I shot 93 yesterday, constantly battling slicing the ball out of bounds/ pulling it left , watched this video , and the next day shot 79 . What a great video, best piece of golf advice I’ve ever received
Been playing on and off since I was 11, always had problems hitting the driver. Slice was always a problem. Had 6 lessons when I was 18 6 iron in every lesson. 26 now and watched this last march and watch it monthly. Driving the ball better than I ever have. Great video and down to 10
Hey Andy and Piers! Could you guys maybe do a video on the "feels" of the golf swing? Like what golfers should feel in their body during weight shift, top of the swing, etc..? Thanks and your videos are great!
Great tip guys! Hopefully this will help me as well, can't wait to try it out!
Love you guys! You fixed my slice! I'm now in the left/straight/right phase, but a higher percentage are going straight. Thank you!
Great video guys. I have the same problem - focusing on keeping on plane and yet still slicing and couldn't figure out why. I am going to really work on the takeaway and see where it gets me. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
thanks mate thanks, can't wait to try this drill.
Great tip gentlemen, nice and simple.
Very helpful! Cheers lads!
Thanks for the tip! Most helpful tip I got so far. I play less than the year, I had serious troubles to solve the slice issue and it stopped me to get HCP
After 2 weeks of going down the range and splaying balls left and right I watched this video and within 6 strikes of the 7 iron it's going straight... every time!! 👍🏻👍🏻😀😀 cheers guys! loving the videos. well done on 250k and I remember you when you were at 3 hammers!
Great video drill guys I hope this sorts my problem too I hit too many straight left & have a slight slice sometimes .👍👍👍👍
Thanks a lot for this lesson, it has helped me a lot, cause exectly this was my Problem.
Thanks for this, gents. The tee drill has completely stopped my slice...been bombing them straight after watching this. You guys rock!!
love this thought guys! the tee drill INSTANTLY told me that my club face was open from the get go. To practice this feel of being connected on the take away, would you recommenced hitting half shots to get the feel down?
Great vid again guys!!! Brilliant stuff
Thans Minowi!
THANKYOU. I had wondered what my issue was and this seems like it could be it! Can't wait to try it out! Thanks guys!
Keep us informed Mark. Hopefully this helps!
Great tip. Also love your tips on early extension. Keep it going lads.
+Nick Puccio Thanks Nick. Glad to help.
Thanks for this great lesson,it has helped me greatly.
+Allan Croall Great Allan.
Great video as always with a teaching style to make it easy for us to understand.
I previously and sometimes still do have a problem with coming over the top resulting in the more than ocassional slice.
I find the 'over the top' motion is mainly the result of poor sequencing in my downswing, particularly starting my downswing with the upper body.
I have found that by concentrating on starting my downswing from the ground upwards (as it should be!) with making a small shift (to the left) in my hips before rotating helps with bringing my upper body and club down on a better, more desirable plane. I would be interested in your thoughts on this method and if you could expand on what and how I could do better. I could upload my swing for review.
I have picked up on other teaching channels that the feel I should get is the club shaft is dropping. This is something I struggle to 'feel' and am more comfortable with this being a result of better sequencing.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated.
Keep up the good work. Carl
Good video guys, also liked the one where you played a few holes with Mark and his friend. My usual miss is a pull, very frustrating. Been seeing a PGA teacher here in the states and he has suggested trying to think fade when I swing. Reason being it will help hold off the release a little. A bit hesitant to aim a little left when you pull it from time to time....Any comments appreciated.
I have exactly the same problem with my clubface!! Hope this helps me out!
Used to hit a draw and started to hit pulls, fades, slices and shanks! Nothing that I tried seemed to work until I concentrated on getting my weight from the balls of my feet and onto my right heel by the time I completed my backswing. As soon as I done this I started to hit the ball straight and also some with draw.
Great analysis and solution as always !! Thanks guys :-)
Thanks Mirco!!
This was so, so helpful to me. Thank you. I've been working on swing path but my face control is (almost) always open.
