Reveille VI was the dog and everything burnie said seems to match up. Stolen found tied to a sign post near Lake Travis after an "anonymous caller" said where she was.
It's still CRAZY that Burnie's buddies did and got away with this, especially with Reveille VI following them so easily before they tied her up at Lake Travis.
Shortly after beginning her duties, Reveille was kidnapped by a group of University of Texas students led by Neil Andrew Sheffield.[11] For almost a week, Texas A&M denied that the mascot had been stolen. After the school finally acknowledged her disappearance and released a statement that they were planning to press felony charges against whoever took her, Reveille was tied to a sign post near Lake Travis and an anonymous caller informed the police of her location. She was returned unharmed to Texas A&M and resumed her duties.

Shout out to Reveille. I’m a student at an A&M satellite campus that houses majors not offered at the main campus. Bush at the inaugural ball in Washington, D.C. in 2001.[10]
I go to school in a town with two universities, so naturally there's a rivalry. We have a week leading up to the football game where we play each other that students from each side go & prank/terrorize the other school. The university I don't attend has a tiger as a mascot, and has a statue of a tiger on their campus. It's tiny and emaciated looking as Hell and apparently? the tail can just come off? so students from my university once stole the tail & were chased back to campus by students who were guarding the statue. college rivalries are Wild.
This is what i copy pasted from the A&M website. enjoy- Dec. 26, 1993: Reveille VI was kidnapped from her handler's family home in Dallas. She was four months old. Both Reveille V and VI were staying with Mascot Corporal John Lively's family's home in Dallas ahead of the New Year's Day Cotton Bowl game against Notre Dame. Reveille VI was let outside in the fenced backyard early in the morning, according to The Eagle. When a family member went to let her back in the house, she was gone. Lively and other E-2 cadets spent the next few days searching for Reveille before notifying A&M officials on Dec. 29. The alleged kidnappers, who called themselves the "Rustlers," contacted the Austin-American Statesman and demanded a ransom: "A&M had to publicly announce that Reveille had been stolen and state that UT was superior to A&M," according to The Eagle.

