My aunt and uncles home in San Francisco has many of the same design elements. The ceiling medallions, high ceilings and molding and wonderful windows. Great pocket doors as well. I wish newer construction was as nice
me too! Maybe there will be a wave of beautiful craftsmanship in architectural design. Feels like everyone is craving some more beauty in our world (and less sharp edges and glass)
It can never be! Because these buildings were built 200 plus years ago, by humans of different statue (2,5 - 4 meters tall), for their own use. They left in 19th century and the parasites (now in charge) took over. Baron Trump has their genetics Only a few descendants (mixed with ordinary humans) are still in this world. The original ruling giants have left and not looked back. They were betrayed!!
It’s funny because San Francisco was pretty much the only city in America besides Seattle cool enough to not actually need high ceilings (before air conditioning), but they would build ceilings tall anyway because it was the norm and the fashion. Too bad it’s not the norm anymore.
@@AnotherUA-camr-yt6vfit wasn’t only for cooling. It was status and design norms. It’s also a psychological advantage. Tall ceilings have been shown to make people happier.
Things just work like that sometimes. When I was living in Portugal, I went to the bank to open an account, but I could not because I had no address yet. I had been looking for a while with no success. I asked the bank manager that I was talking with that day if he knew anyone that was renting, and his friend from the other desk was. That was how I found my rental!

pretty! love the trim details. i think if you live somewhere the climate stays very warm and hot, high ceiling makes more sense. imo high ceiling apartments are only worth it if you also have enough floor space and proper temperature control/insulation. otherwise the heating escapes to the top during the winter and accessing storage is a pain in the butt.
I looove these! Here in England we have quite a few, but based on location you'd be paying over £1500 rent a month so they're too expensive for most people. But they're gorgeous! Love high ceilings. 😍❤️
@adhiambogwengwalchen probably everything is cheap for me those who can afford it. If it's not inclusive of bills I certainly can't afford £1500 on rent alone. Albeit I'd be very tempted. I'd need to work so many extra hours that the balance would be off. I'd just sleep there, in effect.🙂😵💫
