Great show lads Happy New year Great win over Watford if we can get a early goal QPR should win Luton is always a tough game Who ever turns up on the night hope it's us Let's hope it's a good game
It should be a good game under the lights at Loftus Road - if we can score early again it will be a cracking atmosphere. Hopefully we can do it. We go 13th with a win, quite unbelievable really.
Happy new year guys great to hear your thoughts on this podcast coyrs 3 points again at home show em the masterclass good to see Michael frey bk and grabbing a goal after 5 minutes urrrrsssss
@@stevewells5450 happy new year and thank you! Yes Frey was back to his early season form where he verges on unplayable, hope he can stay fit this time.
Nice way to start the new year good win at Watford glad frey is back hopefully we can kick on and pull us further away from the bottom 3 glad to get a defender in nice and early think Edwards will be a good signing hopefully next we can get a striker in going 2 1 against Luton we seem to be getting better at home now
I think Frey will probably take another couple of games to become both match-fit and match-sharp. Chair is already almost there imo. (We have the same issue at the back with Fox (almost there) and JCS (still a few games away from match-sharpness!) That said, as a unit the team is working together and achieving well.
It's just nice to talk about players coming back to full fitness instead of how long they be out for was surprised when I saw colback was on the bench thought he was still a few weeks away from being in the squad
@@bryanfisher4521 From the footage of QPR I've watched lately they look to (a) have better shape (b) more fluid attacking plays Hopefully the injury situation stabilises even more and selection and subs can be tactical rather than "fire brigade" jobs.
Enjoyable, informative, watch as usual. Whether it's James and Dave, or Bryan and George, the content is knowledgeable and balanced. I especially enjoyed your segment on the squad values vs performance.
Thanks chaps - I have a strong dislike for Luton which goes back to the Eighties so I would love to beat them again. I am going for a 2 v 1 Rangers win.
Happy New Year, guys. On the Luton game, just on word, "complacency ". We've won our last 4 home games, and thats great. Just need to be wary of Luton, because they need points too, regarding there're lowly position.
great verdict lads if we win monday it will be absoloutley huge considering we have got 2 winnable away games coming up in plymouth and hull i think it will be nervy but we will get the job done ill go for a 2-0 win us fans have deserved the form were having at loftus road
As good as home has been our away form dropped horribly, hardly attacking and being dominated. Hull and Plymouth be just as hard as Leeds or Burnley away
Thanks Bryan and George. Really good to open up on the whole parachute system and how it feeds clubs who have already made their money from the Premiership. Clearly, the EFL model needs to be looked at. Always wonder if a European spot could be reserved for a non-promoted Championship team on the basis of the overall value of this league in European terms. Maybe a crazy idea. Anyway, I'm hoping for an Rs victory against what will be a tough one against Luton.
@@seanhowlett6293 It's something that absolutely cannot be just 'this is how it is so we just keep it as it is'. There needs to be some proactive ideas and thoughts on parachute payments from the authorities. Can't see it happening though.
@seanhowlett6293 it needed to be said but, as James suggests, I cannot see the EFL being any more proactive than the FA currently operates. Part of the problem is getting so many EFL clubs organised to act in unison...
Regarding parachutes, I think the solution is that they should be bought with points. E.g. one point deducted for every £10m received, or whatever matches the scale of the standard P&S points deduction punishments. Relegated teams are free to choose to receive any amount between 0 and the maximum, for the corresponding points deduction.
This is a good idea. Parachute payments are just creating a bigger divide between the divisions so this would help balance the financial benefits Vs points.
Great to see the current performances. part of me is worried in cases we get to edge of playoffs, because if we then finish 7th our dumb@ss owners are just as likely to look for a new manager!
@AIKIDOSILVERDALE they had the chance in November to get rid of Cifuentes when the results were just not happening, but they held faith. If (and it is a big if) we made 7th then I think a lot of fans would be delirious with happiness - including me!
Morgan is ours. He was originally signed as a development squad player but quickly impressed during pre season and got game time with alfie tuck. Think morgan has benefited from the fact that madsen is completely out of his depth in this type of league. He doesn't have the pace, aggression or work rate that you need. Morgan had taken his chance. Fair play to him. If you looked at both players and didn't know which one we paid money for you wouldn't believe it was 2.5m for madsen and not Morgan.
For anyone interested, I came across this video of Loftus Road filmed by a guy who organises charity "pitch days". Footage of the dressing rooms and different angles of an empty Loftus Road. ua-cam.com/video/hr8oHEqqiSA/v-deo.htmlsi=1zCbRL3XQyKffKdr
I think we have to take the game to them it will be a hard battle cos they are a aggresive team and we dont want to get pulled in by them but i am hopeing for a win i think 2-1

@stevewells5450 thanks Steve and HNY to you too! That early goal made all the difference!!
What I liked about the Watford game is that We scored right after We conceded
@@patrickcremin5981 yes very un-QPR-like! Usually after conceding like that we'd think 'here we go' so it was a good sign
@patrikcremin5981 that is a good point made - responding like that is the mark of a side growing in confidence.

Great podcast as always boys - Happy New Year to you both
@@SKSK-rz7br thanks and Happy New Year 😃
@SKSK-rz7br thanks and a Happy New Year to you too! This was a lot easier to record than some in 2024! ;)
Good rationalisation of the imbalance caused by parachute payments.
I think we shall win 2-0 against Luton as an aside!
We haven't kept a clean sheet over Christmas so it would be nice to get one.
2-0 sounds good to me, but I would settle for 1-0 too! ;)
Thanks chaps - I have a strong dislike for Luton which goes back to the Eighties so I would love to beat them again. I am going for a 2 v 1 Rangers win.
I think 2-1 will be a popular prediction but something just isn't right at Luton and if they switch it on they will be dangerous.
Loving the superhoops at the moment and all the online content is awesome! I think we'll beat scummy Luton 3 - 0. You rrrrs!

Didn't realise they had lost 9 away games in a row too, that has alarm bells ringing as we usually love to end runs like that for teams 😬

@OwenBurton-q9p do agree, only I would point out that lowly Hull beat us 3-1 at LR in October and, after all, this is QPR we are talking about! ;)

What we need is for Eze to be sold for 60M which would give us 12M to spend on transfers.
@richardchartres4010 he is currently playing really well and you would expect a top side to come shopping!