Although for the next four years she was able to resist her ailments and continue with her duties as mascot, these health problems would eventually lead to her early retirement in May 2001.[10] She was retired on May 12, 2001 into the care of Dr. Charlie Hall, who served as the veterinarian for Reveilles IV, V and VI.[12] She celebrated her 10th birthday on September 3, 2003, at a party hosted by Hall and his wife, Diana. Reveille VI was in declining health and was said to be taking nine different pills and two forms of liquid medications each day to help combat seizures and other problems.[10] Six weeks later, on October 18, 2003, Reveille VI was euthanized. The decision was made by Hall and other Texas A&M veterinarians because of her deteriorating health. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 2, 2003, at Kyle Field. Speakers at her funeral were former mascot corporals Mark Boynton, Class of 1997, and Jeff Bailey, Class of 2000. Following the funeral service, Reveille VI was buried among earlier Reveilles at the north entrance to Kyle Field.[13]
I like Gavin's idea for a super dog made from previous Reveille. It would be interesting to make Cerberus from Reveille 1-3. I wonder if the TAMU biology department can get a grant to do that from the TAMU association of former students.....
Have just read up about the 'dog-napping'. The sheer insanity of that university. Firstly, "Howdy, Miss Reveille, ma'am" is how they MUST greet her. They aren't allowed to even use the word dog to describe her. They went so far as to misunderstand it from being a prank that almost every university in North America does. THEY DON'T TEACH THEIR STUDENTS RESPECT. Sheesh, running a kid out of the school.
the corps of cadets at Texas A&M teaches their students the highest amount of respect possible. That student was kicked out of the corps because his job was to protect madam rev and he failed to do that. it's teaching them responsibility
In context to my statement, please understand that I find the idea of keeping a living mascot a very silly thing to do. I love animals, and do believe that it isn't right to steal them away (even for a prank). BUT. There is no respect in chasing a student away from their education. And if their education to be taught responsibility, then there is a big problem. Students shouldn't have to be taught that in college. We learn that by dealing with life as we grow up. Without the context of responsibility or respect (as you say is being taught to them, at such a late stage in life) then how are we seeing them in college at all? Not to mention the news that has only just recently come from the school displays an amazing lack of both (not to get off topic, but it is an unfortunate fact stated by the president of the NAACP chapter at that school that such incidents happen all the time on campus)
+ThunderBrightclaw I can't comment on the racial slurs that have been thrown out on campus that's just wrong and the rest of the student body is doing their best to make up for that. However, I don't think that student was actually kicked out of the college for letting the mascot get stolen, he was just kicked out of the corps which remember is an rotc unit so they're very strict
Understood, and I don't want to drag the rest of the students who aren't involved with that under the bus. Ah, now you see I understood it somewhat as the college was primarily a military college. Where I am from, if you get kicked out of military college, there is no other part of the college that you (for lack of a better word at this moment) get 'demoted' to.
Random guy #5951 Students from Tulane University once stole Mike, Louisiana State's tiger, painted him and his cage green (Tulane's colors), and then returned him after Tulane and LSU played their annual game.
yeah, that's because when the first Revielle was around, the corps members were not supposed to have dogs, so they tried to hide her, but she ended up barking during the bugle call, earning her the name.
Burnie was totally one of the guys that stole that dog
Thomas Willard that is extremely likely.
Allegedly
Thomas Willard according to an article about 30 students took part in the prank.
mkvenner2
So it's possible Bernie was a part of it
I would bet almost anything that you’re right.
you would think that A&M would have the sense to NOT BRAG THAT THEIR MASCOT HAD NEVER BEEN KIDNAPPED. That is INVITING mischief.
Ryan Tiemann see, here's your problem.
You're thinking A&M has sense
Bakorafanboy13 agreed
You could have stopped at “you would think that A&M would have the sense”
It is a pretty damn impressive thing to brag about though if you can. If only they could’ve gotten away with it...
They did set that up for sure.
Burnie knows too much of the operational procedures of the heist for him to be just "friends" of the perps. lol
TVFILMBUFF the details of the "heist" consisted of them opening a gate and saying "come here"
TVFILMBUFF he also keeps saying “we” instead of “they” lol
Ragelax no he doesn’t? He says they Everytime he’s talking about the dognappers
Imagine bragging that your mascot has never been stolen and then crying to the cops the second the challenge is taken.

At least that A&M ended up having to admit that Reveille was stolen so that hampered their proud status she had NEVER been stolen up until then.

I love how when both Burnie and Jack said "The Corps," it sounded very serious and epic.
Well you know in the the early 1900s THEY WOULD JUST TAKE OUR MASCOT AND EAT IT but if their precious dog got taken
THEY would press criminal charges
I know this video is older, but here’s why Reveille is the highest ranking member: in the military, working animals are traditionally one rank higher than their handler, even though it’s not officially recognized by the individual branches. There’s no clear reason, but some people believe it’s so harsher punishments could be inflicted on the handler for abusing the animal, others think it’s because some of the more seasoned dogs had just as much to teach new handlers as the human instructors. the corps of cadets at Texas A&M teaches their students the highest amount of respect possible.
+ThunderBrightclaw exactly, Texas A&M is a normal university so he just became a regular student
It’s obvious Burnie did it with them
I googled Revielle they weren't kidding they stole the mascot.
I just found the news article of that
It's a totally normal college prank lol
I want to see people try to steal Cal's Golden bear or Stanford's pine or UCLA's grizzly.
Random guy #5951 Students from Tulane University once stole Mike, Louisiana State's tiger, painted him and his cage green (Tulane's colors), and then returned him after Tulane and LSU played their annual game.
People stole Baylor’s Bear.
... You are too on the ball on this one. This was quite the quick upload. Or am I late to the party? I'll accept both as true honestly.
My college mascot is a tiger and I don't think anyone is going to steal that thing
Reveille is wake up in French
lol
Creepycreep Cause that is the name of the bugle call at 6:00 on all US bases.
yeah, that's because when the first Revielle was around, the corps members were not supposed to have dogs, so they tried to hide her, but she ended up barking during the bugle call, earning her the name.
I thought he said beavo instead Of beefo and that the mascot was a beaver
The mascot's name is Bevo.
Holy FUCK that was fast
that was fast.
