I fly for a living, and I can tell you that morning coffee is absolutely a safety of flight component.
Best video I have seen on this product! Straight to the point without a lot of "lapse time" nonsense. Just what I was looking for ...Thanks!
Just got the Honda/Jackery 290 for cpap machine for my wife while camping or emergencies. Just using 110v plug we got 3 nights but then bought a 12v cig light to ResMed cable and got 5 nights out of it. Cool battery.
thank you for doing a prepping type video.
We just bought the rockpal 300w unit for emergencies as well. Mostly for keeping phones, flashlights and HAM radios charged.
White boxers have a special place in my heart. RIP Keeps and Casper

Does it take glock mags
It doesn't. But it does have the shoulder thingy that flips up.
Does it 80's hip fire?
Alpha Kenny One lol
@@johncar429 it may. But does it go full seminauto? And cause a immediate PTSD and bruised shoulders? Those are the major issues.
Old style
To note: Litium Ion batteries have most of their power degradation when you deep cycle the battery. You will get a lot more lifetime out of the battery is you don't let it get below 10% of discharge. You will get a lot more than 500 cycles if don't let the battery drain all the way.
This fall a tornado went through my town. I was forced to take a shower by the light of my S2R baton II and I had to make coffee off of the power inverter in my truck. I survived, barely.
@Jim Beam Arkansas, lots of down trees, not a lot of property damage other than that.
I use mine to camp in my mini van in cold weather with a 12v electric blanket. Keeps me nice and warm!
Good tip!!!
I just watched this video. Coffee is important. While watching this video, i just ordered the Jackery 500 and the 100w solar panels. I am doing a cross counrty van trip in the next month or so, and I wont leave until the Jackery arrives. No more propane bottle system to have coffee in the morning. If the 500 is too much "juice", then Ill just have to start blending margaritas after driving for the day!!! 'Merica!
Merry Christmas, Michael & Family. Oh, you are currently tied with Paul Harrell @ 379K subscribers (just something I noticed today by chance). You both ought to be in the Millions for sure. This bugs me as I still do not understand UA-cam in this regard. Well, you are in great company, nonetheless. Both of you work very hard at your channels; much more so than so many others. Two of the most pragmatic, well spoken, and interesting men out there, for sure. End of fan fest 2019, lol.
Mike there is also a $50.00 coupon on amazon. And you can do no interest payments for a year. That’s about $40.00 per month. Thanks for helping me spend my money.👍
awesome!
Awesome info. Thanks for sharing!
thank you
Great topic and review. Thank you.
Thanks; tell your friends!
Awesome video! Your Channel is the best
thank you
Man, that is really cool!
Thanks!
You're welcome 👍🏽
It will power a 5000 btu A/C window unit for over 3 hours still had 28% when power came back on
We love ours, use it at shows to power IPads for sales for square transactions all day.
restive loads are very easy to run , the more important thing to test is how it will handle an inductive load IE anything with an AC motor.
Thanks Mr. Clean
Cool stuff. Nice review. Something a little different.
Will this recharge if hooked to a 12 volt car/RV battery? I have one hooked to a 100 watt solar panel.
awesome video... Thanks for sharing
welcome
IS this something I can leave plugged in to the wall in case of emergencies?
Mr.Guns with Mr. Coffee nice
What is the other solar panel that you use to charge the jackery? Is it 60w ? How much watts does it generally produce ?
Good review
Cool product. I was about to type a comment asking about solar, and glad I didn't hit 'comment' before watching the whole video.
😁
On a side note. The FN 509 MRD compact was just released today by FN. look forward to that review. FDE please.
Duly noted
In layman`s terms how many pots of coffee will it brew ? For the price the little gasoline inverters are more guaranteed in an emergency and they will charge a 12 v. battery too. And the little inverters are very quite.
I was just looking at one of these. The portable power stations and solar panels to.charge them is definitely one of the more interesting things of the last 15-20 years. They really do change the game in terms of being off grid for camping, or even permanently. And if this thing really does use the same Tesla battery tech then their 80% claim is probably low. Possibly even very low. There isn't a huge amount of testing because of how new the tech is but the best we have shows that even the earliest Tesla's in real world usage are showing very little battery degradation. Under 5% after several years.
agreed
@Jim Beam You can search around. I think the oldest batteries show maybe upwards of 10% by now and that is after 100k + miles. The newest batteries like in the Tesla 3 are 2% after 50k miles, based on limited data.
For disclosure purposes I'm not a Tesla guy. I find it interesting but nowhere near my price range. My last car purchase was a heavily used Ranger pickup for $11k. It's just that 80% sounded like it was passed a bit for legal purposes, understandably. Either way these portable power stations really do change things considerably for even just weekend campers. For under $800 you can power anything you'd typically use without owning a camper with its own battery, or even just ten camping like I do. The 500w model might even be a bit of overkill for a weekend warrior like myself.
I've got a more affordable but smaller unit. Rockpals 250-Watt. Along with a foldable ALLPOWERS 100W Solar Charger. Both units and all my cables and radio chargers fit into a smallish sized box. Always ready to just throw into the truck.
awesome
I have a similar unit from a different manufacturer. I used two to run my 65” tv and Xbox during a power outage to watch movies.
Dude that is awesome
Dylan Alcorn It was pretty sweet. When it warms up a bit I’m going to use them for a projector in the back yard.
awesome
Jim Beam Haven’t you heard? Guns are dangerous.
Jim Beam lol there’s always one. At least you probably won’t be together if shtf. When he’s asking others to carry his ruck for a while.
Amazon has the 240 watt one on sale for 249$ that’s great with prime
Coffee is always a priority.
Wait I thought this was going to be a review of Mr Coffee low draw coffee maker?! I feel so jipped here... LOL
Can't wait till glass batteries come out
I must drink coffee at the range, there is a jim dandy new technology, its called a vacuum thermos.
EldarKinSlayer yeah that’s fine if you drink a girlie amount of coffee, Susan.
@@rockhopper01 my Doctor has cut me down to 3 cups a day. My coffee cup holds 32 ounces.
and it's insulated.
Is that hyco lake behind you
Where do I drill the 3rd hole on this?
everywhere
Never heard of this brand, $500 is quite expensive... What kind of battery is inside this unit and also is the inverter pure sinewave? Very important things to address. In general, great review as always.
I know it's been a while since you commented this, but I would highly recommend you watch Hobotech's review of this. He goes very in depth on all of the features and specs of this thing, even covering updates they made without telling anyone. But yes, pure sine wave.
If you leave the solar panel plugged in overnight will it weaken the charge?
no
I've noticed you have a Tacoma in your videos. Could you not use the inverter in the bed to brew coffee at the range?
Don't have one
Most regular refrigerators or freezers only draw about 100 wats. These will easily run one. Not for days, but it won’t trip the breaker.
depends when it was made I suppose
Because coffee is important.
facts
Coffee is priority!!!!
You can also just go to a truck stop, like loves, or pilot, and buy a coffee pot or a water heater both plug into your cigarette lighter and work good..
@Jim Beam unfortunately I'm in one everyday. Driven a tractor trailer for 20 years if I make it to Jan 5th.
@@kygunrunner i hope you make it
ky gun runner do those stay open in a grid-down situation? Asking for a friend.
@@rockhopper01 only time I've ever saw closed is for remodeling. Most truck stops operate at (some capacity,) even with electric out.
how do u get videos from ur iphone onto the youtubes

