I love the Roman Lakes. Its where my Mum and Dad met and had their wedding reception in 1966. My Mum's best friend Lesley lived there with her family. My Uncle Sid owned it and now his Son, my Uncle Bernard runs the Lakes. I worked there and lived in their wonderful house that is shaped like a 50 pence piece when I was 16 and awaiting my O level results. I loved rowing around the lake. Always use to get told off by the fishermen!
Nice video,Elly as a young lad during the early 1960s, my brother and I got the train from Manchester, to fish the roman lakes, i think it was 2shillings and sixpence for the day, we used craft cheese on our 14s hooks, and it was a roach a chuck. the old chap that gave out the day permits was like a sargent major. Cups of tea, from the cafe, and those waggon wheels were such a treat. I hated to go home back to those dirty streets of Manchester. Great days on the lake, and it never rained.

I wish the shelter was re built.
