Why is this car so expensive here when it's an EV ? The base pricr in china according to the daily star is $16,644 and the tax for EVs is 89% so the price should be 16,644×1.89 = 31,457. $31,457 is around BDT 38lakhs. I hope the highest tax for all new cars falls to a very tiny fraction and taka also appreciates back, $1 should go back to 78-84tk.
@@rasheedh7043 I was told by a lot of people on FB that EVs have a tax rate of 89%. And the early tax varies depending on HP for EVs but the import tax is same. Whatever it is I hope it changes and people get to but new cars. Car is a necessity, not a luxury.

Very impressive range, to be honest, considering rhis car has 50kwh battery, current bd electricity price is 8.95tk per kw/unit, so it would cost only 450tk round trip from dhaka to Palace, That's just insane.
I arleay explore some of Byd model in China.. Now I'm using ZEKKER but byd was much comfortable than ZEKKER.. Actually electric car is just a big toy with lot's of problem in Bd. In China it's just a running horse.
Petrol vs electric race will be interesting. especially managing the charging stations, charging time, how nice it is to sit next to one and so on. So many fun variables.
I know a lot of people using audi etrons and other evs and they go to their factories outside dhaka everyday without any issues till date. People are too scared to adopt EVs, but EVs will take over one day and then people will realize their benefits.

89% tax is for 1500cc hybrid not EV.
There’s a different way of calculating EV tax.

Because 420 is the theoretical wltp range. But the actual range depends on the driving style, regeneration, load and a several other factors as well.
