETTER. And just like me, you will get through this also❤️

Kasi totoo, naisip ko kung sana lang pala napag-usapan namin kung bakit edi sana hindi ako naiwan na hanging sa mga tanong na hindi niya na sagot. Even tho i have no feelings for him right now nandoon pa din yung thought kung bakit. Siguro dahilan din kung bakit SOBRANG tagal kong hindi makaget over dahil don. Now I know the reason behind the phrase " Hanapin ko muna yung sarili ko" as one of those lines na ginagamit sa closures. You tend to forget yourself while prioritizing your partner. That you even forget your own dreams for the sake of your partner and your relationship. Kudos to Frank for knowing when to let go. As we seek for love from our partner, nababawasan na yung pagmamahal natin sa ating sarili. And we don't deserve a half-love. Mahirap talagang magmahal ng taong hindi pa tapos magmahal sa ex nila no? I feel the pain kahit never akong nagkarelationship. Congrats sa director, actresses and actors and all the staff! Few lines but the cinematography and emotions are lit!
I've been there loving someone who is not over sa past nila, it's painful and difficult to the point sobra ka na epektuhan even my mental health. Ngayon sila na ulit ng ex niya parang naging waiting shed niya lang ako nung panahon hindi pa siya okay.

Sa ganda ng film, kinalimutan kong i-skip ang mga ads just to give back to the filmmakers for producing such a well told piece. This film speaks of emotionally charged, natural yet poetic realities. Kudos TBA!

Napaka perfect ng napili nilang setting for the confrontation. Honestly, feeling ko never na yun darating then BAM! Para bang dumating out of nowhere pero hindi dahil kanina mo pa siya inaanticipate. Perfect mirror ng kung paano nila secretly hinihintay sa buhay nila ang makita ulit ang isa't isa for that exact same reason-magkalinawan.
Yung building sa eskolta, dating maganda. It was once celebrated. Binuo ng ilan sa mga pinaka creative na tao. Hinangaan. Pero ngayon, ni haligi wala na. Sira na. Kaya na lang nananatiling nakatayo ay dahil sa simbolo ito ng alaala ng kahapong hindi na maibabalik, suportado ng maninipis at mahinang pag-asa na baka may kinabukasan pang mararating... Parang relationship ni sam and Issa.

I still remember when we were together watching this movie at 3 am and saying "Paano kaya kung sa atin mangyare to?" and look. Now we're just a stranger in the story that we never expect to happen. But I'm still hoping that she will come back kasi siya lang yung gusto kong makasama sa mga susunod pa na dulo ng taon.

Kuhang-kuha yung reaction na makita mo yung taong minsan mong minahal sa isang lugar na hindi mo inaasahan. Ramdam mo yung kaba, yung hindi mapakali, hindi mo alam kung titingin ka sa mata niya... Grabe sobrang ganda ng script. Kahit sobrang tagal na ninyong wala if the feeling was being denied and once the person in your past will see you again babalik at babalik pa rin yung feelings na yon pero baka pagbalik mas pipiliin mo na kung alin yung mas importante sayo. Minsan talaga lack of closure yung pumipigil satin para makalimutan yung tao na yon. :)

You have that one person na pag nakita mo babalik lahat ng memories. Yung saya at sakit kaya if you have the chance na ayusin pa ng maaga please do it. You might regret it if nawala na yung oras nayon. Also allow yourself to heal and be fix coz one day you'll be genuinely happy again.
Love this movie. I watched this dahil sa manila feels and ganda pa nung song. Pero I stayed because of the story and how great the actors are. The cinematography is also on point. This is a gem.

can we talk about the last line: "para makita ang liwanag sa dilim", both literally and metaphorically, binuksan ni Anna yung pinto sa madilim na classroom kung nasaan si Sam, habang malungkot sya at di sigurado, kasama ng liwanag mula sa labas ng kwarto, dumating si Anna.

