Thank you to the amazing artists who have allowed us to share Frankenstein in this way, during this unprecedented time, when so many theatre fans can't visit their local theatres.
At the National Theatre in London, we make world-class theatre that is entertaining, challenging and inspiring. And we make it for everyone.
National Theatre Live is National Theatre’s ground-breaking project to broadcast the best of British theatre to cinemas in the UK and internationally.
Frankenstein was filmed live on-stage in 2011 by National Theatre Live.
I don't know how an actor can alternate between the two roles. The discipline blows my mind.
When I first heard about this I thought that this must be an actor's dream and nightmare at the same time.
No doubt. Kudos to both
I had the privilege of watching this amaizing play. Benedict is absolutely fantastic as the creature. It was truly a masterpiece 😍
Jonny Lee Miller is so good in this.
He was better as The Creature.
@@ladyehreen6908 who cares...all actors are fungible...and replaceable
Now,why danny boyle and the national theater NEVER thought of the idea of releasing this masterpiece (both versions of the performance of course) on dvd,blu ray,and digital at the time. I'll never know
I’d love that too but they’ve addressed this q - they decided that it would take away from the specialness of live theatre to do so
@@hm2011100 Makes sense but MAN, I'd so buy this.
Absolutely need. Worked for Hamilton, why not this (other than needing to sell 2 instead of Ham's 1)
I loved Cumberbatch’s performance as the creature.
What are females good at?!
Benedict Cumberbatch: * squeaks * I don’t know!!!
The Gucci Sista id like to show him 😝
Christine T Heck yeah. 🤤

National Theatre! Just an idea, but how about streaming this again for a limited time for October? Maybe around Halloween?
I have a picture from the play in one of my school textbooks. I almost squeaked in the middle of class when I realised it’s the New York and the London Sherlock
I can't wait to see this! I never had the chance to watch this play and now I do!
Omg is this going up tonight ! I was so lucky to see it twice
oh man, this is gonna be sooooo good! can't wait.
them screaming "WHAT ARE FEMALES GOOD AT" "I DONT KNOW" is hilarious. like ok dr no bitches
He be spending the whole book bragging about his sister too like BRO YOU KNOW WOMEN RIGHT 😨
I've been wanting to see this for years.
I can’t wait to watch this!!
Saw 2 versions and love them both

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I MISSED IT 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Wish I saved the videos last year. ,:( Two versions of same play with perfect actors.
Noooo i missed the show Because my internet stopped :((( where can i watch it again? Or when?
Jacek JR same. I’m wrecked
Same 😭😭
I just found out about it today. Very crushed. I’d be more than happy to pay to watch it.
There’s a UA-cam channel called Rano Holmes that uploaded the entire thing, if you guys still want to see it.
Hopefully scrubbed from the internet forever. Benedict is openly ableist and admits to using severely autistic people as "inspiration" for his performance while simultaneously condemning people for associating his character Sherlock with being autistic. Autistic people are only valid in his mind when we're throwing ourselves at walls and screaming incoherently, when we're portrayed as pitiful tragedies, not when we're as portrayed functioning, creative and genuine people. His performance was abhorrent and a slap in the face to those who are autistic/on the spectrum.
I have published the whole play in my channel
Dr. Strange💀👀
THE TOUR DE FORCE IS OVERPOWERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I only see two Sherlocks
This is what happens when you bring two Sherlocks together.
Sherlocks!
Lord Voldemort vibes!
🤗🤗🤗
You should let us add subtitles, I wished to do this scene with my students but with no french substitles, it is going to be impossible unfortunately.
*The Holmes'*
A BIG SERVING OF HAM by the looks of it.
Why is there a trailer but no way to watch it????????????
Just… just… it’s just s’all so bleeding’ poncy aint it? 😬
🤪
HAM ANYONE?
Nooo not this part :(
Oh man, I just finished the book and this scene is so disappointing. The creature should have the power over Frankenstein, in this he's a groveling weakling. And Frankenstein was never enthusiastic about making the creature a bride, he was being forced to, Victor regretted his actions deeply. He spends most of the book hating what he made.
this is so embarrassing lol xx
Well, this was horrible to watch (specially if you know about Cucumberbatch's hideous comments about autistic people)
I wonder what research Frankenstein did to help him get into character!
If you mean Benedict I have some bad news for you🫠
@@Astroniia oh I know what he did 😂 I’m just being sarcastic. Anyway Fck Mr. Cumberbatch.✌️
