Mr Schmitz...I need to write that this is not only the Best version of this piece that I heard, but the most inteligent and appropiated interpretation in character of an Elegy! Bravísimo!!!
A little brash; he also paused such that he would stop the flow of the piece. Usually not a problem unless it's done mid-phrase, which it was several times throughout the performance. That said, he successfully carried a lot of power and emotion. He also was very accurate, clear, and dynamically consistent. Overall a good performance.
It is amazing how many excellent performances of this piece you can listen to.
