Follow Us as we share with you our recent stay experience at JEN Singapore Orchardgateway by Shangri-La!
Conveniently located along the famous retail belt of Orchard Road in Singapore, this property is just immediately above the Somerset MRT station, and is a stone's throwaway from amenities such as cinemas, shopping malls, and a wide array of food and beverage establishments!
We put up in their Club room during this stay and had an enjoyable one. Although the lounge was not open, we managed to enjoy a decent evening cocktail session paired with a bento box of light snacks at the Lounge@Jen. One key highlight would be soaking in the salt chlorinated infinity pool while taking in the panoramic city view! The breakfast buffet spread was pretty comprehensive with chefs on standby to dish out your preferred local delights like Nasi Lemak, and international fare such as eggs and sausages. A party pooper would have to be the gym facility which could only admit one per session as part of safety management measures during the pandemic.
It was all in all a wonderful stay and we look forward to be back again very soon!

Great video! Thank you very much! We're booked to stay at this hotel next month for a fortnight (first vacation outside of the UK since before Covid) and it's great to see what we can expect. I haven't been back to Singapore for around ten years (with the first time in the early 1990's staying at the now sadly demolished Cockpit Hotel around Dhoby Ghaut) so I'm looking forward very much to it - both the food and seeing how Singapore has changed since I was last there. First time to visit singapore on december. May i ask which is better to stay in orchard road area or chinatown area? Do you know bliss chinatown?

Stay at China Town is better~ There got more food options and some attractions to visit.
We heard the Bliss Chinatown but never stay there before.
I like Shawn's speed of talking in this video (and at times he sounds like Leon Lai) as normally he speaks too slow. Jim's speed is just nice here as he mostly speaks too fast, like gancheong spider, lol.
The speed of the 360 tour is also good, unlike in some they can go too fast.

Who is that handsome young man you were with? Oh.....Shaun :) Anyway...glad to see Shaun. So why did they want you to cancel your reservation? Because they weren't making any money on the stay? Decent room though. I'm somewhat impressed with the robot thing. I've only seen it in some Singapore hotel vlogs....(oh and I did see it being used in the restaurant vlog I saw in Bangkok). It's an expense I'm sure, but I think it will become more popular in the years to come (there are some downsides to that, but that's a whole other topic LOL). I know that the snacks are not that big of an expense, but providing it in such a nice little gift box goes a long way for their branding. Very nice outdoor area. Lot's of seating areas and what looks like a really large pool. Ice cream for breakfast? My kind of breakfast. Overall, it looked really good. Again, glad to see Shaun again ;)

Jim was given a health risk notice because he might have rubbed shoulders with a C+ person. So he needs to swab consecutively for 5 days. Our initial thought was to cancel it but we revisited the protocol and decided to consult the hotel. To no avail of an acceptable answer. Haha. Oh well... We made it in the end nonetheless.
This property is quite decent I must say. With nice amenities and a comfy bed. Would definitely go back again soon.

I agree with you. Their reservation team in Jen Penang wasn't that helpful either. But I like what you showed. Perhaps I can consider Jen spore. Which is better in your opinion- the orchard gateway or tanglin?
I had lunch in Jen Penang before, food is delicious and friendly staff~
Jen Tanglin, the room and the gym is bigger, Jen Orchard has got better pool and better breakfast~
It's hard for me to choose between them!
@@Follow_ussg oh dear! Pls help me cuz I'm planning to go to spore next month and I never stayed at any Jen properties at there before. Location wise I know orchard wins. I'm just particular about the bed which preference can be quite subjective

Tanglin location is a bit far from the MRT.
Guess u choose Orchard Jen la, else u go watch our Tanglin Jen videos to compare.

We wore masks because sometimes the room tends to be dusty. Hehe... And we can minimise breathing in dust if we jump and do the oogachaga. Hahaha!
