I get what you mean with the techno comparison, I think in the case of Sleep Token it's a sawtooth wave effect which is something you'll hear a lot in the background of techno and minimal house music.

Carl Cox is fantastic, diverse musical tastes keep things interesting mate. This song is wicked, I love every aspect of Sleep Token but the drummer is truly worthy of worship. Killer fills, unique snare placements- excellent work once again. Welcome back Drew, greetings once again from Melbourne Oz. As a proud Australian you really should dive into Karnivool again, Goliath and Deadman are my recommendations.

Fáilte ar ais, a fear! 👍👏👏 This is me own first time hearing this new track from the 'Token. Id actually no idea it was out, till this reaction, so absolute massive tanks to you for getting this out there like that. I like this song- I love the ethereal, swelling levels of lush synths and effects, and then down comes the riffing to give the smoooth soundscapes a jagged edge. Theres obviously gonna be a lot more diversity within the new album, so I look forward to that. Sláinte, mo chara.

@@DrewFortune97 I can imagine the all sorts of shite that copyrights and blockage can dampen and dour the mood regarding the uploads you do. The work an' time into it, then it goes down the Leitheris when blocked. Im a huge fan of Rick Beato's 'What makes this song Great?" series on YT, and despite him being a well revered musician, producer, sound lad, he has GodAwful trouble with blocked videos at times, despite them having the utter best intentions and praise for the band/musician. But Hellyeah if/when y'drop a new reaction thats great,mate. Keep up the good Obair!!
Listened to this song in literally the first five minutes it was released, now I'm here to see just how much everyone else is loving it.
I think Sleep Token have a good future ahead of them if they maintain consistency. I could see this song being on the charts for sure, they could break the streak of no metal song being on the charts (it's been many years btw). I dont like so much when they completely go Pop, I think it's just a waste if I'm honest, we have a tonne of these songs on the charts already (and as for the all out heavy tracks none of those will touch the charts for obvious reasons). Songs that merge the two however with this track Alkaline and others is where they start to grab my attention, it's something very different but also poppy. But big props to Sleep Token for trying to push boundaries and break molds. We need this as Pop has just been oversaturated with the same old same old time and time again.

You're right about the similar flare between that techno(sounds more like trance) track and sleep token in that both are using synth (keyboard) distortion. And if I had to guess, it's probably a mod on a Korg Triton LE or some Triton variation including any of its knock offs in other brands. There's so many sampling packs and mods for that synth that sound similar. On top of that, though, at least on the sleep token song is a bit of reverb effect on the synth as well to give it that "haunting" sound, bc it kind of lingers, even milliseconds beyond each keystroke. I've never actually looked into sleep tokens gear to say that's a fact lol but your reaction here has made it pique my interest so tyty mate!

Random suggestion: You should check out the band Wheel. Songs like 'Wheel', 'Movement', or 'Hyperion'. They're Tooly yes but they have a distinct flavor too. Can't put my finger on it.

The idea of reuploading the song on your channel to check if it's gonna be copyrighted is brilliant! I wanted to start doing reaction videos and recorded a few of them. But when I uploaded them, all of them got instantly blocked and I was sooooo mad. I didn't do that since.
Really excited for the new album, but I think there's more underrated artists than them out there at the moment.

wait, how most underrated band when it has already 33 000 views after one day??? there are still many bands which have barely few thousands after years, so be careful saying who is underrated...
True, you’re right. But I’d still consider 33,000 views underrated in the grand scheme of things.
If you look at the likes of Slipknot - they’re pulling in hundreds of thousands, if not millions of views in their first week of uploading a new track. I know sleep token aren’t the same genre as Slipknot but if we’re comparing bands based on views/talent alone - they’re extremely underrated.
@@DrewFortune97 yes but as I am saying, there are still many many bands which are totally underrated, look for example at band called "In Disarray"and you will see. But yes, it is difficult to compare bands od different genres together. Metalcore should be the most popular as the genre but it is totally in contrary with this, metalcore is one of the most underrated genres and it is really sad 😢