Hi Jame. Glad this has helped you! Please just let us know if we can help in any other way!
Top tip again my issue is more inside the over correct to outside, I have been working on this for some time this explanation is simple..
Thanks Tony. Hope this helps you out. Thanks for all your feedback!
Fantastic tips chaps!
ben goodman Thanks Ben
Thanks for making these videos. They have helped my golf game. What about pulls with short irons? I have an issue with 9, pw, & sw. I ocassionally pull these clubs. Usually when I'm trying to hit them hard. Is it where I'm placing the ball in my stance? I'm not coming over the top. I drop my right shoulder when gripping my clubs to keep from coming over the top. Thanks Sean (Atlanta, Georgia USA)
Hi Sean. If the ball is curving in the air to the left too then it is a club face problem (closed). If the ball is flying in a straight line left then it will be swing plane or alignment. We recently done a video on the face in the backswing so check that out. It is the most recent video.
I used this tip today on the course and I really worked. While I still occasionally sliced it my rate of hitting the fairways with my driver started to increase.
Great tip! I think you just hit on something that I have been struggling with. Never realized how the takeaway can influence an over the top swing. Thanks!
Glad to help Ryan. let us know how you get on and if you have any questions please just ask.
Will be trying this technique as my slice is killing my game and finding it demotivating but persistence is key so with your help hopefully I can advance
Adam Beebee Hope it helps Adam!
Thank you! This is my exact problem. Its been killing me. I played terrible today. I am spending my day off tomorrow at the range working on this.
Got out to the range to try these tips. Saw a good improvement. Still pulling a little now and then but a big improvement overall. Also chunking quite a bit but I believe that is due to a failure to shift my weight on the downswing. I don't always do it but when I do it results in a chunk. The other thing I see myself doing is leaning forward or dipping in my back swing which throws my whole plane off and results in mis-hits. I have so much work to do.
Great !
Hi lads iam a 6 handicap player and have been for some years but of late iam finding iam struggling to hit my recovery club and 3 wood in the air iam hitting them thin and with a slight fade can you advise me if you can
how do you get the face in the right position if you know it is too closed at the top
Hi guys. What if you've got the opposite, a push/hook? I'm fairly sure my path is ok and my irons are a comfortable draw, so i'm assuming it's most likely to be a clubface issue in the takeaway?
Hi Aaron. If you are drawing the ball then your path will be slight right (if you are right handed). What is the shot you are most scared of, the hook or the push??
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure to be honest guys. I would say the hook, because the hook usually is low and short, whereas the push is just normal shot length right of target.
When I feel like i'm making a standard swing, the miss is usually hook short left, but when I think about coming from in to out across the ball it turns into a straight push. Which if it had the usual draw shape (going by my irons, even my long irons) would probably be a good shot. However it doesn't seem to want to turn over. The only time I get on a launch monitor is at my monthly lesson so I don't get chance to check things like path/angle of attack/clubface angle etc so would be nice to have something to check whilst on the course to see if something's gone pear shaped.
Is there a drill for the opposite of this i.e. taking the club too far inside on the takeaway?
Nice vid as always guys.
Hi Andy. This drill works for taking the club too far inside also. Give it a go and give us your feedback.
Thanks guys,will do :)
Anyone know where they bought their shirts?
My son slices a lot of his shots to the right
He changed his grip and he said it felt awkward
Is there anything to help him hit it straight
Thanks

11.1 handicap going to try this drill after having a shocking medal today can’t hit straight for longer then a two days
What about how to stop duffing drives completely. Like hitting it off the driver 10 feet
I was the same, my shoulders feel to tight to do this??
Brilliant lads. Slice gone....
Great Chris!
Watched this, then went out on the course 2 days later, shot 87 !!
Chris Booth That's great Chris!
Actually getting a slight draw now. That's a first for me.
I'd prefer a slice than a hook any day
Hit the ball already so we can see what you're talking about in action.
vids could probably use some better scripting. those moments where you two speak over each other are distracting
thanks mate thanks, can't wait to try this drill.