The usual way is letting unfinished emotions to finished closures. However, sometimes, the finished way for a relationship is letting it unfinished. It hurts but it’s true.
Ang sakit nito para kay Sam at Isa. Pero putcha, mas masakit kila Ana at Frank. Ano bang kasalanan nila, minahal nila yung mga taong hindi pala sila handang mahalin nang buo. Tang ina, all those years akala nila okay lahat, na iisang direksyon sila, na same destination yung ending nila, tapos dahil lang sa isang pagkikita, magbabago lahat.
Lahat ng pangarap at pinaniwalaan nila, sila lang pala. 💔

Meron. Nagmahal ka sa taong alam mong hindi pa pala handang magmahal ng iba. I know Ana knows that yet she still accepted him wholeheartedly. Ganun talaga, she take risks. And even if we take risks that doesn't mean we will win in the end. Kaya for me, it is really important to guard your heart. And pray so God will guide you to be ready and of course ma-lead ka sa tamang tao sa tamang panahon. Kaya wag tayo magmadali magmahal or mag move on. Cherish natin ang waiting season natin because during the waiting season doon nabubuo ang pagkatao nating nawala nung nagmahal tayo nang sobra sobra.

this is an underrated film! it deserves more recognition SO GOOD!!!! very well-written and though it exploits a usual conflict of old love rekindled, it narrates a different and BETTER storytelling. literally, i was waiting for the next scene every minute huhuhu and can i just say the actors are appropriately picked for their respective roles. kudos to the writers, the director, artists, & every single one who put this together. You should all be proud of yourselves for creating such a beautiful Filipino film. great movies are hard to come by these days. so sorry i was late to the party. but hey def recommending this to my friends!

This part of poetry makes me realize that people either come to give us a lesson or to give us a reward of a lifetime. But when the right person comes, in an unexpected moment, in a place where you're doomed in the darkness, in a situation when your what ifs and hopes are deranging you, it will open up another path, wherein the right person is waiting you there holding a lamp to lend it with you...

That's why closure is very important in every ended relationship - not only as ex partners but closure as individual as well. Also, I don't think yung instamce ng nagkita si Sam and Isa was the main reason why Frank let go of their relationship. Instead, it was a compiled unfinished business as a person that just bursted out because it was triggered. As my prof in college said to us ,"In a relationship, even if you are married, you must maintain individuality." Dyan kasi papasok yu g situation na "I got lost, we got lost, I need to find myself" kapag maxado tayo constricted and neglec5ed our own growth as a person. Just like dancing tango, it won't be graceful if both of you are out of rhythm. For me, walang naging kasalanan si Isa and Sam. They just need answers. Situations like this will really test how sturdy your current relationship in terms of facing a past unfinished crisis.