@@Mrgunsngear huh. Cool. Last time I tried wasnt compatible had to download extra software. Big rigamaroll.
DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse says it charges very slowly compared to other brands.
Within the past several months, they swapped in an MPPT controller for significantly faster charging. Hobotech showed this off in a video of his.
Range day= packing like your camping in the bush for several days
Y2K never forget lol!!
I wonder if you can chain those?
don't know
Ok guys, don't do it! I'm lucky i'm still alive!!
How much does the solar charger cost?
499 ish... For 500 watt. I bought the 240 and wish i didnt now. Lol

Nice
Mrgunsngear and a Mr. Coffee. Haha. I bet he has a Mr. Toyota, and a Mr. Sony TV, and a Mr....forget it. It's not as funny now that I see it typed out. Great video. Thanks!
😎
Are you coming to Richmond on the 20th
I don't know
@@Mrgunsngear ok we would like to see you there thanks for spreading the word about Virginia
My chemistry professor once made an off-handed comment that car chargers destroy Li-ion batteries (due to varying output). Not sure if that's 100% true, but something to think about
it's internally regulated FWIW
A USB port rated 5V @ 2.4A does not produce 30 watts. It produces 12 watts.
Amazing how affordable this stuff is becoming, affordable is relative to the person who holds the money, but crap like this was WAY out of my price range in the past, this is getting close to me pulling the trigger.
nice
Is Jackery akin to Buffoonery?
..jackery as in..jacking your wallet buffoonery shenanigans..
..or choosing Sig or block over an HK..
try to get a bluetti
MrGunsandcoffee maker.
Caffiene and Hate Blend, my personal favorite.
Coffee is critical.
Every Virginian should have one....
If you were waiting like me he did not shoot it at the end of the video. Next video it better be in the tobacco field! 😁
😎
The dog seems underwhelmed by it all
What’s up man
power apparently
The whole video I’m waiting on him to knock over the coffee on the computer. Stressed me out the whole time.
1:21 "this one is rated to draw 6500 Watts" (You mean 650 Watts) "Most of them are 10,000 or above" Your 20A circuit breaker will trip about 1666 Watts (W = V * A)
Lol I was about to say 6500 watt coffee maker will be flipping huge.. can’t even think about a 10k one. Most 110v go up to 1865 watts. I don’t know where he’s getting those numbers from.
#moredogs!!!
🐶
but can you start a car off it?
Mikey looks like a scientist lol 😜
not quite!
I contacted Jackery the other day and the Jackery 500 has: PWM charge controller.
This limits the maximum input of solar power of a 50 Watt panel to only 30 Watts. An MPPT would preferred for faster charging with larger solar panels. Still a good unit but a limitation of one of the key components.
Please practice blow dryer muzzle safety, you had your laptop downrange!
6500 watts? !
😁
..sooo decadent...fresh brewed coffee at the range...
🤷🏾♂️
dead batteries awsome
Not a generator. It’s an inverter. If are thinking about emergency power for the likes of hurricanes or other extended power outages it won’t keep the refrig/freezer cold. Might as well get a portable 2,000w generator. The inverter can not even start a standard home refrig. The inverter is a gadget for small appliances/phones and only for short powder outages. You need to have solar or 110v to recharge it. So what’s the point?
ok
You only have to run or plug in the refrig about 30 minutes a couple times a day to keep it cool just keep the door shut and in shade
Stay firsty my friends...
