What you said about the lack of support for artists like Normani or Ari Lennox is so true! If you want to be represented support those who look like you!
Right, I have cousins who are dark skinned and mixed . Generally speaking if someone looks like they could be my direct family member I’m going to class them as mixed regardless of their complexion
🙋♀I'm guilty of previously grouping dark skinned mixed women with ALL black people. Your channel has helped me change this small/narrow minded way of thinking.
I would consider light skinned mixed people as mixed and dark skinned mixed people as black 🤔 it's honestly just ignorance. When you don't understand something or care to understand, it's ignorance. I was ignorant.
@@AmaLoveGoddessTV 🤣 my college roommate is from Gujarat India. She is SO funny. She argued with me that she was black for months. She was putting black on everything because Indian wasn't an option. When she realized she was from the continent Asia her face looked like that's so Raven when she has a vision. It was HILARIOUS. She was like "Am I Asian? I'm ASIAN!!!!!"
Girl, I didn't realize I do that too. That's why I love this space. We can admit our OWN bias & actively work together to fix it. Grouping everyone together is wrong. I have a UADS cousin that looks like a DS version of me. When we were young and used to go out guys would hit on us both. Her gorgeous dark brown skin that BW say stops them from everything stopped her from nothing. She nvr had probs getting a man or being liked at work or school. She relates more to me than the other UABW. That is what EU is referring to. My cousin has "Exotical features," and just so happens to have dark brown skin, too.
I love this channel and I’m an unambiguous black woman😂😂😂…people want me to be insecure so bad or push this narrative that we all hate our skin & features. From my personal experience, I have gotten the most hate from other black woman that looked just like me SMH.
I will never forget how many unambiguous dsw went on a tyrant with this ds natural hair youtuber. She has a mix of mainly type 3 hair, and one day she shared her mixed ancestry of having a grandparent from India. People lost their minds and got mad at her like she deceived everyone just because she has dark skin. It was complete bonkers. She even had to apologize for it.
@@HoneySnowflake Watched it and omg some of the comments 🙈….some people were big mad she spoke about her Indian heritage and not the black smh. Someone said “Indian isn’t anything special” omggg that’s racist af. They’d be pissed if someone who was 1/4 black said that
i love how you mentioned the fact that horn africans get told that they have European features, as an Ethiopian women I've been told on several occasions that I'm pretty because I have a 'white' or 'european nose' and that I have 'nice hair' , like people don't seem to understand that not every phenotype in Africa is the same and that east afican features are extremely different to west African features
I remember people went bonkers when they found out Porsha is multi generational y mixed from her moms side. She talked about being part mexican and they. Went. Crazy. Smh
Yessss this space highlights “blackness and privilege.” I literally have a video uploading now where I finally was able to articulate the reason why reverse colorism is so jolting…and the reason is that the meanness stands out so much because it is so unusual to the usual reception…like what do you mean you don’t like me for no reason when I’ve been walking around being treated nicely and kindly and getting free things because I’m so nice and polite in return😂
You are so right! The use colorism when it jealousy towards lsw and featurism with ambiguous dsw. This video topic made me think of the Basketball wives colorism bs between OG and Kristen. OG tried to play the colorism card but that failed because Kristen, the ambiguous dsbw who has keener and softer features than OG, is darker than OG. So instead, she plays the featurism card. OG was literally mad and jealous that Kristen doesn’t look unambiguous and felt she was being treated better. 🤦🏽♀️
I agree that it's not ok to put women against each other. Women already deal with misogyny and the "hierarchy" with in the Black community is exhausting. Why can't everyone just accept each other?
You never fail to amaze me, they know exactly what they’re doing as they turn around and tell us that only the Naomi’s get pretty privilege, basically admitting that we are mixed and that there is a difference between our experiences
I think UABW need their own space and we need to personally separate from them permanently. We need to create everything for us only without caring what they think. I have no interest in having any DED (Dark Energy Demons) people in my space. I'm sick of the reverse colorism, jealousy, not being to be proud of ourselves because we are lighter and pretty, being harassed and trolled for no reason, not being able to speak our peace, not being validated for our experiences, the gaslighting they do to silence us I'M TIRED TIRED TIRED. GO AWAY!
The jealousy part is real , I always wondered why prettier black Americans are nicer , the UABW and men have tendency to throw the first bunch just noticed they are having hard time look in the mirror because they feel so ugly .
I agree with you saying that UABW should have there own personal space , because we arent there in the conversations that they are having right now. We Exoticals have our own personal space , community
OMG exactly! When I watched a few first vids on your channel, it was clear that it was a 'Reaction to certain BWE channels" and I knew which ones instantly, especially due to the name of the channel (Exoticals United). No, it was not about leaving the bk community, but they sure wanted to push us other a few yrs ago🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️ LOL! Now look at them😂
You need to make a video also about people getting upset at Black women/mixed women with light eyes. I notice when someone like Lisa Ray or Denise Vasi or Noemie Lenoir or Stacey Dash is getting praised for her beauty, you'll have dark skinned Black women talking about "your eye color doesn't mean you have pretty eyes. Y'all equate anybody with light eyes beautiful". When you clearly see all those women are gorgeous and got as far as they have because of their looks (because Lisa Raye and Stacey Dash can barely act, but were sex symbols).
Thank you so much for this video!!! I feel like darker skinned black women who are mixed or appear as mixed (like me) because of their features are not talked about enough!! Although I’m brown skin, because of my 3c4a hair texture and facial features, I can pass as mixed race even though I’m not. Tbh I can’t sit here and act like my features that make me appear “mixed race” to some black people didn’t affect me. I also think I got some Louisiana creole from my dads side. From people always wanting to touch my hair to people accusing me of wearing a wig when I get it silk pressed, hairdressers always saying how I have pretty hair when I get it done, and other black people being confused about my identity because I grew up in the suburbs😭😭. Like sorry I’m not acting and looking how you think I should???🤨I identify as a black woman because both my parents are black but to the world I sometimes appear as a mixed race woman. It’s a bit weird to me but I can’t help how other people see me!
I’m a light skinned black woman with 3c/4a/4b hair. I went through a lot of the same things you did. I get mistaken for biracial or multi ethnic a lot. I don’t care anymore. People can think what they want about me and attach any preconceived notions to me they like. At the end of the day, that’s a them problem. I don’t think I’m pretty anyway so there’s that. I am who I am take it or leave it.
I saw a woman on youtube stating that chilli from tlc is lying about being half Bengali. She stated that she is black and the info on the net is fake and she done deeper research and found that both her parents are black but her great grandfather was bengali. She also mentioned that Chilli doesnt even look mixed.
If any of these channels happen to come across this comment, I simply wish they would take the time to watch your videos, understand, and perhaps engage in a bit of self-reflection on why they have certain harmful narratives, such as preferences or blaming other women. Instead of bullying th celebrities, why not use their large following to promote artists who resemble them and support other positive channels like how you ladies are supporting each other. I just wish they could apply the positive aspects of what you're doing to uplift their own. It makes sad when I visit there channels and still the same complaints.

People claim others can't tell they are mixed but I could tell Tatyana Ali and Justine Skye are mixed despite being dark skinned.
Same. I think people are saying that because they want to humble darker skinned mixed women.

95% of the dark skinned women UADW claim are “beautiful black women”are mixed or look mixed. They can tell they’re probably ashamed to admit it.
Cause they want to play into the delusion of representation for them... 🥴
