two of the coolest dudes to walk the planet
The coolest
Those 2 are like Prozac to me. F*cking precious.
Corn
Jennifer Mantura- amen, sister! 🙌
makes me so happy that he's wearing a hoodoo gurus shirt
Much much more than the Hoodoo Gurus, which would've been great enough, but the t-shirt is from one of the greatest gigs I've ever been to - the following from the website of Tim Pittman's Feel Presents - Sydney
Enmore Theatre, Notes & Green Room Lounge all on Enmore Road, Newtown
Sunday 22 April 2012
Featuring Hoodoo Gurus playing Stoneage Romeos in it’s entirety + The Sonics, The 5.6.7.8?s, Died Pretty, Redd Kross, Tek & Younger, The Fleshtones, Hard-Ons, The Lovetones, Belles Will Ring, Straight Arrows, Royal Headache, Damien Lovelock (spoken word), alternative comedy, guest DJ’s & More.
THIS is how I find cool music! What's in My Bag is the best! Bless you Amoeba Records, and bless you Redd Kross!
Dear Redd Kross, Thanks to Pandora radio, I never would have heard of you guys. I just viewed your "Jimmy's Fantasy" for the first time featuring a young Jason Lee and how that video and song sounds so way ahead of its time!
"I think what would be a diss by most Animal Collective fans that this record's more 'mainstream' - for me that's a good sign like cause I don't know what stream they've been in, but like I've been waiting for the stream to get a little easier to swim in." Actually a perfect analysis of Animal Collective
if you've heard their podcast, you know the bros' tastes are pretty eclectic. good calls here i'd say.
These two are always a delight!
Steve McDonald is a cool dude. When I saw him after a Melvins show, he told me, “Nice Black Sabbath shirt.” I got one of my Melvins albums signed by Steve.
met him after a redd kross show a couple years ago.....super cool
I liked the fact that Steven picked up bass strings as well.
his bass tech watching this at home is like "wtf :/"
just magical
@@mmaaggiiccddjj I'd be very surprised if Steve had a bass tech! A bass roadie, for sure, all that gear is real heavy, but a bass tech??
@@terrypussypower 🥴
That's what I would do
"When people are called "hipster" for simply offering musical knowledge to the masses, humanity is on the downfall..... run... bitch.... run"
--Albert Einstein.
That is not why they're being called hipsters
These guys have always been cheeky
Yeah that's a great description of the one he's like I don't know what stream they're in now but it might be easier to swim in haha
i just googled reo gimmie head and nothing came up so i rewatched this vid and saw it was just a sticker someon put on the cover
LMAO! "Please stay guys it's really gonna rock!" "Nah man, we gotta go."
First time Id ever heard Redd Kross was at the home of the guys from Urge Overkill....didnt realize those two brothers were in the movie Spirit of '76 with David Cassidy.
The first few notes of Neurotica (song) and I was HOOKED! My sis lived in CA for a few years and came back to OK with that album. Been a fan ever since! Met them AND they’re parents! Awesome family!
I miss Urge Overkill!
Spirt of 1976 brought me here... excellent
I really wanna meet these guys my heroes :)
I just saw you guys for the very first time, in Austin, Tx at the Barracuda.
I loved it.
Love these guys.
I love redd kross
Love these two.
great band that toured with Black Flag, Fear ,Circle Jerks, etc back in the 80's.
I love anyone who also appreciates Dick Cavett
As a guy who has friends who like yacht rock in a non-ironic way, I can totally relate to wanting to "cleanse my palate" after hearing REO Speedwagon.
Saw ReDdkross in Columbia,Mo. At the bluenote1993 or 94! I've seen tons of shows and that was one of the best if not the best(top10fersure)of all-time!! REDdKross rules!!
How cool to see Redd Kross listening to their equal in happy, good vibes - Animal Collective ! Unfortunately Steven chose the darkest AnCo LP, Centipede HZ. Everything else in their bag are LP's I can easily imagine them being into - King Tuff, Ty Segall, James Taylor, etc.
Redd Kross "Choose To Play" from their latest album, "Researching The Blues" (Merge Records)
Brilliant album! :)
I took my sunglasses off to read your comment. And now I'm hooked on these guys you changed my life believe it or not
St.Vincent to the right at 2:13. Yes I'm obsessed. This band is good too.
Cool stuff
Great band!
Good episode
I love them
REO Speedwagon "Nine Lives" is a great album.
Really nice.
haven't heard that ty segall band, but i'm liking Twins a lot
awesome.