They were at fault nung una, sa first movie, Sam was told na naghintay na lang muna sana sya na maghiwalay officially si Isa and Frank, si Isa naman sana tinapos na lang muna nya ng maayos ang sa kanila ni Frank before having relationship with Sam. If ganon sana hindi sila nag suffer from the complications of cheating.
nagets ko na yung story punyemas! Ok let’s start:
First movie: ang kwento nating dalawa
so si Sam isang teacher sa isang university at estudyante nya si Isa. Knowing the fact na may “secret relationship sila”. Secret kase one: prof ni Isa si Sam, second: may boyfriend pa si Isa(which is si Frank na naging estudyante rin ni Sam). Sa unang part ng movie entitled ANG KWENTO NATING DALAWA, naexplain yung past nila at kung bakit complicated yung love story nila. The reason why complicated is because: una e hindi pa tinatapos ni Isa yung relationship nila ni Frank and pumasok sya into a secret relationship with her teacher na si Sam (cheating yun at alam at nilalaban yun ni Sam), second they both can’t decide kung anong magiging FUTURE nilang dalawa (one chooses na lumayo or to go to US as an answer sa problem nila and yung isa naman willing e-let go yung dreams nya to attend his fellowship to Berlin para sa babaeng mahal nya). Kaya sa movie e di makapag decide si Sam kung pupunta ba sya or hindi. Sa madaling salita, si Isa yung type ng lover na “flight mode” kapag may problem at si Sam yung “fight mode” or willing harapin yung problema.
Sa first movie, may pinagawang activity si Sam sa mga estudyante nya which is sumulat ng kwento. Si Isa na kabilang sa kanyang mga estudyante e naguguluhan sa takbo ng kwento ng sinusulat nya, so si Sam ay nag suggest na “bakit hindi nalang story natin yung isulat mo?” , “short timeframe, may what ifs and hows, giving the room for the character to grow”. So sa last part ng first movie nung ipapasa na yung mga assignment scene, dun nakita ni Sam yung gawa ni Isa- which also describes their love story (entitled: the story of us that never was). Kung mapapansin mo dun sa last part e hindi na binasa ni Sam yung story or yung flow ng kwento, nagmadali syang i-check yung ending and AGAD NYANG BINURA YUNG PART NA “THE END” - meaning na ayaw nyang matapos ng ganun nalang yung kwento nila ni Isa at magkaroon ng MAS MAGANDANG ending sa love story nila, it also means na open sya for possibilities na maaaring bumalik muli si Isa sa buhay nya at magsimula ulit. While Isa didn’t know how to end her story, pinilit nya nalang i-end yung kwento kase di nya alam yung mangyayare sa sinulat nyang istorya.
Second movie: Tayo sa Huling buwan ng Taon
Nag start and nag-end yung movie sa tula, yung pinaka magandang part e “sa simula ng katapusan at kapusan ng simula”
5 years na ang lumipas sa istoryang Isa at Sam. Parehas nadin silang may bagong buhay at kasintahan. Wala ng komunikasyon sa dalawa. Si Sam na dating college prof e naging Shs teacher at si Isa ay nakauwi na from US at naging advertising or ad campaign employee (basta something like that). Nagkabalikan si Isa at si Frank , at si Sam naman ay nagkaroon ng bagong simula sa kasama nyang teacher na si Ana.
Nasira ang lahat sa isang malalim na pag uusap at pag kikita. Yung feeling na matangal mong kinimkim yung “what ifs and hows mo” tapos nung nagkaroon ka ng pagkakataon ( sa unexpected time and place) na itanong yun sa taong mahal mo parin kahit na lumipas na yung 5ng taong ‘di pag kikita ay biglang sumabog ka nalang dahil sa masidhing emosyon. Ito yung nangyare sa kanilang dalawa (yung binalikan nila yung favorite nilang gusali bago sila umuwi).
Pinipilit nila parehong makalimot, gamit yung mga taong handang magmahal sa kanila ng buong buo at yung bagong buhay nila sa kasalukuyan. Pero hindi naging ganun ang kinalabasan ng pag nanais nila. Dahil hindi natapos ang istorya nilang dalawa, dinala nila yung ganung pag-asa at mga katanungan nung muli silang nagkita.
Kung babalikan yung tula, ang simula ng katapusan ay nangyare nung ninais ni Isa na umalis papuntang america (at ninais na tapusin kung anong meron sa kanila ni Sam) sa unang part ng movie at nangyare ang kapusan ng simula nung nakilala ni Sam si Ana sa second part ng kwento (dahil akala nya na makakalimot na sya sa kanyang nakaraan sa tulong ni Ana).
Isa- bilang representasyon ng pag-iisa ni Sam at Ana-bilang kanyang(Sam) “sana” upang magkaroon ng pag-asang muling bumangon at magpatuloy.
Kung naging madugo ang kwentong ito kay Isa at Sam. Mas naging nakakadurog sa puso ang lahat kina Frank at Ana. Una, biktima sila ng pag-ibig sa mga taong bilanggo ng nakaraan at pangalawa, pinilit na gawin at isakripisyo ang oras, pangarap at buhay nila upang mahalin sila ng taong minamahal nila ng buo. Si Ana na ginawang ispirasyon si Sam upang lumaban at umabante sa hamon ng buhay at handang maging araw na magbibigay liwanag sa taong mahal nya, at si Frank na handang isakripisyo ang pagiging piloto at designer ng laruang eroplano dito sa Pilipinas upang masamahan si Isa na magkaroon ng buhay sa ibang bansa kahit di nya alam kung anong magiging buhay at trabaho nya doon or sa madaling salita, sumunod para sa magiging career ni Isa.
Sa totoo lang kahit na may Ana si Sam at may Frank si Isa, ay nais parin nilang maging sila o magkaroon ng pagkakataon na magkasama sa huling ng buwan ng taon (end of the year). Pansin nyu ba na never pinakita or sinabi sa kwento na nag celebrate si Sam at Isa ng NEW YEAR? Di ba never? It means na never natuldukan ang love story nila kase hindi pa sila ready both na ituloy or tapusin lahat....

I just stumbled this movie at 4 am. Putsa, it hit me. Flashback of my past relationships. Then I just felt empty after i saw it. Returning in my past just made me realized that I never end it well and good. God forbids, will never met any of them, because it will bring pain and sorry. Thanks for the movie...

The story really touches the hearts of everyone especially those people who have experienced such relationships. I can't say anything more about the story itself because it's perfect for me. Cinematography is superb! Loved those cityscape shots and that one-take shot in the bar scene is amazing! I'd love to see more from you with such cinematography and storytelling!
It's a story that shows you what is, what could've been, and what was. Something all who loved someone once longs to see.
It's the reason why it hurts. Because one way or another, you will sympathize with one or more character in the story.
Congrats to the whole cast and crew of this movie. Spectacular.

