@@WillProwse Interesting comment about the Anderson Powerpole connectors. What connector type do you most recommend for outdoor applications that have to be regularly connected / disconnected at a wall or box panel? Thanks!
Jackery used to be on the top of the market for power stations when they first started to come out. I feel like they have been behind the curve lately and overpriced their items when there’s many other good options out there now. Just my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. Thanks for the video Will.
I was about to buy a 3000 pro, that's $1,800 at costco, with two folding 100w panels. But, their PV input seems like it really sucks and have weird connectors. So, I bought a Pecron 3600 instead. Only $1,500, heavier, no wheels, but should have much better PV input. Waiting for it to arrive.
It took Jackery ages to go over to LFP. I guess they wanted lightness and smallness to be a selling point. I don't know about anywhere else, but in Japan Jackery are spending far more on marketing than all the other brands put together. Traditional "mall anchor stores", a relic of the past in the west, are still around in Japan, with school supplies, bland conservative clothing, and the inevitable "natural disaster supplies" section with... Jackery products are always one of the most expensive, but it never seems to be leading the pack in anything other than marketing budget. Sure had a lot of issues/glitches during your review. Having a “pretty good” rating might be fine for a no-name Chinese knock-off system, but needs to be much better for premium priced brand. Thanks again for your review. Keep them coming.
Excellent review. I purchased a Jackery power station almost five years ago through Amazon simply because the price was right for what it stated that it could do. It powers lights in the box truck work van. Here in the north east, it’s start work in the dark and clean up in the dark all winter long. I think marketing and competition has propelled Jackery to apply a higher price tag for their name. My Jackery does what I need it to do for the price I paid for it five years ago. Today, I’d purchase a product from Ecoflow.
Every other power station manufacturer: The expansion batteries don't do anything without the main unit, make sure everything's off when you install them. Meanwhile, Bluetti 3 years ago: Hot swappable batteries? Sure! Also each one's a DC power station in it's own right...
My Cybertruck is portable, self contained (even as a living space) and has twice the max capacity of this. Maxed out, this is 30k almost! 60k to get to the CT capacity, with 4 units, and 10 expansions. For 20k more, get a whole vehicle wrapped around the batteries! Looked like a unit I would have considered instead of the Delta Pro Ultra with the current sale going on, but it seems to have quite a few bugs that need to be worked out. Looks like it may be the two DPU units for home UPS.
@@WillProwse I haven't purchased either unit yet. The DPU was my pick until the Jackery came out, but then watched your video on it. The Jackery is the unit that seems as if the software isn't really ready for release along with power on/off the unite/battery when items are connected and disconnected. Just watched your DPU review earlier this morning and between these two units, it's most likely gonna be the 2 Ecoflow DPU units I'll end up purchasing. Keeping the comparison of these competitors as close as possible, I found a pretty good deal on each of them and it is still a $1400 difference in favor of the Jackery & would include a couple of panels. Personally it's too close in cost to "settle" for the Jackery.... your thoughts?
You have to prime your walls, and I usually do another spot coat over the patches, so they don't "flash" through your color coat (those shinier spots on the wall that are coming through the paint). That wall behind you is a great color, but needs at least one more coat of paint to cover those circular shiners, and also to get the spots you missed near the bottom. The baseboard looks nice in that color, but you should put tape down and get the entire thing painted. Flat or matte paint works best in your situation, especially with all your lighting equipment (eggshell sheen will reflect back right to the camera). Flat also hides those threaded anchor holes and other imperfections, and will blend it into the knockdown texture.

Great video! Would love to hear your review of the Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultra (and your thoughts on it for someone who isn’t comfortable with DIY but wants to power a small off grid home). Thanks!
Inverters are getting more powerful, compact, more efficient at the same time. It will not take long when inverters become the main power source and the grid as backup. This could make US homes 220-240 volts without waiting for the grid to change. Another is to get rid of AC power in the house entirely, so much power is wasted over time on AC DC vice versa.
@@WillProwse Hi Will, is that 25w tested, or what the brochure says? I ended up returning the Eco flow ultra as the self consumption was 50w in the brochure, but only when doing nothing, but 120w when using the inverter to power anything over 200w. Can you check the self consumtion on the jackery when the inverter is active? Thanks!
It's so much cheaper to learn some solar basics and put together your own system. Jackery works fine for the small portable units to take camping but for home units not so much, same with Goal 0. The first thing I always check for any of those all in one units like Jackery, Goal 0, Ecoflow, etc. is maximum voltage and amp input. Most of the time it is too low and limits your solar charging too much. Thanks for the review.

