So sad but I appreciate you documenting the deed.
Thanks!
I am from Calgary Canada and watching this is so sad😭l watched many games on TV that were in this stadium.
Thanks for watching
I remember back in the mid 90’s being there for a Monday Night game between the Chargers and Raiders
So sad... Makes me angry when they say this stadium was old and out-dated... It was OUT-DATED because no one wanted to put money into it to make it for current uses. There are PLENTY of OLDER stadiums that were built BEOFRE THIS ONE that are still open for business. I did a lot of growing up in that stadium... Sad!
not really...there arent plenty of older stadiums in use
@@MA_808 My point is this stadium COULD have been saved if not for the CHEAP CITY...
@@loislane4583 I agree with you....the city and the voters are cheap....that is about fifty less fun things to do in a city which used to have a lot more fun things to do
@Dz Nutz you are right...Lambeau and Soldiers are about the only older ones and they each had huge upgrades...
@Dz Nutz well, they arent...so, in reality, people should have voted to build the new stadium which would have hosted another 40-50 events each year....plus the Chargers games....so, no concerts, no bowl games, no sky show, no motocross, no nothing....
What an awesome capture of a section of the light bar coming down (complete with sound effect).
Thanks for noticing!
This just makes me sick
It was great memories for fans visited SDCCU Stadium since 1969. It was very successful for sports, special events and relief aid for victims from flood.
It also one’s of greatest memories for Super Bowls, World Series and college bowls.
Over a million of fans attended the games from around the world 🌎
We all know we’ll miss SDCCU Stadium when Aztec Stadium will be open soon. I think Aztec Stadium will host for college football bowls, soccer and special events. I can visit San Diego for vacation.
Good Luck to San Diego natives!!!!
Besides the sports that were held there, what about the supercross or the monster truck shows that they had there. In order for those shows to be held there, it was a process and discussions over the grass beneath it.
Sad days in the 619 ⚡⚡⚡⚡4LIFE
Dang and been recording it when I go to see my family and record the demolition and sad to see the stadium torn down
OMFG ARE YOU KIDDING ME WITH THIS SHIT!!! Ok lets back up to when they wanted to change the name from Jack Murphy Stadium to Qualcomm, this was the hugest mistake. A mistake that has lead us to right now!!! Not to mention WHY the stadium was named after Jack, then yanked away like that---wtf!! I have SO freakin many memories of there that started when I was in my teens that span all the way up to when my kids were teens. The KGB Sky shows, the REAL shows that had the concerts all day long first, then the huge firework show that was sync'd to music on they're radio station. Someone else has to remember that!! Bc I remember WHY that part of the show was dropped, the concerts. I dont want to hear any of the typical things ppl say at times like right now either, like "your just upset coz you dont want change" or what ever generic line you want to say, this still sucks like a mutha to see happen---I dont care what anyone has to say in defense to it all. I am allowed to be butt hurt over this, this the town I was born and raised in, this is the town I had my kids in and they grew up here too!! I'm sure that there are other families that have more than 2 generations of memories in that building too. For fucks sake anyways---damn, just damn!!!
One year of blood and sweat to build it reduced to rubble with just 2 months of blood and sweat.
Taxpayers always get the shaft with these stadiums.
I guess that's why the mayor said naw
To a chargers fan from the dea this must of been hard to watch
It's like watching all the most iconic moments in San Diego Sports just being destroyed in front of you. No wait this is exactly what it is.
Where did the statue of Jack Murphy go?
Good Question.
@@LiftOff_Media if you find out could you tell us plez??

What are they going to replace Qualcomm with?
San Diego State aims to build a new 35,000 seat stadium in time for the football team's season opener against Arizona on Sept. 3, 2022.

@@LiftOff_Media 35000 isn't going to attract any NFL franchises or expansion possibilities
@@LiftOff_Media that lessens the sting a bit with SDSU using it for another stadium, rather than how it felt when Qualcomm came from I dont know where etc.
Scoreboard is gone as of this morning.
Thanks for the tip.....Unfortunately didn't get any video of scoreboard towers coming down.
but you can check out some 360 photo's on google maps.....

@@LiftOff_Media Great capture, thanks for the link!
I think they should leave the concrete frame of the scoreboard there.
It's already gone, they just tore it down today.
@@TheThunderbird63 dammit
I don't understand why the stadium was torn down? It could have been renovated which is much cheaper then building a new stadium. My Green Bay Packers team raised money through stocks and bonds 14 years ago to renovate Lambau Field which is much older then San Diego's stadium that was torn down. The cost was $197 million dollars at the time. And our Packers football team is the envy of the NFL that's publicly owned by our fans instead of a private owner who would sell out his fans by moving the football team to another city or state for more money and a better stadium deal which has happened to San Diego, Oakland, and St. Louis which lost their football teams by greedy owners who put money over fans.
Bro envy? Get real ain’t nobody envying a team that comes out of a place that’s known for cheese and fireworks 😂
@@solly773 Its a stated fact!! Would you rather have a private owner sell you out as a fan by moving your football team to another city and state? Or would you rather own shares as a fan in the football team where you have more say as a fan? your choice. Just ask San Diego and Oakland what happened to their teams who moved away on them?
A new NFL stadium would have hosted over 50 events a year for the people with Sky Shows, concerts, motocross, and more. But, no one wanted to vote for it. Oh, well... Im sure an NFL team will want to come to San Diego real fast and pay for everything so Qualcomm and all the other big employers and especially the voters wont be called cheap ass and they can save face.
These buildings must be poorly constructed. They never seem to last very long.
It was taken down because of poor management. Ever since the Spanos family bought the Chargers, they basically took as much care of it as Dan Snyder does with FedEx field now. The stadium was meant to last longer than it did, and you can see by just how long it took for them to demolish it. You'd probably couldn't wipe it off the map with a nuke, let alone standard demolishing meatheads.
state of the art 1968, hope and associates. been there hundreds of times for many events a lot of history here, so show some fucking respect !
