I think it's possible. I'm South African and South Africa is big. I noticed even Kongo is. Tribal wars are all about how people think. That controlled- surely possible (because the West controls us anyway all the way from several different timezones apart). They can and made us feel inferior- they controlled the mind. We have 11 languages in SA and I can speak almost all of them. They are connected. We never see the parttens because the discrimination blinds us from that. But I believe the united states of Africa is possible, but maybe in the EU form.
As for SAns, they don't hate foreigners but there's high unemployment rates and you wonder why the government still takes in more foreigners. The people of the country can't be scrambling for the same small bread with foreigners. It's honestly not fair. The Ubuntu you speak of allows you to share when you have, but if you share only to starve yourself- isn't that self-sabotage? So in the end, we all have to fight for.our countries to work. Media portrays my country as bad, just like the West controls the narrative to divide us. But it's just the truth of the matter.

White African from the South here. Africa united needs a few things to happen before it can start the journey to unity. The first and most important thing is quality education across the continent. We need the skills in order to build the foundation this unity will stand on. Once the skills are in place we need to start the process of beneficiation on an industrial scale. There is no reason for Africa to export its raw materials for peanuts when with the right skills in place we can produce the products the world uses our natural resources to produce. The salaries these skills generate will then increase Africa's consumption ability and the continent at that stage can consume a lot of those raw materials as well as the products local beneficiation produces, thus keeping that wealth on the continent to circulate and increase, creating local wealth all the way down the economic ladder....this is the tide lifting all ships.
Once everyone is eating and not fighting for jobs, the animosity redirects and then unity becomes a possibility. At that point we start the process with a single currency followed by open borders for trade. Then all the rest can follow until we are all grown up and sober enough to manage a unified Africa.
But first we need Africans to stop killing each other, stealing each other and hating each other. Europe is still battling with this 3,000 years after it started recording things and almost 50 years since they wanted to kill each other. There is no short-cut, and no point can be reached, however distant, if you refuse to take the first steps.

As a SAn, I don't agree with African Unity. Looking at how Black leaders are failing their black people. Some are hard headed and want to rule forever as Presidents. Some blacks are bullies, and unlawful in their countries. So do you think they will unlearn this behaviour after so many years of doing it? I personally disagree with Africa unite.

No we not ready us in South Africa we still want to deal with our leaders for failing us . United Africa will never work we would still be poor or in a lifetime debt . Africa as a continent is way under developed, water ,sanitation ,education ,infrastructure those 4 alone would bankrupt us if we try to get the whole continent to par . We are Africans yes but for now each to their own until we have a equally developed Africa

That idea must remain a pipe dream. You keep forcing it, what you will have is one gargantuan, apocalyptic implosion. There is nothing wrong with what is currently. Learn to manage what is now, progress, develop, cooperate, work together but not a single entity.

Africa always had Kingdoms we were never the same people.i think this will never work..i mean look at our fellow African countries their leaders are selfish they dont care about their own people, and they are making their people out responsibility..so imagine if we agree to open our borders every one will come running to the south.Cape town will become an over populated filthy city like lagos. Before we start talking about african unity everybody needs to be in their country deal with their leadership clean your own house...thers nothing for most of us SA in Zimbabwe, Nigeria,Mozambique, because we fight every day to make SA a better place for us and our kids

All things are impossible, until they're not - African unity doesn't necessarily mean that the entire continent becomes 'one country'.The European Union doesn't function that way (to all intents) and Africa is far too big to be governed that way anyways.
However, there are a few pillars of foundational elements that we CAN realise if we just stop this stupid bickering amongst ourselves about a past that no longer exists at the expense of a future that COULD be.
For one - Education. This is a no-brainer. We absolutely have to fix our broken education systems. Next on the line - movement of people. Regionally at first to allow for assimilation and growth by opportunity. Once those regions have reached a certain level of equilibrium, then that can be expanded on.
Then, we need to bring back the honour of the working class. We need working people to be treated fairly and paid correctly - this will encourage the working men and women we need to power the rebuild of infrastructure.
But I think that most importantly, we have GOT to get over this inferiority complex that I suspect is an internalised hangover from the colonial days - Australia works because they recognised that they did not possess all the skills they needed to arrive at the end they were hoping for, so they looked to countries that did whatever they needed better - and brought those skilled people to Australia. When last did you see a white man win the 100mt sprint? When last did a black man win the 100mt breaststroke? Quite obviously God has gifted all of us with unique gifts and they work best - when complimented with each other. We don't need to move to Australia or Europe - we just need to re-create it HERE! How do I KNOW that this is possible?
There has NEVER been one SINGLE diamond mined in the United Kingdom or France.
    It IS possible.🙂

That would be disastrous because we are struggling to unite the different tribes within our countries. Imagine now trying to govern the various tribes of this continent with about a thousand languages. Tribal wars will be the order of the day. We should stop romanticising this idea. It is impractical
