I don't mean to victim blame. My sincere advice to all overseas brothers and sisters visiting Pakistan especially to the sisters. Everyone in Pakistan is vulnerable regardless of if you are local or coming from overseas. However there are levels of vulnerability. If you are female and coming from overseas you are at higher degree of vulnerability by default. However, one can reduce the risks to their lives by not mingling with strangers, keeping low profile, sticking with family till you know your surroundings and start understanding the good and bad around them.

An estimated one thousand Christian and Hindu women are forced to convert and marry Muslim men in Pakistan every year, says a report released on Monday.
According to a report by the Movement for Solidarity and Peace in Pakistan, up to 700 of these women are Christian and 300 are Hindu.
investigations find that cases of forced marriages/conversions follow a distinctive pattern: Christian girls - usually between the ages of 12 and 25 - are abducted, converted to Islam, and married to the abductor or third party.

The Partition of India of 1947 was the division of British India[c] into two independent dominion states, India and Pakistan.[6] The Dominion of India is today the Republic of India; the Dominion of Pakistan is today the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the People's Republic of Bangladesh. The partition involved the division of two provinces, Bengal and Punjab, based on district-wide non-Muslim or Muslim majorities. The partition also saw the division of the British Indian Army, the Royal Indian Navy, the Indian Civil Service, the railways, and the central treasury. The partition was outlined in the Indian Independence Act 1947 and resulted in the dissolution of the British Raj, or Crown rule in India. The two self-governing countries of India and Pakistan legally came into existence at midnight on 15 August 1947.

@@faisalshahzad8209: Hi Faisal. I’m in England and we have serious problems with murders and child pornographers. Trafficking and robbery are common here. The difference is; our police force are charged with political cleaning up. You cannot bribe police here and if you make enough noise with proof you’re likely to get a measure of justice. That’s not the same in most countries: especially places like Asia. My main concern is the female Pakistani community in the UK who just plain don’t know what can happen. This case isn’t rare. It’s just that an English born girl didn’t understand what would happen if she went to Pakistan expecting men to behave as they would here. @@farhad-kz3vn - That shouldn’t make a difference in this day and age. You can still call them, email them in Islamabad. Hell I would’ve contacted the High Commission and Embassy in the UK if my daughters life was in danger. I don’t get it.
@no dream -- You probably meant that in Pakistan, women and girls don't trust the justice system at all, so they don't report the crimes committed against them as much as women and girls in the western world (and I say this while knowing that the justice system in the west isn't great, but still better than Pakistan and many other countries).
@no dream - So doing research makes this situation better?? I don’t get your point. Nobody is making East and West comparisons here. Most likely the guys were involved in politics. This allowed them the assurance that they can get out of jail even if they are found guilty because their leaders are usually involved with the POLICE system. Welcome to Pakistani politics.
Exactly!!! I feel that foreign born children of immigrants ( like myself) they get comfortable and wanna make friends and blend with the locals. And they does not work. Like u said: stick with family members. Just stay outta sight. Also there is the expat community too if you are soo inclined but leave the local people alone. The police aren’t even questioning those so called friends she lived with smh.
Pakistan is overall a lot safer than people would ever know till they go there. No place is safe for women though when it comes to insecure creepy men

@@nickthomas7465 There were a couple of cases of honour killing. The problem is a lot of Pakistani families in the UK have lived there for years and their children have in many cases been born there. If they have a daughter they want her to get married to some cousin living in Pakistan and in many cases send them to Pakistan on the pretext of a vacation and if the girl says no to marriage while in Pakistan she is murdered and made to look like an accident. This latest case does not look like an honour killing and the murder might be linked to the girl coming to Pakistan and getting mixedmaybe with boys belonging to rich families and maybe in the course of partying things going wrong. The point being our legal system is to slow and our police force are either inept or in most cases corrupt where money talks.
