- @AmericasTestKitchen recommended the nonstick GreenPan Valencia Pro so I bought a set. Here's my review.
America's test kitchen does great reviews so when they tested the GreenPan Valencia Pro skillet and recommended it I decided to buy a whole set. Unfortunately, As soon as I opened the box I knew I would have to send them back. 2 of the pens were chipped as soon as I took them out of the packaging.
I decided to test out one of the skillets to see how it performed. I fried an egg and scrambled an egg with no oil because that is what my viewers ask when I'm reviewing nonstick pans. I also made a crispy cheddar cheese tortilla and a 7 egg frittata.
Here is my affiliate link to the GreenPan set on Amazon if you want to check it out for yourself.

Any new nonstick Pan works. The question is how long will it last? However, giving it a negative overall rating due to shipping damage seems to overlook the purpose of the review. Are you reviewing the function of the pan or the shipping quality from the company?
Not even the company could’ve just been thrown around by the delivery drivers
Great Point!
Seriously haha
@@Musica20009I’ll be honest about something, I’ve worked for many warehouse companies and no employee gives a $* how your package is handled. We had such unrealistic goals to meet when picking/stocking, everything got tossed! It’s not the companies fault, it’s the employees handling the packages.
I agree. This was not a review. This was a waste of time.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review of these pots and pans!!! Very helpful!!!
Thank you for the review and also a glimpse of your raised garden - love that your are cooking with the veggies from it.
I keep finding these reviews where everyone has super high expectations but no matter which pan they try it's "a total disappointment" But then no one ever gives their go-to pans. It's always, this bad me no like. And done. I really would love to know what pans ARE good. After doing these reviews it would be great if someone says these are trash, here is what I use regularly. Anyways, thanks for the video
These pans are not trash, the damage was done before boxing and who knows what caused to the damage, right? The cooking tests showed the pan works great, although it's clear the pan was way too hot for the single egg and scramble test. Keep in mind that sometimes in these videos, bad technique can make a bad experience.
@Brutalgruve thank you so much hun your comment makes sense. People don't realize when they buy items from Amazon sometimes those items come from people's homes and have been unboxed and mishandled at some point I'm going to try them
Yeah...for the chip, really? That obviously was the delivery truck most probably the guy was kicking the box, but it actually pass the cooking test, she just need to return it and get another one, we viewers just need to learn what to pay attention and what not to. What she was right, maybe it has to many frying pans...
My sister has a tramontina cookware set, it’s cost $99 dollars on Amazon. I’m thinking of getting the same one. My apologies for any grammatical errors, I’m non native speaker
America's test kitchen are legitimate reviewers. They test and compare all of the gear, they know what they're doing. This lady had no critisizm of the actual pan, it's just kabuki theater.
My Greenpan from Costco is absolutely gorgeous, perfect & cooks like a dream.
Which set of Green Pan did you purchase from Costco?
Thank you for your honest review. Greetings from The Netherlands.
Seemed to work out to me. The only thing was the chipping, which could have been from a variety of sources. The pans themselves seem to work great. Shame the chipping set a negative tone.
I used mine twice and it chipped .hmmm
thank you so much for this review
Aww, I'm sorry to see that it arrived defective. We have a slightly different variety of greenpan that we bought at Target and we love them. Thanks for another great video! ✨💜
Hi David!!
I may have just got a bad batch. Do you remember which set you had?
I would never bother with buying a set of pots and pans. I much prefer to find the best single items that I can for every usage, that way I don't clutter my kitchen storage with things I'll never ever use. What I don't understand is that these pans seemed to perform well in every way that you tested them, so why 'fail' them based on damage that could have happened at any time after they left the factory? If you want to review these products, why not just buy a single pan, instead of whole sets that have to be shipped and re-shipped and dealt with by warehouses and delivery people?
Clarifying here is that what America’s Test Kitchen recommended was only one of the pans, not the whole set.
ATK tests only one pan to test the materials used in that particular product. It shouldn't matter if they tested just one pan, or one pot. The test is for the non-stick coating and how the materials perform.
Got my set and I love it.
So, performance wise, seems a very good set. Had it not been damaged in shipping, would your recommendation have been different? Seems, yes.
Thank you 👍.
Your egg dish there looks like a culinary masterpiece I bet it’s very delicious👍😊
Thanks so much for your kind words and thank you for watching!
Thank you for the true and honest review, price point is a big factor. I have purchased a $800 set and returned after 2 weeks. They did not preform as good as these. Thank you!
