Marcus, Mike, Randy and Crew, some people just know how to live life. You guys are blessed for sure. And get to share it with good friends such as Beau Beaty and the friends you encounter along the way, is like icing on a cake.
I recognize this footage from the three part series a few years ago. I must have watch that series a dozen times in preparation for our SE Alaska drawn black bear hunt. We learned so much from you guys. We too doubled up on bears. Keep the great stuff rolling. Cheers.
It looked like so much fun. Congratulations guys and what a blessing have a boss that would send you on an adventure like that. Good for all of you guys.
Great that you both got your bears. Good shooting by Michael, keep going until that bear is down. The contrasts in the coats of the 2 bears was really interesting.
I fell into the trap of listening to other hunters opinion regarding the taste of bear meat. I'd finally decided to form my own. I got my bear on a local wilderness hunt. Great hunt, called him to me to 100 yards. I've stewed the meat and have made Ossobuco. Oh man, it's been delicious. My wife even loves it. Wished I hadn't waited sooo long. Great video guys.
Really good one guys. Would you please do a video on the logistics of an Alaska hunt the planing travel and shipping to and from. As will as a gear dump. Thanks
I've started "tanning" all my hides a few years ago, I really like it. A Pressure washer is the way to go to flesh them. I've only "tanned" them with hair on so far. A youtuber from down under "Huntshack" did a great video on how to pickle the hides with hair on, and it works well. I've been wanting to try it on a bear hide.
My family, consisting of seven brothers sisters and spouses, were kayaking and canoeing across Jackson Lake in the Tetons about 12 years ago. A mile from shore a sudden violent storm popped up out of nowhere. We all thought we were going down but we kept our heads, paddled hard and after about an hour we made it to Elk island. I know the trepidationMichael was feeling. Ugh!
Micheal was not letting that bear get to the tree line. 😂 Nice adventure. Next time try deep frying small chunks of bear meat in a small pot of rendered down bear fat. It helps it from drying out.
What a freaking trip that's awesome. What if a seal bites my raft haha i literally was thinking that also Michael😂. What was Marcus medical situation when he was little or something like that, that was going to cause him to never be able to hunt or something like that. This video just randomly made me think about that and how blessed he is to end up getting to go on and be part of such epic hunting adventures
If you hot pack your meat(slightly browned in a pan) with some paprika it comes out a beautiful deep brown and orangy color that looks way better than gnarly gray cold packed meat. Looks like stew
Black from the coast are not as good as mountain/berry bears. If you get the opportunity, hunt them up high. In Washington, Idaho, Montana look for huckleberry patches. In Alaska, it's blueberries and any others in the high country.
I have a friend that used to live on Kodiak island. He had the opportunity and killed a big coastal brown bear. He swore he'd eat it. After one steak he turned the rest of it into dog food. He said it tasted like how rotten salmon smells.
Thank you
Mr. Newberg for sending these boys on such an epic adventure with full faith in their abilities enjoy and succeed 😊❤
