Thanks for the info. I was working on my pilots license, but my current job makes scheduling difficult. Was thinking of just buying a plane for now, and have it make passive income so I can work again on getting my license.
my dream job would be to have a to do sightseeing flights and some flight training, but oh god the certifications for it!
I live in duluth mn which is a very touristy city and there's more attractions up the north shore.
Skywriting would be an interesting way to make a few bucks.

Have never seen anyone win on the lease back. Now if you have a mechanics shop then it may work. I have always found that you buy you fly. Aviation is a hobby at best.

How much does simulator time costs for the Boeing 727 100
As you know, their are FAA hurdles to overcome, which you did not discuss. Anytime you haul a passenger, you have to satisfy FAA requirements which are costly, insurance costs are beyond stupid, also will not be able to haul people without the proper medical certifications, type ratings, complex, IFR, and the list goes on depending..... Pilot since 1975. You make it sound so easy when in reality, it is not. Better do your homework.

Very good point! However in order to do so you need at minimum a commercial license and a Part 135 certificate in order to do so, this can cost millions which is not feasible for most.

@@SOLIDIUS36 it's not about the true cost of airplane and pilot, it's about the FAA's liability when someone crashes, people die, and litigation is brought against the federal government asserting (right or wrong) "you allowed this to happen".

I think there is simulator time before you land the plane
If you have simulator time, they may let you land on the very first flight 😂 Otherwise it's the second lesson, no sim required. They may help out a little bit by adjusting power, but still. They give you pretty much full autonomy at a shockingly early stage