Thank you so much for watching
Hi so what non stick no toxic pans would you recommend???
That's my question too.
mine too she doesn't seem to like anything she reviews and just sends it back for a full refund
@@oliviapena4613 seems very sus if you ask me!
@@oliviapena4613 they say ceramic pans

Have you review the Red Copper & Gotham Steel cookware?
Gostei da explicação! Me tirou várias dúvidas. Obrigado, Deus abençoe!...
do you know where i can find " the original greenpan cooker " 5 in one manual?Thank you
No matter what cast iron is always the true winner in my book.
Thanks for watching!
The pan looks fine to me. I will be buying this pan. The healthy aspects of the nonstick ceramic sound great to me.
What healthy aspects? What makes it any healthier to use vs other pans if you use them correctly?
I totally agree I watch the whole video and don’t get why she sending it back. The healthy aspect is why I purchased this product as well. Ceramic versus Teflon is way better. Stainless steel versus aluminum is way better. Less harmful chemicals leaching into your food as you cook
I’m pleased with mine and would recommend it 😊
According to Test Kitchen they hit the pans and they had to pass that test to get their recommendation . The fact that banging during shipment caused the chipping is problematic.
Great video and great information
I'm so glad you found the video helpful. Thanks for watching!
I bought the 11 piece Valencia Pro set at Costco on Black Friday $129.00. I had Hexclad because I thought they were free of pfa's, but found that not to be true, even though I loved them, I returned them and bought the Greenpan set because they were on sale. So far I really like them, no complaints. Sorry your delivery was a failure, I hate when something shows up damaged, it's frustrating.
I just finished your video on caraway, looked at a review for “best cookware 2020” and saw greenpan, and now I’m back! Great, honest content! Thanks so much for all the love you put into your food and reviews!
I would say don’t be afraid of oil use EVO it won’t hurt you adds plenty of flavor and just works wonders in the pan
I agree!
Even Hexcald instructions are to coat with lite oil before cooking.
My viewers request that I show how it works with no oil
A little too critical. It was cracked, a lot of things come in the mail cracked. It's not cast iron. It seemed to cook great. I just need a 3 piece frying pan set. I think this will be fine for that.
"Magneto" is simply a trade name for adding iron to the pan's base so that it can be heated on an induction cooktop (which bare aluminum, copper or some stainless cannot). Figured anyone doing serious cookware reviews would have picked this up.
I would've sent the set back as well only for the chipping issue. Aside from that, I thought the pan performed very well. I would purchase this!
I agree with you. The performance of the pan went well but the chipping concerns me.
Thank you for watching!
What pan non toxin and doesn’t stick would you suggest
This brand is actually very good. The damaged pans… I would blame Amazon. They aren’t trust worthy with any product. They don’t always sell directly… check and see if it was was a 3rd party seller.
Don't think Amazon has anything to do with how a manufacturer loads items into their own packaging. It's the manufacturer's fault.
You’re absolutely right. I’ve got a crazy kitchen a collection of this and that and the other modern things and antiques and most the time if I cook an egg and bacon or bake a thick pork chop in the oven I’m in my big lodge cast iron skillet it’s well seasoned and you can do all kinds of things with it however if I’m making messy things things that are hard to clean up or acidic foods I use a large nonstick ninja skillet very easy cleanup how ever as you say to have 11 pans like that man I just don’t know where I’d put them probably put them out in the garage or shoved in the back of the closet on top of a stack of something else.
It really is a huge set! I usually reach for the same 2 pans over and over again.
Good review thanks. Apparently ceramic non sticks don't last very long, its a shame.
I would like to buy one but don't want to replace every 6 months.
I've had my Green Pans for over 12 years and use them daily. They look nearly brand new and they never fail. If you have to replace one of these after 6 months it would be because of user negligence, not the pan. It's unfortunate that the pot in the video had a chip in it ( most likely due to a rough shipping process or poor packing ). If you should decide to buy one of these pans, I recommend buying only the pieces you want or need, one at a time ( in person if possible ), as buying large sets like this , especially through the mail, is fraught with potential problems, no matter the brand. I can't see how she labelled the test a fail, the pan did everything she asked of it. Go figure. I don't know any serious cook that buys their utensils in a packaged set like this and in the video she references , the tester even said they don't recommend buying kitchen in large sets. The tester did not recommend the entire set, they recommend the pan, which she herself demonstrated worked perfectly fine.