Pumpkins Oceania record in the background!
Redd Kross!!!!
When I hear oh who's a Los Angeles band they always enter my head.
Dudes bought all Big Star, Raspberries, Shoes, Records lps , and anything that says Power Pop in the title lol
sometimes he does, depending on his expression, but generally I think he looks pretty damn good (for 50 years of 'rock'n'roll!)
So, why are you guys SO much better DJ's than anyone who is actually working as a DJ, on any radio station in LA? Your fans want to know why you can't save us from mediocrity, by playing records on the radio, the way you did, by playing your own music, in the 80's? (Of course, if you want to continue to save us from mediocrity by just playing your own music, that's cool with me. I'm just noticing how good you are at being DJ's).
OFF! HAS SPOKEN
Los hermanos más geniales de la historia del rock and roll
cool!
theyve got goooood taste
MPP was the commercialized Animal Collective release the world needed, and got.
Fun Cool Nerds!
2:50 I thought Steve said “I’ll probably want to listen to the new ‘I Say Go’ record”! Is there a band called “I Say Go”? If there’s not, there should be!
(It’s actual Ty Segal he’s saying.)
I used to get some great band names by mishearing ACTUAL band names!
I remember a Henry Rollins spoken word gig in London in the 80’s, where Henry misheard the name of the support band “I, Ludicrous” as IRON ICARUS!
I wrote it down as thought it was a great name for a cheesy heavy metal band! Like a Led Zeppelin or Iron Maiden tribute act!
So there you go…two band names going spare for anyone who looking for one.
I SAY GO and IRON ICARUS!
I like these animal collective record
fuck yes
what's the name of the last song please ?
So, the guy in the black tshirt is the one that bangs Charlotte Caffey from the Go Gos...
Didn't know that, really?
what is the name of the song of the 3:19 minute?

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤JM
When I was younger I heard 1976 on my local college radio station and liked the song but thought "man one of them sounds like Paul Stanely" but thought he would never sing on some small band's album. Turns out he is one of their uncles or something like that and they got him to sing on that song. That always bugged me out. Great band. Redd Kross not Kiss...ok maybe Kiss a little.
0:14 😂
misterslats, yes sir, 1984, 80-85,How could hell be any worse, Back to the known, hawthorne
These dudes definitely dye their sideburns
REO Speedwagon. Sheesh.
Not a fan but to be fair, it was their one 'R'n'R' album. After that, it was top-40 mega M.O.R. pop lameness.
did Einstein really say that? awesome!
I had a 72 Ltd when I was 16. That car would scream. Dude that bought it from me outrun the law in it.
oh, oh and a school of bells record on the other side, alright
OFF!
no speak english plz i need list albums
Sound heads
Anybody know the led zep song.
What Is And What Should Never Be.
From zeps 2nd lp sir. Called uh 2 funny enough.
when i found out that these two are straight i was more shocked than if they had turned out to be gay..
I remember buying public service when I was 13 I just loved Red Kross and circle one and bad religion also disability was cool! Does anyone know about that band? I saw circle one but I never think disability was playing
Live and bad religion was one public service that was good to
AggressionMusic Gene from disability later formed red scare with Bobbi brat...track down the retrospective cd on Grand theft audio.
I do hope all that hard plastic packaging gets reused!
genius
I love how 11 years later my comment still has no "likes" on it - hahahaha! I still stand by my opinion.
...and that’s abuse! lol
Love this guys, and holy shit Jeff looks soooo old.
To Redd Kross : Hawthorne had many Punk greats, Allen Wasted Youth, Hetson, Danny, Bert Anti , Overkill and me Tim Gallegos Wasted Youth, Bad Religion
Tim Gallegos you played on Back To The Known too, right?
Jeff looks and sounds like my uncle who's a bit effeminate while Steven looks like my older and cooler brother.
gta 5 anyone
God are the gone yet?
R.E.O Speedwagon! Crappy AOR!
You fu...mother is crappy
back in the day they were the Greta Thunbergs of punk rock...
Lol how so? Did they scold people or something?
@@kl5639 I believe they were still in high school when they formed and cut their first record "Jeff was 14 and Steven 11" google says...and I think, yes, they did scold people. I would've been happy to be scolded by Redd Kross.
I knew them before they were middle aged women.
Jeff Macdonald looks sixty years old.
Redd Kross 94’ was by far one of the worst concert I’ve ever seen.
The only time I'd rather see a J. Mascis interview. Just when I thought the bass player Steve couldn't annoy me more than anything omg how eclectic can we be or wannabe
