If you have ever dived with them, you realize that they're really quite intelligent and have personalities. Its a kind of fish that i always return to the water now. There are plenty tastier and dumber fish out there. I like your rig. It reminds me of my dads rigs.....no messin about lol
They are great eating at that size, it’s a few grouper species in the US we eat regularly over 300lbs and it’s a restaurant favorite. They also eat everything in the reef nonstop, so managing grouper and sharks are very good for the ecosystem. Little fish matter too lol

There's that bizarre American idea that natural habitats have to be 'managed'. The only thing they need to be managed from is human activity and invasive species that we have introdiced. These habitats looked after themselves just fine before humans. Once you remove a top predator from a habitat, it becomes unhealthy. They keep the fish populations healthy. If youve ever dived with one, you'd realise that they are at least as intelligent as a small child and recognise individual divers. And I like eating fish, but over a certain size, no way I'm gonna eat them. That's regardless of species.

Also, heavy metals end up being concentrated in fish at the top of the food chain. Microplastics as well. Large tuna have to be frozen to kill the parasites before consuming them as sushi and sashimi etc
