- These are the Basic Elevators at The Tampa Airport Marriott In Terminal Hotel at Tampa International Airport in Tampa, Florida. The Elevators are Very basic and nothing special, they used to be Montgomery G&P. While the elevators are nothing special (aside from the fact 2 of the elevators are keyed off but 1 isn't), this hotel is sadly going to be demolished soon as part of The Tampa Airport's Massive $1 billion dollar overhaul. I find this to be quite sad as I do like the 1970's architecture of the property and this place features one of the only, if not the only, revolving restaurant in the State Of Florida, and sadly, it will be going away soon. I will try to get back here before the demolition and try to ask if I can get a tour of this property, and also ride the service elevators (even though they appear to be modernized as well). Anyways, with that being said, this may be a final ride, so sit back, relax and enjoy the video as yet some more history doesn't have all that long before it fades away...
Installed: 1973 (Montgomery G&P)
Modernized: Early to Mid 1990's (MontgomeryKONE With Innovation Universal Older version)
To be demolished: 2017-2023 :(
There’s a hotel on st Pete beach that has a revolving restaurant that’s still open
It sucks how they are demolishing it.
They're NOT demolishing it. The cost is way too high: 55 MILLION.
Some Montgomery Kone elevators has a Otis and Dover floor indicator
Based on what I can tell instead a parking garage will be demolished and this place is staying
Correct, that's what has happened, I just haven't updated my title or description lol. But yes, the old Rental Car Garage was torn down last year, and this hotel just got new signage, suggesting it won't be going anywhere. One of my friend's dads works for the FDOT, and he told me it would be too expensive and challenging to demolish, so instead they're keeping the hotel
I’m guessing that’s the only two Marriott hotels that have the View restaurant. The Marriott at TPA Airport and Marriott Marquis Times Square
It’s because you have to enter a keycard to access floors 2-6
Interesting they have an Innovation Security CK Button!!
I do beg to differ with this, because as I was going through the Tampa Airport elevators, these elevators are still intact in 2024.
They canceled the demolition of this hotel, and they're currently modernizing the elevators in the hotel.
There are 2 differences I know of between older and newer Innovation Universal.
1 (possibly the older difference): In likely the mid-late 1990s they redesigned the brailles.
2: I think older Universal buttons are non-clicky and newer Universal buttons are clicky.
That's sounds right because the Montgomery elevator's at Park Plaza Mall has Innovation Universal from 1988-89 and it doesn't sound clicky.
Should have kept the G&P buttons.
When this place is being demolished, are you going to ask for any parts to this elevator?
Nicholas Smith Maybe, but it's nothing special. As of now the demolition is being postponed because of financial problems.
False alarm! I literally stayed there last year!
what is the music
Why are they demolishing this?
They WERE going to demolish it to expand the main terminal, but after thinking about it there's a much more cost effective way: Keeping the Marriott and control tower and demolishing the red side garage. The cost to demolish the Marriott and the control tower is over $50,000,000. The cost to demolish the red side garage is about $5,000,000
why tare it down
THIS IS NOT BEING DEMOLISHED!!! The cost to demolish the hotel would be 55 MILLION. Here's proof: www.tampaairport.com/hcaa-board-approves-phase-2-budget-amendment
Green And Orange Line Productions Wow. That is AMAZING!!!! Let's just hope it stays that way!!!!!
Green And Orange Line Productions And you were the one who told me this place was being demolished in the first place!!! And it said so on the news!!! WOW
The renovation is going to be $1 billion total, I'm shocked they don't have the money to tear it down
Joseph C's dad works with the Department of Transportation, and he knows a lot about the airport refurbishment. He told us that the Marriott wasn't being demolished.
Green And Orange Line Productions That is amazing. And I see the plans to demolish the old traffic control tower are scrapped too apparently. But now they are demolishing the redside garage.
maybe no one stays there because it is to much cash
I am so happy because this kone elevator well be gone
Texas elevators garage door opener NOOOOOOOOOOAOOOOOOOO it had such character. the innovation universal buttons sucked but still the cabs were nice!
Texas elevators garage door opener It's NOT A KONE. It was installed when KONE was buying Montgomery. Yes the elevators are nothing special, but the hotel is nice and has cool 1970s architecture!!!!
Floridian Elevators ok
Florida is RUINING nice beautful old buildings replacing them with modern crap.
Specialty Elevators & UEE's by Technicalboy3000 Agreed!!!! Definitely!!!! The codes are so stupid. Both for elevators and buildings
NO! BEAUTIFUL ELEVATOR GOI NG GONE! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! GOD! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! PLEASE KEEP THIS ELEVATOR
Specialty Elevators & UEE's by Technicalboy3000 The whole building is getting blown up and torn down to the ground. Not just the elevators.
A MARRIOTT HOTEL!? SERIOUSLY!? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! MARRIOTTS MY FAVORITE BRAND!!!!!!!! GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Why couldn't they just renovate the hotel like every other old building is?
Stupid florida blowing up really nice old buildings & putting up super s^^^ modern buildings which look so generic! THEY BETTER PUT IN A NEW MARRIOTT WITH NICE GEN2'S, SCHINDLER MRL & THYSSENKRUPP SYNERGY but hopefully if it's a kone then 3rd party hydraulic
Specialty Elevators & UEE's by Technicalboy3000 They are building 2 new hotels by where the new terminal/rental car facility is being built. 1 of them will be a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel. Once they demolish this Marriott, they are going to build on and expand the existing terminal
Specialty Elevators & UEE's by Technicalboy3000 And Marriott is my favorite brand too
