The idea that they are planning to move to Austin and eventually would work as volunteer keepers in Alveus is a thing to look forward to. Also, Leslie being a Bio major and vet tech is really cool. Can't wait for them to come back once the wolves are already there!

@@iceman3317 I wouldn’t be that surprised. If nothing else it would save them potentially hundreds of thousands or even millions in taxes. I think California has like a 15% state tax and Texas has a no state income tax plus cost of living and sales taxes are lower in Texas. I don’t know how much they all make but at least some of them are probably in the millions

When Leslie is doing what she absolutely loves to do but understands that she’s not the show, that the sanctuary is the star she understood the mission. She made sure the animals and Maya shone bright.
I think we got a glimpse of what she might have done if she didn’t end up streaming and she loved every moment.
That's the first time I've seen Maya go full Spider Girl. I know she loves bugs and I've heard her say spiders are cool, but ive never seen her just pick one up 😂 that was awesome and hilarious. And it DID look cool! Zebra stripes like Marty!
That was _wild_ but also fun to see.
I also saw a a video previously in which Connor found a tarantula (It was inside the fox enclosure I believe.) and called Maya over to move it to a safer environment. And it was crazy watching Maya handle it.
Obviously she didn’t immediately pick it up with her hands but she did touch it eventually. And it seemed pretty pissed off that it was being moved from where it was.
Connor was, understandably, EXTREMELY concerned for Maya when she was touching it with her bare hands. (Obviously she wasn’t playing with it or anything. Just getting a better look at it before moving/re-releasing it.)
ANYWAY, after seeing _that_ I wasn’t surprised in the least with how chill AF Maya was with all of those little guys running all over her. Though it was still pretty wild to see! I could NEVER. LOL.

i really appreciate the way maya talks about reducing beef consumption and ways to consume animal products more responsibly. i think sometimes when other people talk about this subject or veganism/vegetarianism, it can come off as judgmental/preachy which makes people much less likely to even consider changing their diet or purchasing habits

As an isopod keeper, figured I should point this out. Isopods eat their substrate because they’re detritivores. Coco fiber has no nutritional benefits to isopods since it can’t decay. I’d switch to a different substrate mix. Coco fiber can also cause blockages in isopods.

He's not part of the program, he's not an Alveus ambassador. He's just there because he's Maya's horse. He gets featured once in a while and he gets screen time everytime anyway, but when there's a collab the focus is on the ambassadors so the message about their conservation could be delivered to the viewers, especially to the newer ones. But yeah, he is cool.

They can get chat from the original Twitch streams but not the UA-cam streams. The past two streams were from those streamers UA-cam channels. You can find the original stream with chat on their UA-cam channels under the Live tab.

Yup, we call them that, as Maya mentioned. However, I recently found out that some folks in the US also call the Male Black Widow "daddy longlegs" as well... Which is a horrible thing lmao Cuz that's a bad mix up, as my understanding is they're also venomous (but not as bad as the ladies).
