The clicking sound when opening the door is the limiter. I had the same issue after 275.000 km. You can replace it easily at home with a few simple tools and the item is also not expensive.

We have this car as a construction team of 4 and make 250km per day for a year in Germany, absolutely no problem with engine. Only problem was a electric window in back and the wipers were not too good at high speed. We drive usually at 150-180kmh. Good car and economical. Much better than Skoda Fabia combi we had before.

my last boss bought me one clio v brand new with the 1.5 dci 90cv. i was surprised of the qualities of this car and this engine ( the torque) even i had a bmw 525d personnaly. i was not friend with Renault cars , but that changed with it.

my father own this car and he promised me to teach me how to drive it , laguna always been his favorite car and he is ready to talk about it for hours , but am kinda nervous trying to drive with it the car seems heavy and complicated and also the gear lever is somehow detached so my father had to hide it with a peace of leather and it hard to see the number of speed so am trying to learn on it from videos.
2L, 2LT petrol, 2.0Dci . 1.5dci is dependable but suseptible to poor treatment and should only be bought with a clear history + shortened maintenance (ideally). It is also slow, but econimical

My opinion on this car after driving a few times- feels heavy, suspension is harsh, seats hard, engine pull weak and consumption hard to keep under 8 liter
50, 90 and 130 are the most common speed limits in France (and in a lot of European countries), so it makes sense to have them displayed as a full number instead of a thin and short line
I had 600,000km on my Laguna 2.0 dci untill I sold it 3 years ago, she still running.

Yea very slow for the amount of power it has…a C Class from same year with a 200 Diesel engine for example can go 215-220 km/h without problem
C200cdi has 136hp and around 100kg heavier, but who knows what condition is lagunas engine in