@@jefferybarnett6056 In the end I just had to get the ones that ship to where I am in Spain. I got a Stone Earth pan, a Ninja foodi pan and a Navaris cast iron grill pan for steaks. A nice touch was the stone earth came with its own "pan protector" for when you stack them, never had one of those before, great idea, probably storage is a main cause of scratches on all pans.
@@jefferybarnett6056 I totally 💯 agree! Also, the way you care for your cookware affects how long it will perform optimally. I urge people to read & follow the Use & Care instructions that are provided with the items they purchase.
Rather than purchasing a set, I purchased only the cookware pieces that I actually use. It’s more expensive to buy open stock, but at least my limited kitchen storage space won’t be occupied by things I never use.
I've had a green pan for less than a year, the first one was replaced after a couple of months due to handle defects. The second one is about to be returned due to a flakey coating.
The box didn't looked damaged, do you think it was damaged state before it was shipped?
Hi! I agree, the box did not look damaged. The damage to the pan could have been done prior to packaging but I think there wasn't sufficient cushioning materials in the box and they banged against each other during shipment. It's hard to say for sure when the damage happened. Thanks so much for watching!
Any pan set that’s good ?
Besides the dents, these pans seem like a good buy.
Thanks for doing this video! I’m a new subscriber!❤ I just bought the green pan reserve and it definitely is effecting my hormones after one use.. I’m going to take it back today.. I think I’m going to just stick with using stainless steel.
How does it affect your hormones?!? 🤨
@@jfitzikner9 it must be something in the coating… Stainless Steel works best for me
@@miabeia3117 How do you know it's affecting your hormones, just curious?
@@thareealgee just didn’t feel well and always gave me that foggy feeling after I cooked my veggies it. I bought a stainless steel pan instead and felt completely dinner but everyone is different…
Think you've talked yourself into that one.
I just bought these as a gift for someone and mine are chipped and dented. I wonder if she was able to return and get a refund.
What nonstick non toxin pan do you suggest
I know that when it comes to nonstick cookware there is so much out there, if you are really looking for the best outhere and from experience i tell you, so here is only a few i have and best outhere, the ScanPan CTX, Swiss Diamond, the most expensive i have is from Hestan, they are on the expensive side, but they last for years and years, i have owned the ScanPan CTX for 6 years and still doing great job, Swiss Diamond for 4 years and so far still goof, Hestan about 4 years, so i encourage to anyone that its looking for the best nonstick, then look at the brands i mentioned and my wife so happy with her pans
That is a giant set for sure. It's too bad it didn't arrive in better shape.
I've been researching ceramic pans, and I dont think I would ever buy one. they just dont seem very durable, especially for the price. also i feel like there was a weird film forming around the egg in this pan? i know its not bc of you (ive seen your videos, i know you know how to cook LOL)
Returning a whole set because of a chip. Do you ever take a moment to think where these pans go after they are returned?
Exactly. They re-package them and sell them as new to someone else.
It is true Olive Oil is not recomended?
Where it is made, please?
I think some items with high ratings were brought and paid for, for the high ratings.
Did she wash that pan before cooking in it?
That is why i would not buy fom Amazon, there is a big chance you'll get used products
Hello there I just want to say I subscribed to your channel. I found you yesterday because I was checking out the Always pan reviews and I really liked the way that you used a number of items to cook and not just one thing. I also like that you chose to use no oil. I myself do not eat any food that has oil in it so most people when they cook on reviews with nonstick pans still use oil. Unfortunately you did choose to use some oil in one of the recipes on here, but I got to see the eggs without oil so thank you for that. To me a nonstick pan should be able to cook without any added oils. I like the way you do your reviews keep it up you have a new follower :-)
A lot of people seem to be into that dry fried egg why in the world would anybody want that? I got to have a little oil in the pan for my egg mine have to be fried in a little bit of oil or bacon grease or something. That’s a darn shame about those chips looks like a nice set. I just ordered their vintage line small sauce pan with a fake wooden handle I think 1.75 quart with no lid I’m gonna use it to boil hotdogs in as I like mine boiled.
That has been a request of many viewers when I demonstrate these pans but personally i like to add a bit of oil when I fry eggs. Its all personal preference
Why not just get a replacement if sending solely because of the chipping? I’m sure the company would’ve been more than receptive.
I may get a replacement or I might try another version of their cookware. I'm just sharing my experience, thanks for watching
I purchased GreemPans too and they were pure garbage. Everything stuck and i eventually stopped using it.
WOW! I'm so sorry to hear that! I've been meaning to give Greenpans another try to see how well they work.
