    I have 9 EEs and they lay a range from bright robin's egg blue to dark olive with brown speckles. Most of the in between are a rage of pale blues and greens. I got mine from Hoover's hatchery and boy, they are some angry looking birds but they lay a TON of eggs!

      Bummer they're angry. Ours have all been a little flighty, but overall friendly.
      They do lay beautiful eggs though.

      How big are EE’s eggs? We just got EE’s a week ago for the first time. Ive had Rhode Island Reds and Black Sexlink in the past so I’m familiar with the egg size of them.

    • @doesnotFempute
      @doesnotFempute 3 роки тому +3

      @@CFarnwide mine lay a range of medium/large. Most of mine lay significantly bigger eggs than my orpingtons, and 2 of them lay jumbo sized eggs that are too big for the holes in my "large" egg carton 😳 I haven't figured out which ones yet!
      One thing I found interesting was that my orpingtons started out laying very small eggs that gradually got bigger as the hens matured. My EEs didn't do this. They just started off laying big eggs. They took about 7 months to start laying whereas my orpingtons took 5.

    Well done. I like the idea of a mixed breed and want to look into other mixes but this kind I think is really good.

    When you say mix one chicken with another it sounds like chicken soup. To clarify, a mix would mean a hen with a specific color characterstic with a rooster that has a different color jene. Is that what you mean?

    • @MrAnimalFarm
      @MrAnimalFarm  2 роки тому

      Check combs and wattles - roosters will develop faster and be larger. Look for thicker legs on a rooster and well as hackle and saddle feathers. Check out this article for more details: mranimalfarm.com/how-to-sex-a-chicken/

    Hello. I had a rooster with a beard given last year and he's dark orange/brown and really small and tall shape and he's bread with some of my other hens which I don't know what they are but I now have about five hen's with beards and I was wondering what breed they are and I watched another video of yours saying which hen's lay blue and green eggs what brought me to this video. I've got loads of rare breeds because I take unwanted birds. It's just o don't know what they ate to advertise them or check how much to sell them for. I've been selling hens and Muscovy Ducks for £10 each just to get the flock thinned out a bit but feel I would probably be able to sell them to rare hen breeders better if I knew what they are because people probably look for certain types. I've got lots of videos on this channel of them so if you could take a look and tell me what they are in the comments please that would be much appreciated.👍💚💛❤️

    How many eggs 🥚 per year do they lay?

    • @MrAnimalFarm
      @MrAnimalFarm  Рік тому

      This can vary from bird to bird, typically they average around 4 eggs per week which is just over 200 eggs a year.

    Hi thanks for all the great info. I just got four 4 months old pullets that are supposed to be Easter eggers but they look and act very sporty. They have no tufts. Their tails look really big for their small bodies. Have you ever had Easter eggers who are very fast and fly great? Thanks so much. Appreciate your input.

    • @MrAnimalFarm
      @MrAnimalFarm  2 роки тому

      When you say very fast, you mean the run around? Some Easter Eggers we have had have been flighty or skiddish. Most are friendly, but it depends on what breeds made them and how they were handled/raised.
      Being a smaller/lighter bird, in general they can be a little faster and fly a little better than heavier breeds.

    • @priscilladu5365
