- Welcome viewers to the third instalment of Train horns of the year! This year has all been a bit weird but as and when it’s been allowed I have been out getting tones so I could produce this video as normal. I hope you all enjoy and thank you very much for watching and also a special thanks to all the drivers for making this possible!

would love to do that....you can tell its 2020 all the trains are empty and the drivers are the only ones listening ... love it
11:03 Fun Fact: 82225 has the sharpest horn out of all the MK4 DVTs
That DVT Ilkley was my favourite. Great tones mate
My uncle said he was driving number 67.So epic that he made it into a vid!
Tell him that it was amazing!
19:52 hes a Newcastle driver, spoke to him a few times
Wow 105 spots this year! Great vid as always! :)
The fact that you ranked these just made me happy lol
19:53 I've seen that driver twice on the ECML at Peterborough doing those exact tones!
Dylan, a Newcastle-based driver.
He’s a legend
YAY! Been waiting for this!
I know them very well
I saw an 800 and 801 in York
A 37 a few minutes ago
I don’t see most of those trains well
I recognise those a lot in my back garden
Can't wait Nathan!
Now this is real class content.
1:56 it’s nice and 26:57 this is a nice football horn!
Thanks 😊
8:15 thats a really nice horn!! It’s a 5 tones
Thank you!
Great horns from the drivers
I especially like the ones with a Doppler effect.
@Detra Cherchio ok???????
Great Video, Really Enjoyed :)
6th Place.. Honestly it deserves first. IT'S OUTSTANDING.
OMG you returned
Best train horns ever
Did you get all those train tones but not 150125 lol
Great video
Nothing can beat 19th place
Frintliner
The one of 150 277 at swinton south yourkshore I’ve not had tones like that’s since a 70 came through in autom 21
Thanks, hopefully you get some more again soon 👍🏻
2:23 best (or at least my favourite)
Yes finally!
I'm your 750th sub :)
Nice darth vader horns and ilklys
Yay :)
43rd place has got the most tuneful horn
Nice
Btw where do you spot find tones like these 🇬🇧👍
All over now! I know a few drivers and see a lot of legends when I’m about!
Do you have a 2021 version of this coming up at all?
Well done 150270👍👍
Hi
What is the Song or Sound name of Number 94??
Lovely video is there a way I can enter it for 2023? And if I get any tones?
It’s not something I’ve done before. Always been my own footage. Although I could look into it if you wanted to feature? :)
What editor do you use
NICE VIDEO
Thank you very much!
78th Man that's a rare train
96th place can be a tune in the 150
The last horn kinda sounds like a Leslie RS2M
I got a few clips for you for 2022 if you want them unsure if there just yours or if you get sent them if so I have any amount of tones 14 or under
Northern drivers are the best
Quick question, what does ilkely mean?
it’s a type of horn, usually it’s low-high-high-high-low-high
I think 16:30 is the best
Yeah when’s the 2021 Version or are you taking a break this year which is fine
Nope there is one coming but just not had a lot of spare time at the minute :( it will be worth the wait though ;)
I like the class 66 .
Who would have thought a lowly 150 would get first place - pretty tuneful though!
Not quite a pacer though 😉😂
@@eastcoasttrainspotting5673 so when is the 2021 and 2022 editions happening? 🤨
What happened there did you record two loackos
How do you get trains to toot the horn all the time
Friends, luck and waving!
What good places are there around near Swindon
Not sure, not an area I’ve really ventured near. Best suggestion is to have a look on UA-cam for videos near there!
Number 2 should be first, number one has 40 tones number two has 42 tones
Thanks for the comment. I number based on a variety of aspects, including volume, tune, pitch, number of tones, weather conditions and more, as well as my personal opinion. Hence why sometimes less tones place higher (or in this case won) Hope you enjoyed!
@@eastcoasttrainspotting5673oh ok, thank you yes I enjoyed.
2:08 good old class 150
8:11 loud class 91 horn!!! Mega horn. That's not an 8 tone horn! That's a 5 tone horn
21:11 where is that?
I seen the premiere
11:03 no i think its a 9 tone
Can you add a compotition on scotrail trains plz
I don’t go up that way enough to unfortunately, however I am looking at heading up soon to make a couple of trains at videos if that interests you? If so any particular locations you would like to see? :)
@@eastcoasttrainspotting5673 anywhere I don’t mind but make shore the class156 scotrail is somewhere in the compotishon vid as in 2025 they’ll be gone from scotrail
How about you do the west highlands railway Ayrshire routs Cathcart circle and Glasgow central for the next competition 🚃🚋🚃🚃 🚃🚋🚃🚃 🚃🚋🚃🚃
19:56
Is it just me or 99% of the time the drivers are doing the ‘shave and a haircut’ on the horn?
Edit: Dylan featured a lot in this video with his distinctive horn salute.
who's dylan, and what's the shave and a haircut tune?
@@TransportCambs
Dylan is a well-known driver for LNER, as he has a distinctive horn salute when he passes enthusiasts. The ‘shave and a haircut’ horn tune usually consists of a (low-low-low-low-low-high-high)
Edit: At 2:31 there are 2 examples of what it can sound like
ah right, cheers. hopefully I can get dylan at somepoint.
@@TransportCambs Mhm, he tends to give an extended horn tune when you’re with a lot of other people filming it etc. I’ve seen him plenty of times at Peterborough.
@@Ed_Gilbert does he have a channel?
11:25 funniest horn
It sounded like it had 3 tonnes for a second 😂
Ilkley
Lol 150270 gave you 90 tones in 2 clips
Isnt the 84th place a 220? Cause It had 4 coaches
Usually yes, but there are a small few (4 I believe) that have 4 coaches
@@eastcoasttrainspotting5673 The 221s only have a 5 coach variant and a 4 coach 221 doesnt exist
Unit numbers 221136, 221140 221141 and 221144 are the 4 coach units
20:00
24:59
where that place at 27:27
That’s a footbridge half way between Retford and rushey sidings, accessed through a footpath through the golf course
5:19 theres a rail bridge over a rail line?! Woahhh where?
Likely Retford
@@leccystar That is Retford
@@leccystar thaaank you

Friends in the right places mate lol 😉
@@eastcoasttrainspotting5673 hmm you have friends who have friends who have friends yes yes

Rushey sidings LC, about 2/3 miles out of Retford towards Sheffield
At 3:28 subtitles think it said ha ha ha ha
Well noticed 😂😂😆
Lol northen drivers giving u so many tones and I don't get any lol
where that place at 0:11
Gamston Level Crossing
84th place isn't a 221 it's a 220... 221 has 5 cars
That is generally true however there are four XC class 221 voyagers that only have four carriages. 140 being one and the rest being 136, 141 and 144.
