Wouldn‘t Louises‘ story make a good movie? Let me know what you think! If you want to know more about Louise, you can read her Memoirs online for free : archive.org/details/cu31924028358418
I agree, she was very resilient! Instead of returning to her husband and „living in peace“ , she stood up for her believes. I admire her for not backing down and that she rather lived in an asylum than to give in.
This is the first I have heard of her but it doesn't surprise me. She was very strong to make it through being in an asylum for that long. I definitely agree with her and it's how I've lived my life. Money is never the most important thing...in fact it's not even close to the top of the list when deciding whether to be in a relationship or stay in one. It's meant that I haven't had a lot of money in my life but that's ok. My family doesn't understand it and I think if it was a different time, they would try to put me in a insane asylum. I stopped living my life to please them in my early 20's. But I will say I do know more than a little about asylums from that time period and she got lucky because it could have been much worse. I'm glad it wasn't and maybe her family didn't want her completely lobotomized but just kept out of the way so she couldn't cause anymore scandals but that doesn't mean other women didn't go through that all the way up to the 1950s or 60s. It was very easy back in the day to be able to put any female in your family away if you said they needed it. The problem with that is that then once they're at the asylum, they could be given a lobotomy, shock therapy or drugs that would basically do the same thing as either or both of the first two. Of course, the treatment all depends on the time period that they were in a facility but this can and still does happen to LGBTQ youth (even though it's supposed to be illegal in most of the US but I don't know what the laws are outside of it). It could also still happen (not the lobotomy, I don't think anyone does those anymore thankfully) to women because we don't have as much power usually as men. Just something to be aware of.
I knew next to nothing about this lady, she had a harsh unloving childhood her parents didn't seem to care, her life was not an easy one or a happy one, she found a little happiness in her life, all in all a very sad and lonely life, thank you for this lady's story excellent content.
What a brave woman she was, standing up to her despotic hypocrite of a father. Yes, I do think it would make a great film. You should write the screenplay 😁
Go for it! I think you write well. There are many guides and resources on the internet to help you write a screenplay. I would simply call your movie Louise 😁
Right? I guess many people think history is boring, because in school you mostly talk about wars, treaties and political decisions. These can be interesting as well, but personally I am more interested in the people behind the events!
What a life she had! Her father King Leopold ll was a monster! His father, King Leopold l was Prince Alberts uncle. He would have been horrified by the genocide his son committed on the Congolese people
Thank you for this video, I’d never heard of her. I just discovered your channel a few days ago and really enjoy learning about the royals that aren’t well-known here in the US.
Her father was trying to control her and was cruel not to give her money as she was family and cruel to put her in a asylum she was lucky to escape and find love

Fascinating! Thank you! Incredible that she survived her ghastly despicable father. She actually is a modern woman.

An early suffragette.
I’d never heard of her before! This would definitely make an amazing movie
Agreed, I‘d be totally in!
So much to know take the time and study all Europe’s Royalty history is everything and lost because it’s not taught
I have. The channel “The Girl in the Tiara” has a documentary about her.
@@cherryhughes2141 Not everyone is interested in European Royal history, or Euro history in general. 😆😂

Quelle histoire...merci de la raconter...
Ohhh just saw this pop up. I’m on the couch so absolutely happy to have something to watch !

Very compelling story. I just found the music a difficult distraction. Thank you.
Thanks for your comment, I will keep that in mind when creating my next video!

To think that some find history a bore!

@@historyfoxy5278 Agree💯
Well, not every couple can be good at parenting, and that has a negative impact on the kids.
Gosh what a life she had!!!Thank you so much for your effort 👌
It’s worth a movie!! You’re very welcome ☺️
Maybe the good old days weren't all that great

Absolutely!
The genocide went into the millions.

Sad story poor children...cruel parents 😪
Cinematic love and adventure story.
King Leopold was a nasty piece of work.
He sure was! Surprisingly he had a somewhat good relationship with his youngest daughter Clementine though.
Very interesting yet so sad too.
Wow a sad story like every I know. A normal life like everyone I know. Let's get married and keep it complicated and love each other forever.
Her father was trying to control her and was cruel not to give her money as she was family and cruel to put her in a asylum she was lucky to escape and find love
Indeed! She was very brave and had quiet a backbone!
She had a hard life for a princess !
This was very interesting 😊😊
Wow...Amazing...
I cannot believe she got nothing from her father's vast estates and wealth. She was legitimate.
He tried his best to hide his fortune from his children!
She was beautiful.
I agree, she just had something very charismatic.
I’m surprised this woman could even breathe, judging by how tight her corset is!! 😆😂
thnx! excellent video. 😘👌🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it!
Was this the Leopold who cut off people’s hands daily in the Congo?
Yes
Yes, he was the father of Louise.
Quite the moral arbiter, Leopold II!
Horrible man, he used an entire nation and it's people for his own personal piggyback.
Why would royal children not have furniture in their bedrooms, and sleep on hard beds, use cold water??
Probably to keep them under control and to keep them disciplined. Looking at King Leopolds character it’s not surprising how he treated his children.
Por que não traduzem para o português..?
Hey, I‘m working on providing more translations.
IN FUCKING 2023! Have a wonderful birthday party! Leo's. 12 Août.
La REVANCHE... 🎵
If you were better able to pronounce your words it would be a more interesting story
😳😳😳😳unkind statement.
Yes I can only understand the odd word, very poor diction
