And the capsized Battleship in the background has hull number 38, Battleship hull number 38 belonged to USS Pennsylvania, which was present at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941, but did not capsize. 3:46 - The Zeke in the background has its' aileron stuck in the upwards position. 3:54 - Jeez that PT boat has to be going at least 100 miles per hour. 4:03 - What is the Zeke shooting at? lol 4:10 - During the Attack on Pearl Harbor, the aircraft used by the USAAF was the P-36 Hawk, not the P-40 Warhawk. 4:15 - Battleship with the hull number 75????? 4:36 - That light cruiser has the hull number 323. No such hull number was used by a light cruiser in the US Navy. 4:38 - A New York class battleship in Pearl Harbor? 7:30 - John Kennedy didn't command a PT boat until December 1942. 7:53 - PT-108 wasn't completed until July 7, 1942. PT-109 also wasn't completed until July 19, 1942. 9:39 - All the transports in the background have the same hull number. 10:44 - There was no US Submarine in WWII with the hull number 648. 11:24 - The "Dutch Submarine" is modeled after the USS Narwhal. 11:49 - The B-17 didn't see much combat in the Pacific theatre, instead you would more likely see B-25's or A-20's. 12:00 - USS Lexington's first major combat in WWII was during an engagement off of Bougainville, New Guinea, not Luzon. 12:30 - Why is the Catalina flying with its' pontoons down? 12:35 - The Fuso did attempt to fight a carrier strike group, but that was during the Doolittle Raid, not after a raid Luzon. 12:55 - Fuso was sunk in 1944, not as early in the war as seen in the game. 14:41 - The USS Fletcher seen in the cutscene is her after a late-war modification. She did not look like this in January 1942. Plus the USS Fletcher wasn't even built until June 30, 1942. 15:21 - IJN Yamato wasn't present at the Battle of Balikpapan, 1942. Plus at 30 NM, she would be able to fire a the US Destroyers raiding Balikpapan. 17:11 - USS Houston did not have the hull number 342. Instead the hull number was 30. 18:23 - HMS Hotspur didn't take part in the battle of the Java Sea. 22:12 - Why is the Captain on the flight deck during an ongoing battle? 22:52 - There are no recordings of undamaged Japanese Aircraft crashing into the USS Yorktown in WWII. 25:08 - Wow that watch tower is seeing the Japanese fleet just like he's right in front of them! 25:34 - Aircraft Carriers would NEVER sail that close together. 27:31 - This is the third time we see a Fuso class Battleship after two have been seen to be sunk. Only two of the Fuso's were ever made.
Many people don't know this, but in the Midway attack starting on 25:24, the statements from the scout plane that found the Japanese were actually said.
The only problem is that the Japanese turned and steamed Northeast. The TBDs found them first and were slaughtered by the Zeroes. The SBDs got lost in the clouds and stumbled upon the carriers by accident while their decks were loaded with planes, bombs, fuel and torpedoes while the Zeroes were off chasing down the TBDs (thus leaving them with no protection). The course of the war was changed forever in about 5 minutes.
totalwar179 There's an Easter egg in BSP during the Japanese Pearl Harbor mission where you can strafe and destroy his PT boat, and the narrator subsequently says "His name was Henry......this is not his story". It's really dark!

Misidentification of enemy warships was actually extremely common during World War II, particularly with submariners, but it often happened during surface engagements too; Japanese crew members regularly mistook newer US destroyer types, such as the Fletcher class, for cruisers.
No they're right. It's Yamamoto. You're mixing up the guys name with the Yamato-class battleships probably. Yamato is an older/traditional name for Japan.

@@crusadercats1921 i agree With you about the better multiplayer because then bsp you would lose your aircraft carrier very quickly and unrealistically just by bomb unlike in Battlestations Midway which you could pound an enemy carrier that has the water and fire on with three full squadrons of SBD dauntless from three carriers each plane packing a 1,000 lb bomb and it still wouldn’t die Plus the sound design was much better
