Was hoping you'd react to this one. QWER is probably my fave new group of the past year and 'Ferris Wheel' is actually my favourite song of 2024 so far. The members are all hilarious (especially Magenta), and Kim Egg has got to be the funniest CEO/group founder in the business. Also, Poptime (Korean music producer who works with (G)I-DLE) and QWER's producer are work colleagues. That's why QWER did a cover of (G)I-DLE's 'Fate' and why Soyeon is promoting 'Fake Idol'.

There were quite of few nay sayers that came out of the woodworks regarding their skills and unfitting of a rock festival invitation. There were also extremely hateful and truely heinous(and unlawful) slurring against them because 2 of them were streamers before, going as far as calling them whores. It's since mostly been quelled after string of spectacular live perfomances and becoming an a-lister among summer festivals and college festivals. But some basement keyboard warriors still persist. I think this is playful way of facing all that. For instance, bandage represent all the wounds they have received, and the rock represents the fandom. There are 7 instances of cameo by the rock throughout the M/V representing ever present and support rock. (fandom name is 바위게, which means rock crab, but in the world of league of legends, 바위게 is scuttle crab, never hitting back and it gives buffs). The song and the MV tells a story that all the name calling anti-fans will eventually love them, because QWER is everyone's idol.

Soyeon, gidle and QWER are related, they have same producer from the same music group, Prismfilter. Qwer cover Gidle Fate even before the song goes viral and get lot of views too. You can see at 2:48 the sign change to Fate Idol, it was Fake Idol in the beginning.
There more easter egg actually. Like the mv keep mentioning 10.18 which is their debut date. 7.2 which is date QWER was created.
People guessing the title track hint for next album is in the ending of this MV. 😅

Thanks for your reaction! The official QWER channel will add English subtitles in a few hours... The lyrics are actually pretty sad, even though the music video might seem different. Since they weren’t created by a big entertainment company with a structured system, (groups created on UA-cam) they often get labeled as "fake" for supposedly imitating idols. The lyrics talk about how they want to share their true feelings despite all the judgment and how they aim to be idols just for the fans who genuinely love them.
Fun fact: This song isn’t even the main title track! It’s just a pre-release from their upcoming mini-album, which will be out in a few weeks. The actual title track is by a "different producer." Who that is… well, you’ll find out soon! And the mini-album is called ‘Algorithm’s Blossom,’ which is such a cool title if you know the story behind how they were formed. can't wait to see your reactions to the real title song!
