May be there was 1 or 2 run off extras but still it's there for everyone to see how much baggage Sachin had to carry .... Not only he had to make his runs but for runs for his partners as well..... No disrespect to kohli or Rohit sharma but they always had support at the other end..... Sachin got that support after year 2000 so he basically Carried this team for whole decade of 90s.
That’s fact. After sehwag yuvraj dhoni. Pressure was released on sachin. But before that our batting was absolutely nothing. Medicore player like sanjay manjerekar, medicore keeper mongia. Thats why sachin play more fearless cricket after 2006/7. And his best scores kept increasing. He scored 163, 175, 200. All after 2007.
Also pitch were not used to be flat, n powerplay used to have less restrictions. For the purpose of majority of audience, who were bored with conventional cricket of singles, defend and maiden overs, the 20-20 came into existence and it revolutionized the cricket. Slowly n gradually, the nature of 20-20 contest is also taking the one day cricket form.

Since 1996 I'm still confused as to why this was called a virtual semi final . SouthAfica had already reached finals. India had already won 1 match in round robin vs Aus at Bengaluru and were at 3 points (1 game washed out). Aussies didn't win a single game and were at 1 point (thanks to washout). India. During the entire match I didnt see any NRR calculation being shown on TV or newspapers. Could you please help me understand? I've spend some sleepless nights thinking about this over the years 😅
