Many thanks as always, CosmicPumpkin. Really, really enjoying the series thus far. Amol has certainly settled into his role seamlessly. Picked up a fair few answers myself too, but fully expecting my good fortune to run dry fairly soon!
Ohhhh on the question about top goal scorers, Lincoln should have been cheeky and just said. "I'm just going to say a typical German surname like Müller" wink wink
It's good to have a solid historian on your team. Mr. Tatoglu did a magnificent job answering the questions in humanities and the social sciences. He knew his US history! Well done,
More than that ! We are a worldwide community (i am from France) and we all thank Cosmic Pumpkin for his great job . I would like to commemorate Dave Garda , too. U.C. is bigger than anything else because these two men ! ☆☆☆
Thanks Pumpkin! So many questions right up my alley this time. Languages, fantasy, anime, even football. Must have been my personal top score this year. From the comfort of my room, obv.
Mr Tatoglu certainly knows his Geography :), amongst many other things. On a more sour note, that's the first time this series we've got a sub-300 aggregate score and only the second time a team got under 100. Lots of dropped starters and the bonus conversion rates of 18/39 and 6/12 aren't as high as we've been recently spoiled with. Not sure how I feel about the winners - need to see what they can do in the next round. Kinda got the vibes I did from Emmanuel's win a few weeks back - we'll just have to wait.
It appears contrary to what I thought, and what Mr Rajan implied in other shows, that Southampton are in the HSL, and they play Trinity. Usually, they do 2 vs 3, and 1 vs 4, which means ATM the other HSL will be Oxford Brookes vs Open, and both fixtures sound tantalizing 😀!
Thanks again, CosmicPumpkin! Another runaway, in what has become a recent trend. I played my little guessing game again, predicting the result of the match based on how well-balanced I thought the team was according to the fields of study. And like the proverbial blind squirrel in a blizzard, I found success against all odds. My track record to date has been abysmal. I guess I was due one. About the match, I thought the winning team was a good, but not great team. Very likeable, and perhaps they'll do better later on, but I would not rank them among the four best teams I've seen. I'm not sure they'd be among my eight best, either. But as I've said before, a team in it's first game can look very different later on in the series. My best to both teams, and to each individual.
Thanks for the upload! Tatoglu was truly a standout on the starters but I don’t think their bonus conversion rate will be enough to get far. We’ll see!
I am watching this as an American. It is interesting that they had got all those difficult questions about America correctly, but they could not name the correct seaside town in East Sussex.
Well, they were very close. I have driven that south coast route many times. Hastings and Bexhill are almost a continuum, and when you drive from Folkstone to Eastbourne, you drive through Hastings and Bexhill, and somewhere in there you drive past the De La Warr Pavilion. I actually called Hastings as well, so it was an easy mistake to make, even for local residents!
As usual a very enjoyable episode. I have been a fan since the Bamber Gascoigne days, and I thought Jeremy Paxman was the perfect replacement. I was skeptical at first but I am coming around and beginning to like Amol 🙂 Thank you for posting Cosmic Pumkin, from a Brit UC fan living in Japan.
Sad for the losers....they never really got going, did they? Many congrats to the winners for a fine showing. Good luck going forward! Thanks for our Monday treat, Pumpkin!
Congrats to Lincoln..a good team effort but too much conferring, with no admonishment from Amol. Didn,t see too much of King,s..Bogo over enthusiastic on the buzzer. As always, greatly appreciated..thanks!
I was rooting for King's, since that's where I hope to study, but Tatoglu is a beast at geography. But yet compared to some other teams like Emmanuel from Cambridge, Lincoln does fall a bit short.
So many teams spend precious time conferring on topics they clearly know nothing about. Just pass and move on! Get to the next starter and rely on your buzzer speed.
Lol, yes, sorry, it does sound a bit odd. Curiously I've now noticed that Wikepedia has Southampton in the play offs but I'm sure I heard presenter say that Open had qualified. All will be revealed.@@gooscarguitar
Tatoglu is just amazing at his field. And the way he looks after answering a question right is like that he is in his villain era😂.
And as Dame Judy Dench one mentioned, the sip of water after answering correctly.
that eyebrow twitch sent me

Tatloğlu is a fucking beast
Can’t remember I’ve seen anyone getting only 3 out of their 8 attempted starters before. And still arguably the best player on the team.
appreciate this
Thanks as always!
Watching here because youre faster than iPlayer 🙄 thanks for all you do pumpkin 🌌🎃❤️