Thanks for watching!
looks like it did the job to me. Didn't workout because it was chipped?! Ohhh... Come on!
They're chipped. Send them back, I agree. But don't use a pan you know you are going to send back. And why order an 11 piece set if you are going to test a frying pan? Order the frying pan. And why cook without any oil if it is not how you would use it and if it is not what the manufacturer recommends? You may have been trying to replicate the ATK test, and if so, tell us. I don't think it is reasonable to do it just because viewers wanted it. They really want to know what will happen if they buy the thing, and, I hope, they would follow manufacturer instructions and good cooking practice. I loved the things you cooked. I may try those.
So you’re an affiliate and your video link shows “FAIL”. Am I missing something?
Click bait
Very strange. The Green Pan cookware I have looks completely different. Mine does not have the hard edges like that. Mine rolls over so everything is very smooth. Nothing to chip. I went to their website and I see that all the Green Pan cookware now looks like what you are reviewing....which is a shame. They used to be so much better.
The pans worked fine but due to shipping damage you say don’t buy it. Makes no sense👎.
Exactly! I would note that pans immediately start getting nicks as soon as you start using them. I would not return them.
Well a chipped non stick pan is highly toxic. So maybe that’s why she’s failing them. Whether she’s provided that info or not.. since she is failing them for that reason. And if they are chipping due to delivery then they need to package their items better. Also yes it’s supposed to be the healthy alternative to nonstick but I’m not certain it truly is. I guess this is where the questions lie!
The selling point for me is that it doesnt contain cadmium, lead, aluminum, pfas, or pfoa.
I’m literally watching this because of the movie dark waters
I don’t understand what your problem was. It was chipped in shipping that’s all. You’re like bad mouthing the product do to the shipping. Best pan I have ever used was green pan. Try it once more.
Hi Robert. I plan to give these pans another try but I haven't been able to fit them in my schedule yet.
Shipping is part of the problem but packaging and durability are also issues that GreenPan is responsible for. Thank you for watching
Nah these are excellent. Should only be used on low - med heat.
I just bought one yesterday bc I needed a new non stock frying pan immediately. I just cooked with it on low- to medium heat and it heated up and evenly very well.
I have no idea how long the non stick will last . For now, it’s a good pan . I’m reluctant to buy anything else (an entire set) bc of the poor reviews.
Thanks for the review. Ceramic is not for me.
The chips, sad they arrived like that 🕵🏻♂️
Nope sorry , that was not a credible review. ALL ceramic cookware has a few chips near the edge if you stack them. (If you care, you can avoid it by hanging or using pan separators). Fact of life. It also doesnt impact the pan performance at all. Stainless steel and teflon have scratches, and ceramic chips on the edge. Get used to it. Ideally there are no chips on delivery and sure you can send it back for another. If you care about that.
I bought this pan one year ago. I now have to throw it away. I took very good care of it. Never used metal utensils, hand wash only. I expect a frying skillet to fry with oil at a high heat. Apparently this pan couldn't handle that. Everything sticks to it. now. Of course anything new is going to be great. At the beginning this pan was awesome. But after about 3 months, I noticed problems. I used to wash it with a paper towel and little dawn and water. Over time, it became harder and harder to clean it without using "elbow grease". Now I can't clean it with a scouring sponge. The bottom of the pan is scuffed up. I only used wood or silicone spatulas.
lol yeah you dont use these pans at high heat they even advertise not too
Too bad you threw it away. I used mine daily for 20 months and it started sticking. I called GreenPan, sent them a few pics of my sticking eggs, and they sent me a brand new pan with even better technology than the one I bought. This company stands behind their products for 2 years.
Feels like you are cooking the eggs toooooo hot IMO.
This brand was a disappointment, worked at first but the coating disappeared around the rim where the lid rubbed it off. In the cooking area of the pan it flaked off, until I started seeing brown spots where the coating had flaked off and food had stuck. Has put me off buying from this brand again.
Lol, what do you expect from Amazon
My Always pan had the same problem, not impressed with that pan at all.
I TOTALLY agree with you about the Always Pan. I don't think it's a good buy at all. Thanks so much for watching!
It's funny, there were multiple advertisements for the always pan while I watched this video.
Thanks for the heads up 🤣
I don't think she likes anything at this point
how many times do you need to tell us you're sending it back BEFORE you actually test it? You come across as biased even before you start testing. not great.
They're awful and made in China...aaahhh..
OMGs that French coil whisk looks so fun!
