Danny is by far one of the most beloved people in all of entertainment, and for such a good reason. He's genuine. He's fun, he's a great performer and he's a person who dictates his own story. Especially in this day and age of smoke and mirrors hiding who people really are, what we see from Danny truly does feel like we are seeing him completely, whether he's on a talkshow sharing his life, creating one of the most adored children's movies ever, or crawling naked and sweaty out of a leather couch. I hope I'd be able to stay myself in my old age, doing what I do because of the sheer joy of it. Danny is an exceptional role model, and may he live on for so many years to come.
Awesome gentleman. I met him on a few occasions. He even spoke at one of our film school events. The biggest laugh of my life came when he revealed his character in the opening episode of "Taxi". My greatest possession is a Christmas gift from Jersey Films and Records of a collection of favorite film themes. It was obviously put together by true lovers of film music.
@@professorkorezi I forgot to mention something even cooler. I made a career making a certain kind of video. Two of the ladies I worked with were part of the Penguin's gang in "Batman Returns" and while Mr. DeVito was being made up, they would show him the videos we made.
I genuinely love that movie, but I don't remember ever speaking to anyone else who enjoyed it. My immediate circle of friends hated Death to Smoochy, but that never changed my position that it's a hilarious dark comedy! Robin Williams' rant about the shape of the "rocket ship" cookie still makes my side hurt every single time.
This is such an awesome video! I grew up watching Denny DeVito. I have never been disappointed by a project he was involved with. But Death to Smoochy is my favorite, and not because of some disdain for Barney. I love it because it exposed the inner workings of complicated people in a brutally honest way. That Danny squirted the fake blood stream at the conclusion of the movie just adds to my admiration of the man.

I have loved Danny DeVito since seeing him on Taxi when I was a kid in the 70's, I'm still a fan, he is such a true talent, a gift. Thank you for this fantastic documentary.
As dumb as this sounds, my favorite thing he did was Hercules in 97. Him and James Woods gave their characters more depth than any other voice talent since Robbin Williams.
You could've easily made a funny compilation of Danny devito moments but this clearly has alot of thought and effort put into it this. I really appreciate the quality of this mini doc bruh
Robin Williams was SO good as Rainbow Randolph. Unforgettable performance. Also, I think Edward Norton’s performance is pretty underrated. Great flic 👌🏻
Danny is a gem and a real natural treasure, I cant imagine Sunny in Philadelphia without Frank. Sure, there is S1 wich also was great, but Frank just is such a great character. Watching him perform just melts my troubles away and makes me forget. So many great characters and the range....
I know someone who does elite event catering in California. He has met many celebrities. I asked him once who the nicest celebrity was, and he said hands down it was Danny DeVito.
The question "Why would you do this show?" about Sunny seems really stupid when you lay out his whole career like this. He's always been drawn to the weird stuff that is oddly endearing. Projects that show a side of humanity that we either don't like or try to ignore are the projects he seems to connect to. I also think that's what draws a lot of his fans, myself included, to him.
Dodford strikes again with Danny Devito this time, leaving the crowd flabergasted with his unique editing/storytelling style and is well on his way to overtake a certain mr beast as youtubes new 'golden boy'.
I'm very confused about the reception for Death to Smoochy. I wouldn't call myself a cult follower or anything. I watched it once shortly after it came out and really enjoyed myself. Maybe it targeted a very millennial sense of humour a few years too early for that to actually pay off.
You forgot about the semi-autobiographical film Get Shorty that told of producers trying to get Danny in his movie but he ends up being too short at the end, and in real life Danny produced the movie and was going to play the John Travolta part, but was too short.
Danny has got that iconic voice that’s for sure! Awesome to find out about his life coming up. Sucks that he was mocked for his height but he got the last laugh that’s fs.
You can say about Danny DeVito what I think you can say about only the most accomplished entertainers ever, and that is on the day that this person is no longer with us, the obituary is going to say, “rest in peace, Danny DeVito, star of… “ and then not one, but a list of well known credits will be rattled off.
Always love that Dodford can tell such engaging stories with little narration, just based on his insane editing skills.
DeVito should be an inspiration to anyone who thinks they are too short, too fat, or too anything. Just be you. People respond to that.
🙌
I am too depressed…
It's funny because when he's in a role I completely forget what he looks like. He totally becomes that character
exactly 🥰
@@some-repliesit’s the same character every time tho?
Dang, interviewers gave zero fucks. “So Danny, you’re really short, how much does that suck?”

Danny devito is the type of guy who forgets about his birthday and gets surprised every year.😂
“…like physically. From just a physical construction perspective, this man is built different from all other humans. But not penguins.“
BUILT. DIFFERENT.

Danny Devideo.
@@michaelp8239I get it
Danny Devido.
“Death to Smoochy” is one of my favorite movies ever - it makes me sad for DeVito that people didn’t appreciate it at the time
Bro barely comments and lets everything else speak for Danny, good stuff man keep it coming

This one left me with a big smile on my face. Nice work, Dodford!
The quality just keeps getting better, GOAT!!!
They all did Death to Smoochy so dirty during the mid 2000s.

Thank God It's Always Sunny got him! He changed everything.
Another masterpeice of a video from the worlds most under rated youtube channel.

the week of his 80th birthday.. i wish he somehow see this video
the best editing I've seen by far.

Great video again, as little narration as possible, just real life showing itself.
Can’t believe he just turned 80! I love him so much
Danny has such a wide range and his attitude is amazing toward it all! Loved this production bro! nice one
Danny on Always Sunny is literally the perfect role for him.
I love Death to Smoochy. It is so quirky and bizarre, I think it was the last real comedic role of Robin Williams.
Robin Williams was SO good as Rainbow Randolph. Unforgettable performance. Also, I think Edward Norton’s performance is pretty underrated. Great flic 👌🏻
Great video. The one I’ve been anticipating for some time. Great editing too
I really hope Danny sees this somehow he would really appreciate the love you put into this good work 👍
This channel is criminally underrated.
He's gonna get real weird with it.
I still can’t believe how panned Death To Smoochy was. Thought it was brilliant then think it’s brilliant now.
One of the best black comedies ever filmed

This isn’t a video. This is a love letter. Bravo.
I always thought he has such an attractive quality about him. He was a really handsome young guy. Idc how tall you are, you can’t beat funny.
Frank Reynolds is the best and funniest television character of all time
Such great editing! Keep it up, Dodford!
Sweeter than candy, Dodford.
If they showed your films on Netflix, I'd consider paying for an account.
WOW...there's so much i didn't know about this man....and as always masterful storytelling dodford
Great video man, Danny DeVito is an international treasure.
You are such a inspiration for me at the time to make videos.

things you love to hear 🥹
It should be a crime to eat without youtube 😆😆😁
I'd have loved to see a mob movie with Pesci and DeVeto. Those two would play off each other so well.
Danny is an absolute legend. Love this!
I’m in love with this video and the delicate way it was produced and edited