Great display by Lincoln and Tatoğlu in particular. Tough day for King's. Thanks for the upload Pumpkin.
Thanks again Cosmic P!
I notice this last couple of seasons that teams who do well always have a geography whizz in place!
Mr Tatoglu certainly knows his Geography :), amongst many other things. Baker did such a wonderful job captaining, truly leading the conversing & seeing to what the others had to say

The funniest moment was hearing Tatoglu go “Turkic?”
Surprised nobody got it, until the actual languages of the family were mentioned.
Not even the Turkish guy.
Thanks for the upload! Tatoglu was truly a standout on the starters but I don’t think their bonus conversion rate will be enough to get far. We’ll see!

A question about a place that "Somewhere Only We Know." 🙂@@martinstent5339
Ümraniye is proud of you ❤
Mr. Tatoğlu is certainly the MVP of Lincoln. I'm a bit worried though, since the others seem a bit relied on him for starters.

Are we sure Warde isn't Shirley Henderson's latest role?
😆
Thanks again, CosmicPumpkin!
Another tough one. Only got one no-answer.
Got EPA, that's one for me!
Tatoğlu is the MVP, although Lincoln have very obvious gaps in their knowledge that cause them to have an awful bonus conversion rate.
Awful? Last series people where raving about teams that at times had a conversion rate below 40%.
Please stop being an asshole😂
I was rooting for King's, since that's where I hope to study, but Tatoglu is a beast at geography. But yet compared to some other teams like Emmanuel from Cambridge, Lincoln does fall a bit short.
Amiodarone?!?
Is that what the kids are up to in London these days?
How do you prepare for quizzes like this
Tatoglu beast! Baker strongest captain so far!
Drummond and Warde serious support!
Very cohesive...
Lincoln are definitely contenders this season
Sadly they didn't go well in the second round... ='(
👍 Thanks for uploading 👍
This is the second time "Socialist Realism" has figured in a question this season.
No back up for Bogo! What a shame...
Bogo got the Fomo
I don't like King's for inexplicable reasons so its nice to see them battered by Lincoln.
You from UCL?
Anybody noticed the Turkish guy always gave a wink or smile to each answered question?
Not all, but enough to make one wonder what was going on.
Maybe he's got a thing for Amol.
😜
Quiz starts 2:50
Thanks

Just pass and move on! Get to the next starter and rely on your buzzer speed.
4:28 is so meme-able haha
19:44 "Not a weeb" 😂
5:41 [thought bubble] Hurry up Roger!
Tatoglu is giving me George Costanza vibes.
In USA so without you I can't view.iplayer only for UK.😊
VPN or Proxy Server, Baby!
Can anyone explain why Open have qualified for the play offs ahead of Southampton when they had the same score?
Usually it's because they answered fewer questions to get to that score
Thanks for that. I personally would like to see a play off but I presume scheduling would make that difficult. @@gooscarguitar
@@davidnaish2018 A playoff for the playoffs?

5 minutes in, Clarke seems like a weak link on kings team, deffo not capo
No "Did you enjoy yourselves?" from Raj. Very disappointed. 😁
He’s a gentleman
Thank goodness.
Such a pathetically meaningless and clichéd question. The sort of question they ask on Britain's Got Talent.
Well, Clarke looked angry for much of the match so I don't think they did...?
@@castelodeossos3947 Harsh. Just Raj being his thoughtful self. I was starting to enjoy it as his catchphrase. 😁
The pimento question is weird when you only know the word "Piment".
The toughest question: “what’s with the nail polish” ?
12:55 😏
King's seemed a little messy, specially considering they had 5 members: 3 english, a russian AND an italian.
Lincoln is amazing
Again the losing team got going too late. Thank you Cosmic Pumpkin.
Sultan said nothing!
Africa. USA. Gary Liniker.
got one right this time ;)
Kings are going to smesh!
Just looked more confident...
Shame on any of you who could not identify one of my favourite moons, Callysto 🤩
That the Turk Tatoğlu who was competent to say the least about a lot, was tentative about the Altaic Turkic language question was surprising …..
tatoglu is a freak!
First
this show is shite it's just a memorisation game and all they ask is about paintings and 'classics'
Thank you 🎃
thanks