Love the story, cinematography, and also the fact that the actors acted super natural so very realistic yung feel. Also the emotions the film was conveying is sobrang bigat. I missed feeling broken hearted like this from a movie lol. Superb!

What makes this movie and AKND a lot better is the setting of each scene. It is just satisfyingly realistic and make us feel that we are one with the characters.

I never used to watch Filipino love story movies but if so, it should be this peculiar and aesthetic.
I have been waiting for this movie for like an eternity. I watched the part one years back and it was exquisite!
Para sakin the movie is all about guilt and regrets then suddenly someone comes along the way to fill in those singularities then it was like "we are the love at the wrong time at the second time around" so realistic you'll feel the pain inside of your "what ifs" but you can't do nothing kasi you are already locked up with somebody's chain. Damn "what if"
It was a series of inceptions of heartaches.
This movie shows us the reality of love. Sobrang mahalaga ng closure lalo na kung ikaw 'yong taong nakaranas ng break up tas hindi mo alam ang dahilan bakit kayo natapos sa ganon lang. Walang araw na hindi mo naiisip na bakit ganon anong dahilan? This movie tells us that love is very unconditional and makes us believe that we are deserve to be love and loved. Goosebumps sa movie na 'to ngayon ko lang napanood nahihilig kasi ako sa mga Pinoy Movies. Congratulations 👏

The book that Isa recommended was entitled, "For The Temporary Ones" 😂 Hindi na binasa ni Sam yung title kasi masyado syang nadistract kay Isa when they saw each other (again, by accident) sa bookshop. Tapos aalis na sana si Isa nun pero bigla sya inivite ni Sam kumain. So ung pag bigay ni Sam ng regalo kay Anna, mema na lang yun..🙄😂

Super tagal na ng movie na to, and ilang beses ko na din siya napanood with my friends. Dati sila ang iyak ng iyak sa movie na to, ngayon ako na. At ngayon mas naintindihan ko na ang bigat pala talaga ng movie na to. Sobrang sakit pala talaga. Lalo na kapag same situation yung nangyari about sa life mo and sa movie na to, talagang hindi man natin sabihin mismo sa mga bibig natin ang dapat sabihin pero hinihintay pa din talaga natin na magkita ulit sa isat isa someday. Sana patuloy na ang pag usad ko kahit wala akong closure na nakamit.
If napanood niyo yung Ang Kwento Nating Dalawa which is first part nitong TSHBNT, i know some part of the movie were confusing lalo na nung umuwi si Sam galing kila Isa, and he opened his laptop and parang shocked na shocked siya. The thing is hindi na in-explain or pinakita yung dahilan sa movie but according to some blogger, sinagot ni Sir Nestor Abrogena (the director of the movie) along with the casts during Q&A kung ano ba talaga yung nakita ni Sam and that scene raw was an email from their school (the laptop scene with sam nung umuwi siya with his shocked face after), nalaman ng school yung secret relationship ni Isa at Sam at nag warning about the policy of the school na bawal magkaroon ng relationship ang estudyante at teacher. Kaya nung pumasok si Sam sa school nagtitinginan din yung mga estudyante pagpasok niya after that scene cause kalat na yung relationship nila sa school.

i watched this movie when it was shown in the cinema and i remember how when the movie ended the three of us ( i don't know them), who were the only people that watched the movie at that time was just standing in the middle of the movie theather not wanting to get out, looking at the blank screen, speechless. it was so beautiful that i got lost with words to express what i felt.
I kinda see myself in the characters. :>
The script's well written and properly executed! The story gives out a heavy feeling. Anyways, 10/10! It needs more credit and views! Glad I was here before it reaches a million!

so authentic. real, too real. its been months after i broke up with that one person i thought I'll spend my entire life with. this movie gave me a foreshadowing of what we would be in the next few years. I'll probably be with someone, she'll also probably love someone already. and that scene where Isa and Frank reconnected and cried over the phone as their final closure, it made me think that it's impossible to forget someone you've once truly, greatly, and deeply loved. you can move forward, but they'll still occupy space in your mind and heart.
i don't know when I'll heal or when i can confidently move forward without the urge to look back and run back to that person. i have a lingering fear that i'd continue to seek her in every person i meet in the future. and that will be greatly unfair for those people we meet.

Great raw and honest acting, superb directing, beautiful setting and music. I will watch more Pinoy movies like yours, clean and nothing obscene compared to those from popular actors. I rarely watch Filipino love movie like this. It's a thumbs-up for me. The acting of the characters are so realistic. Heartbreaking but not cheesy romantic film. Worth the time, folks.