I know that DIY would always be your recommendation, and I respect that. We've been watching you channel for three years. That said, we're both 67, and we went with the J5000+ because it can back up the most critical circuits in our home with the Smart Panel, and additionally that it's PORTABLE, meaning that if we decide to downsize and buy a smaller home in a senior community in a few years, we can take it with us. I would like to see your installation of the Smart Transfer panel. That's the same way I will run mine and I'd like to have that cable setup you made there for the main home power input.
The $3,499 price tag is a bundle deal for the Explorer 5000 Plus and Smart Transfer Switch-sounds reasonable considering the high capacity and features.
So the main unit and transfer switch on Amazon now is 3500 but yah still not cheap The extra battery was still quite high I’d personally go with 2 2K plus in parallel Still Spendy unless a wild sale probably $2500 for the two and no ATS If you’re baller with an RV yah the Jackery stuff is ok
Is one of the advantages with the Jackery the fact you can charge the portable battery directly from your panels, versus needing something like a 6000xp to charge the batteries (charge control)?
@@Mr_Hundredaire It's just another charge input, as Jackery's typically have low voltage & low power DC inputs, so you must split panels up between the main unit and batteries. If you're handy enough to put in a 6000xp, it's not an issue.
Great review! Those panels are sweet. So 2 MPPTs? You can use the low voltage MPPT to add a generic 48V server rack battery as an expansion? With pass- through charging?
Hey Will, does it behave differently once charged up? Just wondering if there's some catch to the transfer when it's charging from a low state of charge? 3 seconds seems way too high. Their cheaper units have sub 20ms transfers, actually about 8ms according to reviews (which beats most APC units) - something doesn't add up! I have their Explorer 1000 v2, and the UPS functionality works fine.

If you value your time, Jackery’s plug-and-play systems are worth the investment.
To be honest the only thing jackery has released that actually caught my interest was their Lfp battery bank. fits in palm of your hand, can take it on airplanes, its cute. But the kind of money they are asking for for this system I might as well get an EG4 product. Their new Gridboss one looks nice. I hope you review that one
4:45 Android app not working - could try an older iPhone ($99 ebay) or any other android device. At least until they update the app for your main phone.
Hey Will, the Explorer 1000 v2 seems way better than their old stuff. Might be time for a review? Seems as good as a the EcoFlow.
I would like to see your installation of the Smart Transfer panel. That's the same way I will run mine and I'd like to have that cable setup you made there for the main home power input.
I use Jackery’s app with my Explorer, and it works fine. Maybe the setup process needs more clarity.
Jackery’s bundle pricing actually saves money compared to buying separately.
The $3,499 price tag is a bundle deal for the Explorer 5000 Plus and Smart Transfer Switch-sounds reasonable considering the high capacity and features.
So the main unit and transfer switch on Amazon now is 3500 but yah still not cheap
The extra battery was still quite high
I’d personally go with 2 2K plus in parallel
Still Spendy unless a wild sale probably $2500 for the two and no ATS
If you’re baller with an RV yah the Jackery stuff is ok
Jackery is a premium brand; $3,499 for this bundle reflects its reliability and performance.
Not everyone wants to spend hours building DIY solutions-Jackery is for convenience.
The app could use some tweaks, but the hardware is rock solid.
Yer almost at a mil subs!!!
If Jackery adds more tutorials, it’ll be even easier to use.
For a fully off grid system, could I plug into the 240/30a NEMA and wire that to each leg in my main panel to provide power?
I have the Anker F3800 and the Bluetooth was giving me trouble, as well. For me, the 2ghz vs 5ghz WiFi is what caused connectivity issues.
Will, what do you recommend for an automatic back up power system that only needs to power a propane furnace?
The app is a neat feature-hope they address the feedback and improve the experience further.
A guy tried to sell me something like this in costco for like $1700 yesterday lol.
They saw bluetti and said we need to follow in some way!
Looked fun to film this one..
DIY is cheaper, but Jackery is about convenience and trusted quality.
Well shoot, the expansion battery is expensive = no multitool tear down. 😛
Can i plug my 120A camper trailer directly into this?
Did you ever do a Review on the Delta Pro Ultra?
I have 800 watts hooked up and in full sun i only get 450 watts on the jackery?
There are better panels, you should be getting around 600 watts.
@melissasmess2773 I'm sure it's the jackery.
Mr Ignorant here!: You mentioned you could fasten to the top of your golf cart. Great…but, I thought those are Bi Faced panels.
Can you tell me the brand of charger (not require a ground) that eventually worked with this setup? I have a 2024 M3. Is this just a L2 Tesla charging issue?
Good review, now if the engineers are listing to address your faults you found they could get compatible lots bug to flush out
Hi Will, Question: the pv disconnect switch in the video , can you help us with a link to it pls.
