It's sad that Sangam Tamil Literature is now only taught in Tamil Nadu. I'm a Tamil, I have noticed that, even today, Malayalees speak using Sangam Tamil words (like urakkam, ormam, etc.) in a day-to-day life casually, whereas Tamils only use them during formal speeches (not in casual speech). If Malayees learn Sangam Tamil literature, they will learn about their own history and know how modern Tamils and Malayalees got separated today. Sangam Tamil Literature belongs to all the South Indians, not only to the people of Tamil Nadu.

ഈ അടുത്തു വരേയ്ക്കും നമ്മൾ കരുതി പോരുന്നത് തമിഴ് ആണ് ആദി ദ്രാവിഡ ഭാഷയെന്നും,തമിഴിൽ നിന്നുമാണ് മലയാളം എന്ന ഭാഷ തന്നെ ഉണ്ടായത് എന്നുമാണ്. എന്നാൽ ഇത് തികച്ചും തെറ്റായ കാര്യമാണ്. കാരണം, നമുക്കെല്ലാവർക്കും അറിയുന്ന ഒരു കാര്യമാണ് മലയാളത്തിന് 2013യിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ട ഭാഷാ പദവി കിട്ടിയത്. ഒരു ഭാഷക്ക് ഈ പദവി കിട്ടണം എന്നുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ പ്രധാനമായും നാലു വ്യവസ്ഥകളാണ് ഈ പദവി നേടുന്നതിനുള്ള മാനദണ്ഡം.
1. 1500-2000 വർഷത്തെ പഴക്കമുള്ള ചരിത്രരേഖകളോ സാഹിത്യകൃതികളോ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കണം;
2. ഈ ഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് പാരമ്പര്യമായി ലഭിച്ച ഒരു കൂട്ടം അമൂല്യകൃതികളോ പുസ്തകങ്ങളോ ഉണ്ടാകണം;
3. സാഹിത്യപാരമ്പര്യം മറ്റു ഭാഷകളിൽനിന്ന് കടം കൊണ്ടതാകാതെ സ്വന്തമായിട്ടുള്ളതാകണം;
4. ഭാഷയിൽനിന്ന് പരിവർത്തിതമായ ആധുനിക ഭാഷയ്ക്കും സാഹിത്യത്തിനും പുരാതന ഭാഷയിൽനിന്ന് പ്രകടമായ വ്യത്യാസമുണ്ടാകണം.
ഇതിൽ പ്രാധാന്യം അർഹിക്കുന്നത്, മലയാളവും അതുപോലെ തമിഴും വന്നത് മറ്റൊരു മുൻഗാമിയായ പൊതുഭാഷയില്നിന്നാണ് എന്നതാണ്.
ബി.സി. അവസാനശതകങ്ങളിലും ഏ.ഡി ആദ്യശതകങ്ങളിലും കേരളമുൾപ്പെട്ട വിശാലതമിഴകത്ത് നിലനിന്നിരുന്ന ഭാഷ തമിഴല്ലെന്നും തമിഴ്-മലയാളം ഭാഷകളുടെ മുൻഗാമിയായ പൊതുഭാഷ ആയിരുന്നുവെന്നും ഭാഷാ പണ്ഡിതന്മാർക്ക്/ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞർക്കു തെളിയിക്കാൻ പറ്റി. അങ്ങനെ വരുമ്പോൾ തൊൽകാപ്പിയം മുതലായ ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളും സംഘകാല സാഹിത്യവും തമിഴിന്റേതു മാത്രമല്ല, മലയാളത്തിന്റെയും പൊതുസ്വത്താണെന്നു വരുന്നു. സംഘകൃതികളിലെ വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കാൻ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടുള്ള ഭാഗങ്ങളെ *മലൈനാട്ടുവഴക്കങ്ങൾ എന്ന് തമിഴ് പണ്ഡിതർ വിളിക്കുന്നത് അവയുടെ മലയാളബാന്ധവം വ്യക്തമാക്കുന്നു*. തൊൽകാപ്പിയത്തിലെ ചില വ്യാകരണനിയമങ്ങൾ മലയാളത്തിനുമാത്രമേ യോജിക്കൂ എന്നർത്ഥം.
ചുരുക്കത്തിൽ, നാം ഇതുവരെ കേട്ട് ശീലിച്ച ഒന്ന്, തമിഴിൽ നിന്നാണ് മലയാളം ഉണ്ടായത് എന്നത് തെറ്റാണെന്ന് ഇന്ന് തെളിയിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്നതാണ്, അതായത്, തമിഴിനും മലയാളത്തിനും മുൻഗാമിയായി പൊതുവായ മറ്റൊരു മാതൃഭാഷ നിലവിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നർത്ഥം.

Because before this 31 Alphabet SenTamil which came into practice in 3500-3700 ago in present Madurai there was an Tamil called Karum Tamil which had 51 Alphabetical system.... First and second sangam Tamil had 51 Alphabets......

Sir, You have correctly mentioned Sangam age, i.e.2nd century BC to 3rd century AD. Silappathikaram was written in 1st century AD by Ilango adigal younger brother of great King Chetan Senguttuvan who ruled Kerala with his capital Mahodayam I.e.Kodungallur near Calicut. Senguttuvan conquered North Indian kings, inscripted bow and arrow, chera's logo in Himalayas, brought rocks of Himalayan mountain on the head of North Indian king and built temple for Kannaki in Kerala such was he a powerful monarch. This is history.
