Brenda already has many awards already being retired on the farm with Jim, having a great partner like Jim, Also her wonderful garden and green house and Pansy the cow and being around all the wonderful horses from Ken down to Bree and new foal about to arrive shortly. Most importantly Brenda is away from the stress of nursing at a hospital and is close to her grandchildren when they come to farm for a visit.

Steady Ken would be in the 18 to 19\ Hands High Range . A hand is generally calculated at 4 inches to the human hand so at 18 H.H. x 4 inches to the Hand = 72 inches or 6 feet at the wither which where the horses neck joins the body to the bottom of the horses front foot on level ground . Then roughly add the measurement to the tip of Steady Ken's Ears makes a very tall horse
Ken and Buck were a beautiful site before Buck crossed over the rainbow bridge. Seeing those two working, pulling or romping in the field was one of my absolute favorite memories of the farm. I’m not to proud to say I shed a few tears when Buck left us but the memories will always be with me as I watch all the animals on the Gordon farm. I can’t get over how much Bree’s coat color has darkened. Looks like a whole different horse. Can’t wait to see what Lady blesses us with this go round. Fun times!!!:):):)
5/24 due date for Lady. Glad Pansy is eating grass and has a friend, she seems to be doing much better! You should get Pansy a bell, then you'll always hear her when she's coming in to get milked once you put her out on pasture. Love your channel, thank you so much for sharing with us. Pansy, Is definitely looking better because she's out in the mini pasture in the fresh air and sunshine . She's also grazing on the spring grass which provides with extra nutrients which will brighten up her coat . She's very pretty Jersey Cow

Un pasteurized milk is a delicacy, especially the cream.
I think the first time I drank “Town” milk it tasted terrible, still does.
I was raised on fresh milk, warm from the cow. Makes me drool just thinking about it. ❤️❤️

Quackgrass is a perennial grass.invasive, non-native that is very difficult to control. Generally considered less desirable for hay or pasture and competes with other crops
May 28th for Lady. Any waxing yet? Now that is a thing lotsa folks would not know about.

My father was a,horse whisperer to her majesty the Queen for 23 years in the UK from 1949-1972. He was born on a Lincolnshire farm in 1930 INSIDE the stables where he grew up working the shires beneath him before becoming a farmer and a corporal in the HCAV and riding the lead mare !
Your new colt will be named Harry or William as this was my Dads name.
Full moon is 22nd May and send me the apple pie !! I don't have a place for a hat !! But your colts will be born 3:00 am full moon night ! My dad was gifted as jim understandd how horses are gifted too @!

King George frequently permitted his daughters Margaret 19 and Lilibet 23 to ride alongside the trroopers in the HCAV particularly when supervised by my father inside the cavalry gates at Windsor castle @ As both a gifted cavalry man, and a 6"4" tall rider he rode the lead mare in the group .. He also became a blues and royals "legend" and, yo this current day in 2024 the blues and royals regimental drum horse is called Harry by order of her late majesty. Furthrmore in London in 1963 we were provided us with a direct phone line rom her private office to our house ... so not even 007 has one of those!!
There is a unique love that exists and understood by "horse people" .. there are beautiful graceful majestic moments around those animals.
And so, I also know that Prince Harry (her favorite grandson ) and

Jim and Brenda, Thank You for bringing us along on the plowing job today. Steady Ken looks really healthy and is definitely getting a good feed of grass for sure. It's great to have a big strong horse like Ken as the center horse on the 3 horse hitch and then being supported by Super Bill and Baron who is willing worker and on his way to becoming a great working Suffolk Punch Draft Horse .I really like the White 2 furrow plow and its consistency on the straight looking furrows. I'm so pleased to hear Pansy is now eating grass,. In a milk production farm where she came from she was obviously milked on a timed schedule with a minimum milking of twice a day. Pansy would have a natural internal clock and she would advise Brenda when it was time for milking . Without getting a close look at Lady's udder and whether she's starting to bag up and wax over and start drip a bit . I would guess Lady's fouling date is May 28th.

My guess is that Lady will foal the evening of May 28. I’m also guessing the foal will weigh 180 pounds. I’m hoping it’s a little filly but I will love it no matter if it’s a colt or a filly! I hope 🙏 lady will be ok and deliver a healthy baby.

I'm from North Central Iowa.
All of us grew up drinking raw milk.
I do not like the store milk because it just doesn't taste right.
I'm thankful that the government passed a law that now we can buy raw milk if you know of someone who has dairy cows.
Thankfully, one of our old neighbors still run a dairy farm where I can purchase raw milk.
There is nothing better tasting than raw milk after skimming the cream off of the top..
That cream is so rich that it's great and sweet to put in coffee and making whipped cream with.
I'm so thankful that I grew up on a farm even the the work was hard and the hours long.
I wouldn't have traded it for anything.

My guess is that Lady will give birth to a baby girl on May 27, Memorial Day. My suggestion for a name for the new girl would be Sadie, the same name we gave our new LG puppy. If the prize is a winter hat, I would pick maroon. If the prize is a baseball hat, I would also pick maroon. I absolutely LOVE the way you guys treat you animals with so much love and patience.
