5:22 “Typical of all Fuji cameras, you’ve got to wind only five times after the roll, otherwise the spool will loosen.” This happened to me on one of the first rolls on my Fuji GW690 when I first got it. I got light leaks at the top and bottom of the roll. I wondered what caused it. So it is the winding of the film onto the finished spool at the end where it happens? I will pay more attention to that the next time I finish a roll. Thank you for mentioning that about your light leak.
Thanks for the review. When I want better image quality than my small format film cameras can deliver and when I want more portability than my large format film camera, I shoot my 6x9cm Fuji GSW690 medium format rangefinder with fixed 65mm wide-angle lens and my 6x7cm Fuji GW670 medium format rangefinder with fixed 90mm normal lens.
Agree with a lot that is said here, superb lens and surprisingly clear viewfinder. Did you had to get this serviced before? My GW690iii has a faulty shutter that needs fixing and I am struggling to find a place that fix/service this camera in Brisbane.
Hey Zhan, thanks for watching. My camera didn’t need a service and it’s worked faultlessly since I’ve had it. Have you tried Van at Camera Tech in Brisbane?
@@peter-robinson no problem, always happy to help people navigate their way through the maze of choosing a camera. It’s on piece of kit I won’t be selling, that’s for sure.
@@doubleexposed3830 good to know you like it that much, thanks. I have other cameras I’ve build using mamiya 6x9 film backs but have wanted a gw too - so many cameras, so little time to love them all haha
Thanks for watching and the feedback. Chris an I both use an iPhone app LightMeter called Lux for all of our non metered cameras. We have handheld light meters for flash photography.
Wow those pictures you took really tell the tale. Great camera and you are obviously talented and took advantage of of the capabilities. Well done!
Thank you for the generous feedback. Much appreciated

Haven't been to Camera Tech, will drop by and ask. Also not opposed to traveling a bit if you know of any capable/experienced repair service.
