Well said. No society is perfect. There is the good, bad and ugly. Doesn’t mean you can’t love a place. But also doesn’t mean someone has to love a place. And people’s experiences are subjective. It is someone’s right to have an opinion. Criticism is a drive to improve but also is a way to engage to share information and correct each other.

Hey, I understand where you're coming from, but let me share some perspective. For many Africans, especially in countries like Kenya and South Africa, the history of colonialism and exploitation has made them sensitive to criticism, especially from outsiders. It's not that they can’t take constructive criticism, but it’s often seen as an extension of historical prejudices or stereotypes. Many Africans are proud of their culture and progress, so when someone comes with a perspective that might seem dismissive or uninformed, it can feel like a continuation of the same old narrative. However, what helps is mutual respect, understanding the context, and acknowledging the strides that African countries have made. Every country has its challenges, but approaching criticism with humility and openness can foster better conversations. Keep the real talk coming, but with that sensitivity to history, you’ll see a deeper understanding from your African audience.✌

@@TheLolopEffect it all stems from inferiority complex. We hold each other at low esteem. We pedestalize white people and trash fellow African. We can take criticism from a white person but not from our own. An African woman can marry a poor old white man, but won't do that to a young handsome well built poor African man. Until we all pull out of poverty, this character will not end. When you are rich, you don't bother what others say about you. You r is esteem is sky high.

Kenyans are the worst when criticized. Am saying this as a Kenyan. There is a delusion in Kenyans that we are developed, it makes me cringe. Much of nairobi is a slum, 70% of it, the middle class live in slum like areas. Open drainage with stagnant sewage, ugly non finished exterior of buildings, chaotic streets, no paved sidewalks, dirty streets with people throwing litter all over. Kilimani still have ugly broken pavements. You need to watch videos of cities like Gold coast Australia and calm your asses down.

Context and individual experiences play a significant role in determining what is considered "better." one person might prefer a movie because of its emotional depth, while another might favor action and special effects.
