- Many basketball greats like Gregg Popovich, Luis Scola, Ettore Messina, Dino Meneghin, and Marco Belinelli arrived in Milan to spectate Giannis Antetokounmpo's greatness at EuroBasket 2022. The Greek Freak registered a double-double of 25 points & 11 rebounds and came out victorious over Italy at the packed Mediolanum Forum.

Giannis is an amazing basketball player. But he does play dirty and very often gets away with it. Which is weird. Plus, unlike LeBron, put Giannis in a below average team and he probably won't be able to take them to the finals. Even Steph couldn't without help. Some players are amazing as individuals. Some make teams very dangerous. And not all players command the same type of respect. Jordan's offense, LeBron's impact on any game, Curry's 3pt shooting, Kawhi's defense are all skills that anyone who doesn't have their body type can come close to learning or even mastering. But with Giannis, most people simply don't have his height, AND the ability to still be THAT athletic, at 7ft. Giannis is a cheat code. It's unfair to other people. That's why he gets hate. Weird but also understandable.

@@TMPOUZI Scola is Chief executive officer of Varese and Popovic was a guest of Messina. Still both of them don't have any link , basketball wise, with Giannis or Greece to claim that they attended the match for them. The basketball links with Italy are evident

Too bad that Thanassis and Papanikolaou didnt have much luck from the 6.75 but I am a bit worried about the performance of Kalathis in the last 2 games.

Congratulations to the players of the Italian brothers but the Giannis phenomenon cannot lose easily. Itoudis needs more focus to save Mr. Kalathis' career which is going from bad to worse. Also, a big star is born and it is called Ntorsey.
Mr Kalathis is very unstable at his performance...And Greece unfortunately hasn't alternatives for playmaker...
Itoudis is probably the best coach Greece ever had. He studied basketball at the University of Zagreb and was under Obradovic guidance for years too.

The opinions of people who don't know basketball are crazy sometimes. Dorsey had a great shooting game, but Gianni finished with a PER of 31. He wasn't the best offensive and defensive player of his team, or of this game. He was the best player of all the games from Saturday.

Man maybe you are very young but the italian coach is Pozzecco an italian legend, he played in the 90s and early 2000s and he was a very good player, he's known not only for his talent but also for his craziness, obviously in a good way. This is his way of showing emotions and as you can imagine this game was full of it, but he is a great coach and he creates also in this way a connection with players. But I don't know if you are european but he is not the only way to be like this in europe

And I also understand it kind of represents Italian stereotypical mentality of loud and passionate, helps lift up the crowd and players and helps with referee calls.
