This macrame purse is one of my first designs, I created it in 2020 and after more than 1 year I decided to share this pattern with You! I show step by step how to make this bag, so in my opinion it’s beginner friendly too, although it might look complicated at first sight 😉

Size of the bag, without fringes:
21 x 17 x 3 cm
Total length of the belt 110 cm ( with hooks)

@@denizaym9220 each one took about 60 - 70 hours of actual knotting, because I was being extra careful. I could probably get faster with practice! ☺️❤️

EWA un comentario y observación cuando se está realizando los costados se puede ir cerrando al mismo tiempo ,introduces el hilo en cada nudo del lado contrario y solo te queda por cerrar la parte de abajo de esta manera te ahorras cerrar con otro hilo ,espero te sirva gracias desde Orizaba Veracruz, México

Hi!! I’m making this wonderful bag and I have a question. What kind of magnetic snap are you using? The one with legs that you pass through the material or sewn? I can’t really see and I want to add one for mine :) thanks!

I absolutely love this bag and want to make it. My problem is that the working space I have can only fit a 75cm starting cord. As the measurements for the bag are 21 x 17 x3 this would fit in. Is there a reason that I need 2m starting rope? I am new to macrame and this will be the first bigger project I attempt
Starting rope 2 m is needed, as after to sew the bag on the sides I use that rope 🙂 just start from the middle and tie both ends leaving them for later. Working space 75 cm is more than enough to do it 😉 good luck ! 🤗

Hi and thank You 🤍 I haven’t tried this model with t-shirt yarn, but I think it’s possible. I would add some extra length ( to be sure it’s enough) as in the tutorial is 3 mm rope. Using thicker t-shirt yarn the bag will have bigger size ! I would cut instead of 4.5 m -> 6 m. Good luck and let me know how it went! Greetings from Crete !
Loved it.. but I did with 4mm ropes and it was too short.. for 4mm ropes I sugest 5m ropes

Bonjour, je voudrais me lancer dans ce projet mais en légèrement plus grand (25 x 20). Je pensais rajouter 2 cordes de chaque côté pour qu'il soit plus large, mais pour la hauteur, 4 rangées de noeuds plats supplémentaires suffiraient ? dois-je également rallonger les cordes ou 4,5 m suffisent ? Hello, if You use 3 mm 3PL twisted rope You need to cut 70 cm longer cords ( 5.2 m) for the sides just 20 cm longer ( 1.7 m) For the width 25 cm I think 4 extra cords in total would be enough. Good luck and let me know how it went ! 🤗

You can use thicker cord, for example 5 mm braided cord if you want bigger size ( about 60% bigger )

Aniu, ponieważ z grubszego sznurka torebka będzie sporo większa gabarytowo to sugerowałabym długość 6 m. Ten model robiłam jak na razie tylko z 3 mm. Jeśli zdecydujesz się spróbować z 5mm daj znać jak poszło ! Pozdrawiam Ewa

Did the 28th row with dsk end with alternating dsk? Mine ended with that. Is it ok to proceed for the middle dsk. Does it makes a differences if it is a completed row of double square knot or alternating dsk. Please help.
Sorry I don’t understand your question… do you have 28 square knots on the sides?
Yes on the sides but the 28th row ended with alternating square knot so I did 29th row to make it even by having square from the start. Is it ok?
I completed the boho sling bag. I did few wrongs and corrected it. Your measurements are perfect. I had little excess which helped me not to panic running short of chords. Thankq ewa....
For the strap you gave instructions for 3/6m, so I understood that to be 3m will be the left cord and 6m will be the right cord when folded. Also, the 6/3 I understood that to be the 6m will be the left cord and the 3m will be the right Also when folded. Well, it did not work out that way and I'm all out of cord to finish the strap, what do I do ? Did you make a mistake on your instructions? I am going to make another purse and would love to know the correct measurements for strap. Also, you do not include the 3m cord you're using. Whether it's 3 strand, 4 strand, twisted, braided, etc. That would be so helpful.
The measurements are correct for the rope I used. I actually mentioned that I used 3 mm cotton rope 3 PL, it’s 3 strand twisted. You need to adjust the length if it wasn’t enough next time.
@@EWAMacrameCRETE yes I used 3mm cord as the instructions mentioned and i placed the cords according to your instructions and I followed it precisely. I've followed many you tube tutorials and use the cord they use and my projects have always come out precisely. This clearly was an error on the video because I was substantially short for the strap. Very unpleasant experience unfortunately, and much long cord left over from the purse itself but I'm ok with that.
@@marivelmendez8923Around 39:00 it's precisely said that each of the 3 ropes are 9m long, and in order 3m 6m 4,5m 4,5m 6m 3m, meaning only the second one is folded in half, the two others are folded so that they fit the required measurements and order ☺️
How long is the main part of the bag when finished with the square knots ? 44 cm ?

Βασικά, αν χρησιμοποιήσω το 5mm κορδόνι, με πόσες κλωστές να ξεκινήσω, να μη γίνει και πολύ τεράστια 😅😅

Τελικά αποφάσισα να βάλω κορδόνι 2,5mm γιατί το κορδόνι 5mm που έχουμε στο μαγαζί που δουλεύω, βγάζει 100 μέτρα στα 500 γραμμάρια και θα γίνει πολύ βαριά... 3mm δεν έχουμε, για αυτό και θα βάλω το 2,5mm. Σκέφτηκα να προσθέσω από 2 κορδόνια σε κάθε πλευρά, για να γίνει λίγο πιο φαρδιά. Έχω τρελαθεί με το σχέδιο, έχω δει το βίντεο 5 φορές για να το εμπεδώσω 😅
Πλέκω ένα φουστάνι με το βελονάκι και πιστεύω θα ταιριάξει απόλυτα! Είσαι η καλύτερη!

Can i use 4mm cords with the same measurements?
You need to use longer cords. Instead of 4,5m I would suggest 6m. But even 5m might be enough. Depends on type of cord you will use and how tight you make knots. Enjoy and let me know how it went!

@@EWAMacrameCRETE Just wanted to let you know that I made it and it turned out beautiful. Had to make a few adjustments to the design for the flap portion since there was not a lot of cord left at the end to complete the entire thing you did here, probably because I used the braided cord. I also made the sides of the bag 3 square knots wide, using 6 cords on each side, and that turned out pretty good as well.
All in all, an excellent tutorial and a stunning final result. Thanks a lot!!

Hello, I mean 4.50m. You can use 5m too, especially if you use different cord.
